All the venues on Ticketmaster are being listed as Rod Stewart with Stevie Nicks, not and SN...Do you think this means it will be primarily Rod singing, with Stevie adding just a few songs? Or do you think it will be more like what she did with Don Henley a few years ago. I'm OK with a few of Rod's songs, but I really want to hear her

$500 effin dollars for the front section at The Hollywood Bowl show? F that! Even if I could get those seats there's no way I'm paying that to see Stevie play a few of her greatest hits.
I think I'll sacrifice not-so great seats to go and save $ for the solo tour. Seriously though, that's just outrageous to pay TM. A broker, understandable but face value, OMG!!!

$500, are you kidding? That's outrageous, especially in this economy.

If you go to Ticketmaster the dates are listed under Rod Stewart (you can search Stevie, but he Rod page comes up), so it looks like she's supporting him. She will then go out on her own according to Dave Stewart. I'll be going regardless, because if this is like the tour she did with Don Henley, this will be her only stop in my area on this run. If she comes back again on her own, then I'll go to that too. But for now I won't chance it.
Yes, she is opening for Rod Stewart. She is playing a 75 min set. She MIGHT do a song or two with Rod.

Since they've never done anything together before, I think Stevie may be too nervous to pull the performance off. Plus, others were commenting on the lack of "chemistry" they felt Rod & Stevie had on the Ellen show. So, while I don't necessarily think it would be disastrous - because they are both seasoned vets/old pros - they may not mesh and that would end up being disappointing and anticlimactic.

I agree. Stevie and Rod admit themselves that they weren't friends or anything (left unspoken: "management came up with this idea for purely mercenary reasons") and she hasn't had time to establish a connection with him. I was frankly astounded when she said on Ellen that they'd spent less than an hour together in the last three decades. I bet they didn't even talk on the phone about the tour prior; it was all done through lawyers and managers. The way she likes to sing at her duet partner, even touch or hug him ala Lindsey and Henley... obviously, that would be problematic with someone who's practically a stranger.
That said, if she could become comfortable with him, I imagine he could pull off Stop Draggin' My Heart Around well enough. He should shy away from Leather and Lace, though. He doesn't have Henley's timbre and it would be jarring, IMHO.
At this point, though, I'm guessing there will be no on-stage interaction except perhaps a joint encore. We'll see!

