Is Stevie still going to have a tour after In Your Dreams, or is that substituted by the Heart and Soul Tour?

Dave Stewart has said that the Stevie/Rod tour is not the promotional tour for her record and that they (Dave & Stevie)will most likely tour together this summer, or at least play a few dates together. We'll see how it actually plays out, but yes she will tour after the whole Rod mini tour is over.

I pray to the Holy Gypsy Gods that she does some more touring for the album!

Dave tweeted this earlier:

I think Dave's sitting at home thinking "I am NEVER working on another record with Stevie!" ;) Those dang fans!

I donīt understand that... she spend a year with Dave Stewart making new album, than she tours with Rod Stewart (will there be any new song?), tour will be called Heart and Soul, than the new album called In Your Dreams will be released and than will be some tour dates with Dave.
Iīm little bit loosing myself in that...
But I hope that I will be able to see her in concert in Europe... but Iīm really not interested in Rod Stewart or Dave Stewart.... how itīs possible that they have the same name???
Well, I finish it with this: Iīm so looking forward to that new album. I heard the whole new song Secret Love on youtube, and itīs amazing. Stevieīs voice is great great great. How many songs there will be? 12 as always?

Dave is English, and she hasn't toured here solo since 1989 for God's sake! A visit to Europe is well overdue
Besides, she hangs out all the time with English people... ;)

Isn't it unusual to tour for an album before it's been released. This short tour with Rod might just be something that Stevie (or her manager or record company) wants to get her name out there. We hang on every interview, appearance and tweet. The general public might be totally caught unaware by a new Stevie album, but with a tour and talk show appearances people will be thinking of her and more inclined to give the new album a chance.
Or she just might really love touring and after being in a studio for the past year she might just really want to get back on stage and be well practiced for the In Your Dreams tour.

No doubt this tour with Rod Stewart was started as an idea to help put Stevie back in the minds of the general public. Her people know that her new CD will need a boost like this to help generate sales. It's all part of their plan to market her as a viable artist in 2011. It's a good idea. Whether or not this tour will help with sales, only time will tell. Clearly though, they feel the new material is worth the effort, which speaks highly of the music that's on there. But there's no way she's not touring for IYD. My guess is she'll hit the road on her own sometime around June.

It will also depend on if she adds a couple of the new songs to the In Your Dreams set-list, rather than waiting so they "don't end up Youtube" the next day. Obviously the Rod/Stevie show will probably have a shortened set-list for each artist, so there will not be much room for new songs - however 2 would be sufficient.

I've just tweeted Dave to ask if there's any chance of dates in the UK/Ireland. Or at least, I think I've tweeted him, I don't really know how Twitter works ... :o Can anyone help? I put @DaveStewart in the tweet, will he only see it if he's following me?

No he'll see it if he checks for tweets to himself, or tweets with his name mentioned.

Absolutely! She has quite the contingent of fans in Europe. If there are no European dates this time round I'll be seriously p***ed... especially since Dave should know better!
Of course, money depending I'm seriously considering just going to the US for a week on hoilday and making sure I catch one of the gigs. I'd plan the trip around it! Very luxurious though, but fun if I can manage!

Rod can fill arenas so it's all good for Stevie.
Rod is my next favourite of all time after FM/Lindsey Buckingham and I've seen him five times now including Wembley Stadium and in Paris France. Saw him last May at the NEC in Manchester and it was his best gig yet - therefore I think Rod and Stevie together should be quite special and a great promotion for her.

what Sourcerer99 says makes sense.... the Heart & Soul tour is pretty limited in scope and length and ends before the new album is even released. And before the summer (heavy concert action) begins. I think this tour is just a warm up for a summer run --- and hopefully she'll be touring w/ DAVE Stewart after the first tour.

Not only is it a warm up, but by teaming with Rod on this limited run - it just amplified the word of her new album, single etc. and she got WAY more press leading up to the release rather then if she just went out on her own limited run before the release.... I think it was genius! This was an explosion in the media and pretty much everything printed about the tour mentioned the Stevie's new album...

God, I gag at the thought of the Rod fans I am going to encounter. When Stevie does a double bill there are usually more Stevie fans in the audience (Henley, Issac), but this time its the reverse for sure.

i think this is just to gen some buzz
she'll have a month or 2 off after Rod
and then do some summer dates to prop her record
of course those FEW dates will include Euro & Australia :p *prays to the Gypsy gods*

Is he really that big? I can barely name four songs by him - the ones mentioned on Ellen, "Tonight's the Night," and that song he did for the Three Musketeers soundtrack with Bryan Adams and Sting.

Yeah he plays the big arenas by himself all the time - so he's a pretty big draw. I saw him @ Philips Arena in Atlanta in 2004, and it was sold out.

I see. Looks like we'll have a lot of competition for tickets.

They're both classic rockers of a certain age. My guess would be that there is a lot of overlap in the casual audiences that would go to a Stevie show and a Rod Stewart show.
