Steve Nicks Visits The Set Of "Glee"!
Legendary rocker Stevie Nicks visited the set of "Glee" Tuesday, TooFab has exclusively confirmed--but don't expect to see her the show quite yet.
"Steve Nicks visited the set yesterday," her rep told TooFab Wednesday, "but she is not 'on the show.'"
But that doesn't mean Nicks isn't up for a cameo. "We can of course hope and dream of a day when that could happen," adds her rep.
Nicks, who performs with Fleetwood Mac and had a successful solo career of her own, stopped by the studio yesterday, while guest stars Gwyneth Paltrow and John Stamos were also on-set.
The show's cast members were definitely thrilled to have Nicks there: After filming, Dianna Agron ("Quinn") tweeted "Gwyneth Paltrow and Stevie Nicks. Wonderful and unexpected day" with co-star Ashley Fink ("Lauren Zizes") tweeting, "Paltrow, Stamos, Stevie Nicks ... Pinch me."
Paltrow and the gang are rumored to sing "Landslide" during an upcoming episode.

I love this show! Some of those kids have great voices! Excited they're going to sing some of her songs. It would be much better if they had a Stevie-Sue S. knockdown fight scene. haha You know those cute, little TUSK fight moves she makes with Lindsey in concert. Except knock out Sue, the PE teacher. I am not fond of PE teachers:laugh: With Stevie winning, of course:nod::laugh:

I'm not entirely excited about Landslide because unless they do an a capella arrangement of it, I don't think they would do it justice at all.
However, the very fact that this is getting Stevie's name out there to an audience who may be unfamiliar with her is good news! So yay. Plus I love that all of the Glee kids were excited to meet her.

I am very excited about this. Stevie should go on Glee. this is a show that celebrates music and she would be a great on here. I wonder how her cameo would be. Would she play herself? Or a "stevie Nickish" type teacher perhaps?

I'm guessing it would be a VERY brief cameo. Since they're working on the episode with her song in it now, it's probably completely written, so we're not looking at a whole subplot. I imagine it would be along the lines of Brittney's appearance, where she popped up at the end of her song and winked.

I just pray if Landslide is performed, that the writer's at Glee somehow play tribute to Stevie & sneak in a clever FM, or preferably Stevie Nicks reference, so that younger viewers don't immediately think "Oh Cool! Glee's doing a Dixie Chicks song":rolleyes:Ugh!
I was really counting on the Glee cast performing some of Stevie's solo material. I could see an all out attitude cover of Stand Back easily! Besides how hard would it be to pull off an entire Stevie themed show? The easiest and most obvious would be to do all out "Rumours" themed show complete with a partner-swapping comedy/drama with tongue firmly in cheek episode of them doing the hits of FM's soap opera heyday

Same here. I feel like the whole reason Stevie has any interest in going on the show is to get her name out there, not Fleetwood Mac's! I know she wrote Landslide, but many young people will think it was the Dixie Chicks, and if they somehow happen to figure out that it was actually Fleetwood Mac, I doubt they will look much further to see that Stevie Nicks wrote it. I'm hoping they do more than just Landslide, but if not, the name Stevie Nicks better fly out of someone's mouth or I am going to be pissed!

I would love this, but they would never do a Stevie episode. She doesn't have the massive youth appeal of Brittney or Gaga, and her brand isn't as big as Madonna's.
I do think the idea of a Rumours episode has legs, though. It does seem like the kind of challenge Schu would throw at the kids, and could easily be woven into a plot for the main couples. The only issue is that the show generally tries to keep a balance between classic and contemporary in each episode, so I don't know whether they'd go for an entire show from 1977...

Agreed! At frat parties people go ALL OUT for Don't Stop Believing. It's seriously one of the favorites.
And I don't think it was a whole Journey episode--just a Journey medley (might be off on that one). And yeah, it was because Journey had been such a huge hit for them in the pilot.

