There were better choices, but I like the double meaning. It's definitely growing on me, and I suspect it'll grow on lots of us too.

In Your Dreams may be many things, but worse than Street Angel? I hear that title and imagine a drunk tramp wearing angel wings made of tinfoil.

I don't like the title - so derivative - but if the song it's named after is a standout, all will be forgiven.

At first I thought it was a little unimaginative, to be 100% honest. I was really looking forward to an interesting album title like "Trouble In Shangri-La." ...THAT is a good album name! I was underwhelmed at first, but now I realize that her album titles are so her, and this one is no exception.

I hear Street Angel and think of exactly what the song says, strange and elusive, going where she goes.
I hear In Your Dreams, and think of a kid on the playground taking the swing from another kid.

Thanks for that! You just ruined the wonderfully romantic sweet & angelic vision of 'Street Angel' that I had! I will always think of that now too :(

I agree it's not my fave. but I'm trying not to take it so seriously. The music is what is important.
In the beginning I didn't love the title "Trouble in Shangri~La" either, but it grew on me. Street Angel is still my least favorite album title though.

I instantly loved Trouble In Shangri La because it was so different than anything I had ever heard, from any artist, and the namesake song was an orgasm to my ears, so that helped

I'm so sorry. :(
I just can't take anything seriously when it has the word "Street" in it. To me, Stevie was trying too hard to be modern / down with the kids / urban / whatever with that title... and while she may have wanted/hoped it sounded mystical and romantic... it's just a bit too real for me.
Now, Trouble In Shangri-La... wonderful album title. I can't praise that one enough.

If the album is truly wonderful, then I couldn't care less what the title is.

I liked Street Angel for a title. In Your Dreams isn't terrible, I don't suppose, just not terribly creative. But it's not as bad as Say You Will, and I'll get used to it.

I like "The Ghosts Are Gone" better as a CD title, but "In Your Dreams" has a lushness and romantic feeling to it, and by early accounts that seems to be the overall tone of the album. I have a feeling nothing really rocks out on this new CD, but rather the songs have a deeper, more reflective sound to them. I'm thinking more in line with Sarah McLachlan than Melissa Etheridge.

It has that nicks gypsy vibe that i'm tiring of......but the music is what counts baby. If she can pull off the album I've been waiting YEARS for.....then it's all OK:nod:

Street Angel was a HORRIBLE name for an album. I like the title of this album. Different meanings can be taken and the album is supposed to be dreamy.
Deep, dreamy songs is what I bet the album is like.

She could have titled it "Street Angel II: The Return of the Chimpanzee" I wouldn't have cared. I'm just glad there's some new Stevie solo material.
I'm SO excited about this!!!

I for one, love the title.
I thinks its a ponder on Dreams, for the song was about her feelings and ''In Your Dreams' is her view on someone else's feelings.

Street Angel is easily my favorite Stevie solo album title. Easily.
ETA: In Your Dreams might be my second favorite, but not so far-and-away the best as Street Angel.

I guess it's the "In' in "In Your Dreams" that makes it sound like a joke. Just "Your Dreams" or "In Dreams" would have worked better, IMHO...

She has to sell cd's in a world that doesn't have space for what she's producing, US radio is so odd that most of what she has to go on is name recognitions...In Your Dreams - Stevie Nicks - Fleetwood Mac - Dreams = Album sale to a casual listener.

I had to laugh. I was just thinking about that....about Stevie's album titles...and how even Street Angel is a better title than "In Your Dreams." At least Street Angel is somewhat original. "In Your Dreams" is depressingly unoriginal and generic. Yuck! She has driven the word "Dreams" into the ground. Then again, the title may convey a bitchy response to someone expecting something unrealistic, and her response would be "Yeah...right...in your dreams!"

How about a title without any Dreams? That would work much better!

If that is the case, then she should have named her new album "Fleetwood Mac." Brilliant!

Kvetching on The Ledge? About a title? About anything? I dun't believe it!
'In Your Dreams' is just dandy.
Or dandy enough.
And it's a new cd!
Yay!
"I'll kvetch tomorrow."
P.S.
Eons ago, in a Rolling Stone 'Mirage' review, mentioning "Straight Back," the critic wrote something along the lines of "if only someone were to banish the woman from ever using the word 'dream' in any lyric she ever writes again"
Her belated reply, 29 years later: "IN YOUR DREAMS!!"
Take that, Rolling Stone! :)

I don't think the casual listener even knows the title of that song. They think it's called Thunder Only Happens When It's Raining. So, to lure them in, she should have named it something to do with players loving you in dry thunder.
