Mark & Brian of KLOS announced today that Stevie will be touring this spring with Rod Stewart. Tour is to begin March 20th in Ft. Lauderdale at the Bank Atlantic Centet and end April 16th at the Hollywood Bowl. I'm sure they'll talk it up today on Ellen. I live in LA and am not a big fan of the bowl.

Unfortunately I won't be attending this- I'll live vicariously through other Ledgies. But a summer tour in support of "In Your Dreams" (that's really cool that we can say that now), I will definitely be there!
Well, I'd love to go to the Philly show though it is on a Tuesday night. But the Phillies are also there that night playing the Mets. I don't know if my husband can get off from work early & I know he'd say that he'd rather see the Phillies anyway. The parking may be a problem. I'll have to see what the ticket prices are going to be like & then we'll decide or I'll decide. ;)

Looking forward to March 26th, @ MSG. I saw Stevie play there in 86, and I saw Rod there in 89, and both were magical shows, with great audience feedback, which no doubt enhances the performance. So definitely excited to see the both of them together.

That was unbelievably brilliant,
Stevie, &, her "band" were right on target with their live rendition of "Stand Back",
it was absolutley amazing to see Stevie, Waddy, Jimmy, Lenny, Al, Carlos, Ricky, Sharon, &, Lois, blast us with an awesome version of Stand Back,
(too bad there was not a reprise),
disappointed not to see DavidMn, &, HejiraNYC in the audience,
anyway, the 28th January 2011, The Joint, 8177 West Pico, LA, just to touch base with the best R&R band around before they hit the road with Stevie

Ha Ha. What's not to love Viv. Stevie has given us all another great opportunity to enjoy, and I am grateful for that. Any way she goes about bringing us into her world is cool. The new album is also a treat. I don't have any preference as to what she puts out, rather than just a great feeling of the newness of it all, it truley brings me much joy. Thank you Stevie.

Tour Opening March 20, 2011 at Bank Atlantic Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Tickets On-Sale Beginning January 21, 2011
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ROD STEWART and STEVIE NICKS announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing today, Thursday, January 13, (check local listings) that they have joined forces for one of the most anticipated musical events of the year, THE HEART & SOUL TOUR. Launching March 20, 2011 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the tour will unite two of music’s most legendary forces for a series of arena concerts throughout North America - with performances already confirmed in New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Tampa, Montreal and more. Fans can tune-in to the show on Thursday, January 13 and log-on to watch their exclusive interview and performances. The tour will feature both artists performing all rock & roll sets from their incomparable catalogs of hits and backed by an incredible band of musicians and stage production. Tickets go on sale beginning Friday, January 21, visit rodstewart.com for details.
Said Rod Stewart: “We haven’t yet begun rehearsals but I can already tell you this, with Stevie on board our audiences are in store for an evening of pure rock & roll music. I’m already thinking about which of my old favourites to bring back and vocally, I think we’ve both begun thinking about which songs might be great fun and well-suited for a duet or two.”
In a career spanning five decades, with an estimated 250 million album and single sales, Rod Stewart is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and indisputably one of the most successful performers of all time. He finished 2010 at the top of both the touring and album charts - highlighted by his critically-heralded, sold-out first run of concerts at The Colosseum in Las Vegas, a “Boxscore,” chart-topping, 33-date European summer tour which included 4 sold-out dates at London’s O2 Arena. Throughout his prolific career, he’s garnered 16-Grammy nominations, including his current for “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album," and sales of more than one million albums worldwide for his 2010 album FLY ME TO THE MOON…THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK, VOLUME V.
Stevie Nicks, Rock and Roll's reigning queen, will be releasing her highly anticipated new CD “IN: YOUR DREAMS” on May 3, 2011. The new album, her first album of new material in a decade, was co-produced by former Eurythmic Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard. The new album is now available for fans to pre-order at stevienicks.warnerreprise.com. Fans who pre-order the CD will receive an instant download of the record's first single, the Nicks’ penned "Secret Love.” The official release date of the single is February 3rd. Nicks is a multi-Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and member of Fleetwood Mac.

Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet... Perhaps those $500 tickets are for some kind of "experience," e.g., backstage tour, VIP parking, free food, merchandise, etc. However, if that's just for a seat and nothing else, eff this shizz! Not paying that kind of money to see Rod Stewart.

Can I just take a moment to say that I ****ing love this? For the first time in FOREVER, something talks about Stevie Nicks and mentions Fleetwood Mac last. I hate that even when she does solo stuff, it seems like FLEETWOOD MAC pops up in the first sentence.

Well, unlike many, I love the demo of Secret Love, but when I heard it was her new single I was bummed. I love the demo, but not so much that I cared to see her revive it. And I wasn't bummed so much that she chose to record it, I was bummed that it was the single. I was so ready to hear some NEW Stevie Nicks and the first thing I get in 8 years is a recycled song I have already heard plenty of times. But I went ahead and pre-ordered the album anyway, because even if it is an old song, it is a new recording and I must hear it! I must say after hearing it, my feelings made a complete 180! I love love love it! And I feel it is far superior to the demo! I still kinda wish she would have chosen more of a rocker as her single, but I'm thinking her second single will be a rocker that will debut around May 3.

If I do go to the show it will be at Mohegan Sun Arena only if the tickets are with in reason and I can swing it other wise will miss it I am sure she will be around again to tour this new cd at the middle or end of the summer fall tour 2011 if she comes around then will see the show otherwise. I am more excited about the new cd/dvd than the pricey Rod Stewart tour i hope its with in reason.

