My boyfriend has introduced to me the wonders of scented candles!:) I can't believe I haven't gotten into them before I did. Some of the scents he has are so soothing and relaxing, I"M HOOKED!:blob1::laugh: I thought I'd add a poll with this thread because these 2 companies both have excellent selections, and I wanted to see which one my fellow ledgies preferred.

Just use incense guys!
Incense is mostly cheap, and you can get the in many smells.
Patchouli incense is awesome, and I feel that it'is a way better substitute than some waxy little candle. And, it spreads so easily!

I've only ever used Yankee candles before, but that was awhile ago. My mom works at a candle shop so we get our candles from there :P I have Raspberry Cream and Blueberry Cobbler in my room, but I haven't burned them yet. Outside my room my mom has A Nag Champa candle, but upstairs she has Patchouli Raspberry and that one is my favorite!

Has anyone ever tried 'Illume' candles? Would you recommend them?

I found some when I was in California, but they were a little pricey.

I've always been a fan of Yankee Candles. They have some gorgeous scents. I particularly love their "Evening Air" collection.

The Yankee brand smells amazing but there's no way I'm paying 25+ for a candle.

My absolute favorite candle scent is Angel Whispers by Glade. I always have them burning in my room.

I can't imagine burning incense in my house- I think incense smells "dirty."

I do love candles, though. I usually use a cinnamon type scent. Caitlin, is Eucalyptus and Sparkling Cinnamon one candle or two? If one- that sounds amazing.

They're like Fifty freaking dollars per candle. My fav gift store in Charlotte sold them. They did smell nice... but not $50 nice.

I wish I could remember the brand candles I used to buy. They were fantastic, but not terribly expensive either. Like Meowi pointed out, I've been using incense for years instead.... MUCH cheaper. And the smell permeates the house more, too. I still have cheap candles everywhere for light, though. So you get the best of both atmospheres: incense for smell, candles for light :).

I mostly burn incense, however, love WoodWick candles. They smell fab, and you get the added bonus of the "crackling fireplace" sound as they burn.

Candles and other stuff that smell aren't my thing, but if I had to pick, I might go with Yankee Candle. I had to get a present for someone there and a lot of 'em smelled so good

Ooh..tough question.

I buy both. In fact last night I bought a few holiday candles at B&BW at 75%. I like buying the small candles there when they are on sale and I use those when i'm in the mood for a certain scent. Oh and they are great for the kitchen.

As for YC, I love Lemon Lavender. Hands down, favorite scent ever. A close second is this other Lavender candle they have from their almost defunct Spa Line. It's Lavender, Geranium and Ylang-Ylang. I light that in my bedroom and i feel like I am at a spa. Ok, at least it smells like I am. My third favorite is Christmas Cookie. Burn that religiously from Nov-Jan.

Here'a a tip for all your YC lovers. Bed, Bath & Beyond sells a lot of the most popular scents and you can use the 20% off coupons that flood the mailbox on those. And if you pick up their select candle of the month, it's 20% what's already 25% off. I've gotten some really good deals this way.

Yikes, that's right; they ('Illume' candles) were about that price in a gift shop I browsed through while in Napa, California.

I passed on the candles, and instead, when I was in SoCal later, stopped by Point Dume beach. :)

I'm a huge fan of Votivo candles. They run around 20 dollars each, and have a heavy oil content. There's one scent in particular that is great called Desert, and a blackberry-basil one that's a close second for my favorite.

That looks like a great little company, and I love the fact that they ship. *Glomps the Smoke On The Water candle for having a great name*