Stevie is not a support act for this tour, nor is she billed in such a way.
The press release and collateral materials state "Rod Stewart & Stevie Nicks" or "Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks." Phrases such as "with special guest" or simply the word "with" would designate secondary status, etc. Ticketmaster's individual sales points have listed the show as Rod Stewart/Stevie Nicks, Rod Stewart & Stevie Nicks as well as Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks.
Their names occupy equitable square-inch space on the posters; "Rod" is a larger point-size than "Stevie" because it's only 3 letters and the design choice was to square off names. "Nicks" is a larger point size than "Stewart."
The press release is not entirely clear, but they may be sharing a band as well.
I'm sure more information will be available this upcoming week.
The official press joint press release from Rod & Stevie's publicists:
Two Legends – One Stage: Rod Stewart & Stevie Nicks The Heart & Soul 2011 North American Tour the Year’s Can’t Miss Rock & Roll Event
Tour Opening March 20, 2011 at Bank Atlantic Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Tickets On-Sale Beginning January 21, 2011
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ROD STEWART and STEVIE NICKS announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing today, Thursday, January 13, (check local listings) that they have joined forces for one of the most anticipated musical events of the year, THE HEART & SOUL TOUR. Launching March 20, 2011 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the tour will unite two of music’s most legendary forces for a series of arena concerts throughout North America - with performances already confirmed in New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Tampa, Montreal and more. Fans can tune-in to the show on Thursday, January 13 and log-on to watch their exclusive interview and performances. The tour will feature both artists performing all rock & roll sets from their incomparable catalogs of hits and backed by an incredible band of musicians and stage production. Tickets go on sale beginning Friday, January 21, visit rodstewart.com for details.
Said Rod Stewart: “We haven’t yet begun rehearsals but I can already tell you this, with Stevie on board our audiences are in store for an evening of pure rock & roll music. I’m already thinking about which of my old favourites to bring back and vocally, I think we’ve both begun thinking about which songs might be great fun and well-suited for a duet or two.”
In a career spanning five decades, with an estimated 250 million album and single sales, Rod Stewart is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and indisputably one of the most successful performers of all time. He finished 2010 at the top of both the touring and album charts - highlighted by his critically-heralded, sold-out first run of concerts at The Colosseum in Las Vegas, a “Boxscore,” chart-topping, 33-date European summer tour which included 4 sold-out dates at London’s O2 Arena. Throughout his prolific career, he’s garnered 16-Grammy nominations, including his current for “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album," and sales of more than one million albums worldwide for his 2010 album FLY ME TO THE MOON…THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK, VOLUME V.
Stevie Nicks, Rock and Roll's reigning queen, will be releasing her highly anticipated new CD “IN: YOUR DREAMS” on May 3, 2011. The new album, her first album of new material in a decade, was co-produced by former Eurythmic Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard. The new album is now available for fans to pre-order at stevienicks.warnerreprise.com. Fans who pre-order the CD will receive an instant download of the record's first single, the Nicks’ penned "Secret Love.” The official release date of the single is February 3rd. Nicks is a multi-Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and member of Fleetwood Mac.
Tickets for THE HEART & SOUL TOUR will go on-sale beginning January 21, 2011 at 10:00 AM local time. Additional North American on-sales will take place over the following few weeks as detailed in the below tour itinerary. Fans can view full tour details including all updated and added tour dates and on-sale information by visiting rodstewart.com and rockalittle.com.
Additionally, American Express Cardmembers will have an opportunity to purchase tickets in advance of the public on-sale date beginning Monday, January 17 by visiting ticketmaster.com; for the Philadelphia concert by visiting comcasttix.com; and for the Montreal concert by visiting evenko.ca.

Are we pretty sure that Stevie will announce a solo tour after these dates with Rod to promote the new CD? If so, I am definitely waiting for that! I hate that she's playing huge venues with Rod, I'd much rather see her at a smaller venue over the summer....thoughts?:distress:

Well, since blue is my favorite color, I do like the blue background. I find it odd that they would tour together since they barely know each other. I don't think Stevie has ever toured with anyone she has either known intimately or as friends. Tickets @ the Philly show are about $150 each + all the fees. Sounds reasonable, but I still haven't decided whether to go or not.

Got a ticket for The Hollywood Bowl show through Amex pre-sale. I didn't get a very good seat (nothing good offered for the pre-sale) but I'm willing to sacrifice to wait for first five rows of her solo tour as usual. It will be cool just to be there. I'm excited I'm seeing Stevie in 3 months!
I may try again closer to the show for a better seat and sell this one so we'll see. At least I'm definitely going.
Oh it was second tier pricing and cost me $148 total.

If she comes back solo, I'll go but I'm really not interested in spend $$ to see a watered down Stevie Nicks set followed by Rod Stewart. It just wouldn't be worth it for me. I'd rather sit home and listen to her new CD (which won't be out yet...I'm still trying to figure that one out)!

sherhiannon, I'm thinking the same thing. After thinking hard on it, I think I'll hold out for a summer tour, hopefully in a smaller venue where the focus can be on Ms. Stevie. My biggest hurdle was the airfare to get to Toronto. I can afford it but it seems like a lot for one show when there will likely be more opportunities in the future. I'm hoping if she does some West Coast dates I can road trip it and spend more money on concert tickets. Of course she could solve all my problems and just come to Calgary. We shall see.
And to answer your question, Dave Stewart has made it clear via twitter that Stevie will be touring to promote the CD once it is released.

