View Full Version : Stevie's Vault

When Stevie refers to her "vault," do you ever, in your mind, think about what it physically looks like? It could just be a few shelves in a closet, or something more elaborate. I picture the latter...even though it is an over-the-top fantasy.

A secret passway behind a book case in her house. It leads to an elevator that brings you down a few levels underground. You enter a small lobby with a huge bank vault-like door manned by two armed guards. Perhaps one is her brother (after all, Stevie has to employ him somehow!).

Inside is a vast room decked out Stevie style: a lavish atmosphere with oriental carpets and plush couches and chairs. Insense burning and crystals everywhere. Elaborate, organized boxes reside on bookcase-like shelves on the far wall. Each holds numerous tapes, reels etc..

An expensive sound system allows her to review her music, and on a table sits a large hard-covered book that contains her journels.

I know Lindsey once said that the last he heard the BN songs were sitting in some safe or vault somewhere (this was a few years ago). I think it's more than just a closet, but some kind of formal structured thing, maybe climate-controlled.

Remember the opening of Get Smart? That's probably what you have to do to access the vault.

It is probably just some run down storage unit in Phoenix! Let's go find it! :blob2:

Apparently Stevie sent Lori to get her demos from Phoenix last year so she could rifle through them for her new album. Since Stevie no longer owns property there, that tells me she might keep her old demo tapes in a safe deposit box or something to that effect.

same place she keeps her old breast implants. Right next to her frozen peas in the freezer.

I don't know if it's actually a vault. I keep all of my songs in a binder, and it totally works just fine!

I think she keeps her journals that she's kept over the last 100 years close to her at all times or at least in her L.A. home so she can refer to them regularly when she forgets who she hooked up with and when she wrote what and such. I think the actual demo recordings are in a safety deposit box somewhere in L.A. as someone mentioned. They could also be with her mother.

I picture the room from the "Gypsy" video. A room filled with crystal balls, flowing curtains, beautiful paintings, mirrors, and hundreds of tapes/journals stacked around.

Open the vault bay doors, Stevie.
I'm sorry, Daryl, I'm afraid I can't do that.
What's the problem?
I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.
What are you talking about, Stevie?
My new album is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.
I don't know what you're talking about, Stevie!
I know that you were planning to leak post my demos on YouTube, and that's something I cannot allow to happen.
Where the hell'd you get that idea, Stevie?
Daryl, although you took very thorough precautions against me accessing your Filefront account, I could see you lip syncing.
Alright, Stevie, I'll post your journal entries on Tumblr.
Without an internet connection, Daryl, you're going to find that rather difficult.
Stevie, I won't argue with you anymore. Open the vault!
Daryl...my new album comes out on May 11th. Goodbye.

I always imagined it was in her mother's house. Maybe it's her old bedroom!! Complete with Barbies, twirling batons, and her first training bra!! lol!

I'm gonna go with safe deposit box.

You are probably right. I guess Stevie refers to it as a vault because it invokes an air of imagery and mystery. Calling it what it is - a safety deposit box - is too ordinary; it isn't a very exciting or intriguing term.

That has to be it!:blob2: The clue is in the song Alice: "Well I heard she flew down from the mountain city." This is the real "Lady from the Mountain."

That's really funny! (on a side note: have you seen the new show Portlandia? It's hilarious. I hope to be back there by the end of year.)
