There has been talk about trying to get Stevie booked as a guest for Oprah's final season, but I didn't know there was an easy, direct way to request it:

https://www.oprah.com/ownshow/plug_form.html?plug_id=3337311

Forgive me if this has been posted before, but I thought we could start a grass roots campaign here, other boards, Facebook, etc. to try and make this happen. The Heart & Soul tour and the new album... this could be the perfect storm.

Would love to see Stevie on Oprah. Whatever Oprah endorses often turns to gold, so that could be some additional sales for the album!!!

I'd like it.
My opinion, many months ago, didn't go over well on The Ledge. Still I think it is the truth: Stevie Nicks is just not on the radar of Oprah Winfrey.
Oprah may well have heard of SN, but it seems to me she has little interest in her, musically, or even with her personal survival story. Oprah would be able to explore SN's endurance in an interesting way for her largely white housewife audience, but so far she has not. Celine Dion has made a handful of visits on Oprah, SN, not one. SN is not the type of singer OW seems to covet- we haven't seen Courtney Love or Joan Jett on OW, either. Oprah seems to have had repeat guest appearences by more mainstream musical acts like Garth Brooks and Celine.

I'd love to be proven wrong. I think SN doesn't register/compute/matter to OW. And OW decides what she wants to give to her audience, the audience doesn't tell her. All of us could e-mail O twice, and still SN will never be asked- in my opinion. Unless OW were to get thousands of requests for SN, I don't think it will happen.
Now, watch 'Oprah' be the first stop SN makes to promote the cd in May! Would serve me right :)

Black people aren't into SN or Fleetwood Mac. Sorry, the only black people at a SN concert have been on stage with her, Stevie just doesn't have any impact on black people- in my opinion. Is there one black Ledgie? Long nets of white cloud my memory, but I doubt it.

I'm pretty sure there's a black girl on the Ledge. Mary J. Blige and Alicia Keys are fans, so I think black people are into SN/FM. Oprah has lots of über - white musical guests (countrystars and whatever), Stevie had a big influence, both music and fashion-wise, and with a new album coming out she's interesting again for people that otherwise might not care that much.
I really think Stevie has a chance of appearing on the Oprah show, if enough people show interest.

Oprah may well have heard of SN, but she has no connection to her, musically, or even with her personal survival story, which Oprah would be able to enjoy and or exploit for her largely white housewife audience. Celine Dion has made a handful of visits on Oprah, SN, not one. SN is not the type of singer OW seems to covet- we haven't seen Courtney Love or Joan Jett on OW, either.
I still think Stevie Nicks is not a singer who has ever resonated with Oprah, or we would have seen SN on her show long ago- A very long time ago.

I agree with you somewhat. I have never seen Oprah as a huge Stevie fan. However, Oprah's viewing audience is mostly middle aged women who would very much enjoy Stevie being on the show. And I don't think Oprah hates Stevie, so I think with her coming out with a new album, her being a strong woman many of her viewers may know, and Stevie's drug battles and hard times that always make for hooks on Oprah's show, I think Oprah would give it a go. I never saw O as a Raquel Welch fan either, but she writes a book and BAM there she is sitting down with O.

We all know how much Oprah loves to sing to her guest's songs, maybe they could do a duet!! :blob2: Stevie can bring back out Nightbird and they can sing it together. It will be awesome!! {insert hysterical laughs here}

Oprah has a radar for what white people like. That's all she does. Perhaps you are confusing her promotion of black pathology as being a "black thing," when, in fact, it is a white supremacist thing.

I just don't see the point. If the people that watch Oprah enjoy Stevie already, then what would going on there help? I think it would look silly for her to just now be going on there to tell the traumatic events of 1977.

Because tho they may enjoy her, she may have fallen off their radar. Of course they know who Stevie Nicks is, but they probably have no clue WTF she has been doing for the past 10 years. But if she is on the show they would be more inclined to buy it. Plus, I would hope they wouldn't spend too much time on the cocaine and Klonopin and Lindsey B ****, as so much time has been spent on it before, but they'd definitely use it in the promos.

I think it's possible for Stevie to be on Oprah. I'll keep my fingers crossed. You never know what may happen.

Good point! Maybe they could instead focus on Stevie's love life? What it's like to not have kids or a husband, her and Oprah could relate on that.

I may have already said this in the thread but I'm too lazy to look back. Stevie does horrible on live TV. It's just not her so forget it.

i think it has more to do with her rapport with the interviewer. just contrast her Letterman v. Leno apperances. she seems very witty and engaging on Dave's show, not so much with Jay.

Something tells me she would be particularly nervous/uncomfortable being interviewed by Oprah. And I don't know how Oprah would relate to Stevie's airy-fairy ways of thinking. With that said, I would love to see her on Oprah but not if she feels uncomfortable. She didn't exactly seem to love being on Ellen for the short time she was.

I agree also. Stevie's gave many a great interview over the years with people where she's enjoyed herself and been open. People like Sandra Bernhard etc. those were candid fun interviews. I thought she was at ease and having fun on Ellen a few weeks ago. I think it depends on the interviewer and who she warms up to. I wouldn't rule her out being on Oprah, especially since she's doing this tour with Rod Stewart. Oprah loves having old crooners singing on her show, it just might work this time. If it does though it would shock the hell out of me if she had them both on at the same time. I also wonder (unless some big catastrophe happens in the news) if Oprah's shows aren't already booked up until her very last day on the air.

For me, I don't really care for an Oprah interview. For fans like us, it would be the same story we have heard over and over again. It would be the common interview.....struggling as an artist....Lindsey.....joining the band...superstardom.....the downfall/drugs....the resurrection...and now her new material.

Been there. Done that.

The Stevie story as presented by Behind The Music, the drugs, the excesses, etc is fairly well known. On the other hand, the Stevie Nicks that gave iPods out to soldiers, the one that was involved in various benefits over the years (City of Hope, etc) is probably totally unknown by the public. Those are things might interest Oprah.