Agree to disagree? Just saying, her appeal is different from the performers they've chosen to do entire episodes around. Yes, many adults watch the show, but Ryan Murphy has made it fairly clear his goal is to inspire a love of music in the young teen set. He'll throw the boomers a bone, but I don't see him devoting an entire episode to someone many in his target audience haven't even heard of. Anything's possible, but I really, really don't see an entire Stevie ep happening. I think she was only visiting to encourage the idea of a cameo, and maybe get a little press.
The most I could see is something similar to what Olivia Newton-John did. She didn't have her own episode, but they re-did her video and gave her a hilarious subplot. Something comparable would be great for Stevie.

I guess it depends on how you define a special ep? Her appearance was awesome and definitely memorable, but it they only played one of her songs. I can totally see that she owned that show and it could be considered the ONJ episode, but I'm not inclined to group it with the Madonna, Brittney, and Gaga eps. And I've had the impression that's what some are hoping for--an episode of all Stevie or FM music.

If there is indeed going to be a FM/SN theme one day, the cast can replicate the 'Stand Back' video in all its glory like they did Madonna's 'Vogue'.
The cast can dress up as the cheesy 80's background dancers while Finn (Cory Monteith) plays the Brad Jeffries part.
Rachel (Lea Michele), in a blond wig, chiffon, and platforms, can be Stevie - treadmill and all.
Or would Sue (Jane Lynch) make a better Stevie?

Oh. Em. Glee!!!!
Of all the times we've dream of visiting McKinley High, never have we ever wanted to be there more than yesterday.
According to the cast, Glee was visited by Stevie Nicks yesterday, as they were shooting scenes with Gwyneth Paltrow. Apparently, her visit was a surprise to the kids as Dianna Agron raved on her Twitter that it was a "wonderful and unexpected day."
The gang is rumored to be singing Landslide with Gwyn in a future episode, but don't expect Stevie to jump in a the chorus. We're told Stevie didn't film any scenes during her visit and there are no plans for her to in the near future. (Boo!)
But fear not! When her rep was reached for comment, he gave us a glimmer of hope. He told sources, "We can of course hope and dream of a day when that could happen."
Wishing, hoping, praying and dreaming for that everyday! But we understand; she has an album and a tour coming up. Stevie is very busy.
But never forget, Ryan Murphy, she's game for it! Make sure to revisit this sometime soon! Very soon!

Dianna Agron has revealed that Stevie Nicks made her cry on the set of TV show Glee.
The 24-year-old is best known for her portrayal of high school cheerleader Quinn Fabray on the hit American series. The actress is now starring in the film I Am Number Four alongside boyfriend Alex Pettyfer.
The pretty blonde is a strong supporter of arts education in schools and she was overcome with emotion when 62-year-old singer-songwriter Stevie expressed its importance in a speech given while the cast of Glee were filming.
"We had the pleasure of Stevie Nicks being on set yesterday,” Dianna told ET.
“And she kind of made us all cry because she came and she said, 'If I hadn't been a musician, I would have been a teacher. And I would've hoped to send this message to kids - that although there are very important things like math and science and learning, you know, kind of the things that get you through life, there's also you need to find joy. And whether that's through music or dance or things like that, you need to have outlets in your life.'"

DNW them to ruin Landslide with their over singing and overproduction. In fact, just let Nicks sing it herself.

I hate to play devil's advocate, but that's not entirely true. I'm 17 and when I suggested Landslide as one of the songs for our graduation, everyone acted like they didn't know what I was talking about, so I played it and they all said, "Didn't the Dixie Chicks sing that?" I was like 10 when their version came out. To say people under 18 won't remember that is like saying people under 18 won't remember Backstreet Boys or old Britney Spears music.
However, I don't really see it being that much of an issue anyway. I'm sure they would mention FM/Stevie at some point, and if not, reviewers of the episode will be sure to mention the original artist.

To be entirely honest I'm not completely sure how this relates specifically to my anecdote. It's an actual event that happened to me?
I'm specifically talking about teenagers.... I didn't mean to say people don't know who she is, just that a lot of my peers who are not fans of hers may very well associate Landslide with the Dixie Chicks, because that cover was released in their lifetime and in their memory, while the original (and to an extent, the Dance version) was not.
I only hope that the use of the song on Glee will introduce her to an audience who may not be familiar with her, and perhaps spark an interest. That's all.