Exactly. At most Stevie might play her single "Secret Love" on this tour and nothing else new. So far I am happy that there is no Denver date so I won't have to choose to not go, though I probably would.
The other reason I'm unhappy about this outing with Rod, is I am sure this quick $$ grab tour is the reason "In Your Dreams" was pushed back 2 months. Yeah, I'm sure she will generate a little bit of attention before the record. But really not grab any newer fans. This smells purely like a wham bam thank you maam for everyone involved.

On the Philips Arena site they're pictured side-by-side, and it says Rod Stewart & Stevie Nicks. On Ticketmaster for that very show it just says "Rod Stewart." lol no mention of Stevie @ all.

I'm happy to say I actually have no interest in seeing any show on this tour at all. And Toronto is actually closer to me then Turning Stone, which I did drive to on her "Not a Tour" show last year. Again even if she does Secret Love, she'll still be doing it in a few months when she tours for IYD so I'll hear it then. The only way I'd buy a Toronto ticket is if by some miracle she plays some random song from her past, but I think thats incredibly unlikely, A new cover will not count.

I think so it might be a similiar show to Don Henley but I want to say its a Rod Stewart Tour more than a Stevie Tour she will be touring in the summer time to promote her new cd I want to bet she will not do any new songs from her upcoming cd until she promotes her own tour as well. I am passing this Rod Stewart and Stevie Show the tickets are high priced for me at Mohegan Sun Arena $141 and $192 I will be home watching the soundstage concerts with a glass of wine on the night she is here at Mohegan Sun in CT. Ticket master is listing the Mohegan Sun Arena Show as just a Rod Stewart Show no mention of Stevie Nicks on the page but we know she will be there. Not sure if Stevie is doing a full set or a 30 min. Set.

Rod's name is definitely not bigger on that poster for any reason other than his name has less letters and they're trying to match up the amount of space each name takes.
I got the impression from the Ellen Show appearance that Stevie and Rod probably won't be seeing very much of each other during this tour. They'll have their own entourages, prep areas, etc. and the most they'll have in common is that they'll be on the same stage for the same crowd every night. Maybe they'll perform together, but I wouldn't count on it. I mean, we're talking about someone who leaves the stage during extended guitar solos from members of the band she's actually IN, so I really doubt that if she'll involve herself in anything she doesn't want to, no matter how it's billed.

I read a few blurbs today - they are calling this a co-headlining tour. Wouldn't that require Stevie to close a few shows then? I can't see that happening...
Anyway, the local classic rock station here in Atlanta talked the tour up this morning and said it "looks" like they'll be joining each other on a couple of songs. I wonder if they will actually try it. Rod's been quoted they probably will and I'm sure that's where the dj got her info.
I'm not sure it's worth it to see this tour...

Honestly I don't get all the negativity surrounding this tour. Yes I agree this pairing does seem strange but I am still excited. I must be one of the few Rod Stewart fans here on this board. Yes Rod's voice is not that great anymore but then again neither is hers. They both have their moments though. I thought they both sucked on Ellen but between the two he was better. I am going to see the tour in Montreal and Toronto mainly because I am not sure if her tour this summer or fall will hit Canada or anywhere close for me to go. I think it will be just like the Two Voices tour. Rod did say he wanted to bring back some of his old rockers and I am hopeful that she will throw us a bone. I have never heard Love is , Has Anyone..., Fall From Grace, Sorcerer, If Anyone Falls, How Still My Love so if she does those songs I will be fine.

exactly what I was thinking. I'd probably die laughing. Kind of like how I did in Nashville when Dave Stewart came out in that sequined jacket. Except this time I know Stevie will be there.
I'd bet you $5 that Stevie and Rod hooked up back in the day and haven't talked about it since. Stevie might not even remember if it happened or not. Maybe she just dreamed that Rod dressed up in her outfits and sang Standback. Heheheh. We all know he'd boink anything.

Well this is a Rod Stewart Tour than a Stevie Nicks tour she is just an opening act for Rod Stewart on this tour and then later or middle of the summer she will do a Headlining tour of her own promoting her new cd In Your Dreams. So Will be Missing her tour with Rod and depending on her prices for her solo tour will see her later in the summer if she comes to the NYC,CT,Mass area.