Exactly! I'm wondering if she is going to be on the episode after the Landslide one or if she is coming back later this week to film a scene for this episode in which she is in? I just don't understand why they would waste their time telling Stevie when and where they were filming Landslide and she would waste her time to stroll up there and them not stick her in front of the camera for 15 seconds.

Streisand explains 'Glee' comment
Feb. 14, 2011, 4:06 PM EST
WENN
Barbra Streisand has cleared up recent comments she made suggesting she'd snub an offer to appear in "Glee," saying she's simply too busy for a guest role on the show.
Streisand was honored at the pre-Grammys MusiCares event on Friday, and she was asked if she'd ever consider a part on the hit U.S. musical show.
She curtly answered, "Not if I can help it."
However, the star says she was not dismissing the show's success. She says her hectic schedule wouldn't allow her to fit in an appearance.
She tells TMZ.com, "When asked if I would ever appear on 'Glee,' I should have said, 'You never know.' It was wrong to say, 'Not if I can help it.' What I meant was that I've been overwhelmed preparing for my performance on MusiCares, the Grammys, recording a new album, and starting a new movie. So I couldn't take on any more work, and besides that, I wasn't asked."

Kings Of Leon Vs. 'Glee': Nathan Followill FIRES BACK At Ryan Murphy In Homophobic Rant
First Posted: 01/26/11 01:59 PM
The 'Glee' vs. Kings of Leon rivalry just grew serious.
A number of months ago, the rock band declined to allow the FOX series 'Glee,' about a high school choir, to cover its songs in a future episode. 'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy, in a feature in The Hollywood Reporter published Wednesday, hit out at the band.
Here's how Nathan Followill, the drummer of the band of brothers, replied via Twitter: "Dear Ryan Murphy, let it go. See a therapist, get a manicure, buy a new bra. Zip your lip and focus on educating 7yr olds how to say fu*k."
Murphy is openly gay, and the show deals with many issues faced by homosexual students in high school.
Realizing how his comments could be seen, Followill later tweeted: "I'm sorry 4 anyone that misconstrued my comments as homophobic or misogynistic. I'm so not that kind of person. I really do apologize."
Still, he hasn't taken down the original post.
Followill was enraged by this quote from Murphy: "F--- you, Kings of Leon," Murphy said via the magazine. "They're self-centered assholes, and they missed the big picture. They missed that a 7-year-old kid can see someone close to their age singing a Kings of Leon song, which will maybe make them want to join a glee club or pick up a musical instrument. It's like, OK, hate on arts education. You can make fun of Glee all you want, but at its heart, what we really do is turn kids on to music."

Justin Timberlake turns down 'Glee'

We hope Ryan Murphy takes this rejection better than he took the Kings of Leon thing. According to Us Weekly, Justin Timberlake has turned down a request from "Glee" producers to use his music in upcoming episodes.
One "Glee" insider called the rejection a "slap in the face."
We're not sure why Timberlake decided to decline the offer. After all of his recent Serious Actor Business as he promotes "The Social Network," we almost forgot that he once reigned supreme as our favorite pop star ever. A New Directions cover might be just the boost he needs.
Besides, we miss his music. Maybe a Lea Michele "Cry Me a River" or Mark Salling "SexyBack" will help tide us over until he returns to the studio

The actress and her co-stars were left awestruck when the Fleetwood MAC legend arrived for a day on the set of the high school series last week (ends13Feb11).
Nicks revealed to the cast she would have been a teacher had she not been a musician - and Agron was overcome with emotion when the star gave her motivating talk.
She tells Entertainment Tonight, "We had the pleasure of Stevie Nicks being on set... she kind of made us all cry because she came and she said, 'If I hadn't been a musician, I would have been a teacher. And I would've hoped to send this message to kids - that although there are very important things like math and science and learning, you know, kind of the things that get you through life, there's also you need to find joy. And whether that's through music or dance or things like that, you need to have outlets in your life.'"

Whoever wrote the note sure was able to get Stevie's overuse of "-" down!