I'm not sure where they came up with the "Heart & Soul" Tour title, but I just got an e-mail today notifying me of a Kenny G show for his "Heart & Soul" Tour, I guess that is the name of his latest album.
Just thought that was a strange co-inky-dink.
PS - Just to be clear... I am not a Kenny G fan, but I have seen many shows at the venue he is playing here and I am on their mailing list, not his.... "Don't Treat Me Like A Kenny G Fan...."

I decided not to splurge on the $500 seats at The Hollywood Bowl here in L.A. and instead decided on the cheap seats ($148, ha!) and will save up the money for the all important solo tour. I'm still pissed at the $500 price tag for prime seating. I would so much have preferred for her to just tour solo. Instead the ticket prices are totally inflated because of all those darn Rod Stewart fans!

You are equipped with about 97 percent certainty knowledge that she WILL be touring JUST SOLO in the very near future, so you have the option to wait. Since the album won't be out yet, I doubt Stevie is going to do any new material except maybe one new song. Here is what I think her setlist might look like:
Stand Back
Outside The Rain
If Anyone Falls
New Song (Secret Love?)
Dreams
Gold Dust Woman
Landslide
Duet with Rod Stewart
Circle Dance (LOL)
I Need To Know
Face The Promise (LOL)
Edge of Seventeen
Rock and Roll (LOL)
Has Anyone Ever Written...(dedicated to the shooting victims in Arizona, I think Stevie would feel very strongly about that since she has Arizona roots)
After the album drops and she's finished with the 13 Rod Stewart tour dates, perhaps another tour later in the summer, this time strictly promoting the new album.
I couldbe wrong. Just a hunch.
I think your set list is too long for this Rod outting. Maybe 8 songs.

Oh, oh, I see it clear: Stevie and Rod embracing and singing a duet while Kenny plays sax, same mic for the three of them… In my horrible nightmare I even recognized the song: “You don’t bring me flowers”...
I don’t know who was the one planning this tour, but the whole thing sucks. We don’t want to see Rod Stewart. And who cares about DAVE Stewart? The only Stewart we would love to hear dueting with Stevie is Sandy, and this is not going to happen… So please, no Rod, no Dave, no covers... And no Kenny G!!

Standback
Gold Dust Woman
How Still My Love
Landslide
Edge of Seventeen
Love Is
I can't believe I'm saying this butttt... the only way I'm going is if I can get cheap tickets the day of the show. Ya see, last year I paid about $115 bucks a ticket to see Tom Petty and CSN (I'd say comparable to the Rod Stewart/Stevie bill- at least in my mind) in Atlanta. I bought my tickets through Ticketmaster a few days after they went on sale. Well that was all fine and dandy until the morning of the show when I checked ticketmaster and they had last minute/need to fill the seats up tickets for $20...in the same section my tickets were for. Should I be worried about getting a ticket? I'll be driving 4 hours to maybe go see the show.
I'd pay twice that much for Stevie solo...possibly triple for Fleetwood Mac. But Stevie and Mr. Hot Legs... I donno.

Im skipping this tour too. Closest venue for me is hollywood bowl, which is the last show of the tour and its on a saturday night. Odds of getting good seats are slim, not to mention the top tier ticket price on tm is $319. Id pay that much to see steve solo, but not sharing the stage. Hopefully when she solo tours she will hit orange county and/or san diego area.

I doubt they will do a song together. :sorry: I wish they would - I actually don't mind Rod's music (mostly his older stuff.)
I know she did a few with Henley & vice versa in '05, but the Two Voices tour was billed as more of a special event pairing. I mean, her shows with Chris Isaak yielded no duets. So I would be pleasantly surprised, but I'm not holding my breath.

Agreed. It will probably be the single duet they will do during Stevie's set. I think she'll probably join him on one of his songs during his set as well, and maybe one more at the end of the show. Her setlist will probably end up looking something like this:
Fall From Grace
Outside The Rain
Dreams
Secret Love
Sorcerer
If Anyone Falls
Leather And Lace (w/ Rod)
Rhiannon
Stand Back
Gold Dust Woman
Landslide
Edge Of Seventeen
Love Is
Maybe Rod will sing Rhiannon and Stevie will sing Do you think I'm sexy. Forget the duet. They should straight up mock each other. I would pee my pants a little. He he.

Yikes, I hope they have the good sense not to attempt "Leather and Lace." His voice is not suited for that kind of subtle, aching, romantic vocal that Don Henley perfected. Rod needs something raggedy like "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around." Plus, I put little stock in the fact that it was the song that occurred to him off the top of his head when he was put on the spot in an interview.
More likely they'll do a cover at the encore (along the lines of "So You Wanna Be a Rock and Roll Star") - if they do anything at all.
Time will tell if I'll have to eat my words!

^No, kidding, already?! I guess Rod still is a big draw and this could be very smart. Wonder if the tour will get more dates added to it beyond the additional MSG show. I can't remember the last time SN or FM sold out a concert this quickly. Years and years. Probably 'The Dance' '97 tour.

Of course they are going to do at least one song together! Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to have their head examined. No offense, but, seriously. All gimmick double-bill tours have at least one collaboration... and the fact that Rod talked about it on Ellen? (where he was on the same stage as Stevie promoting their tour?)

And this package is only together for +/- 30 days. Save for one or two more dates added, WYSIWYG.

I think the 2nd MSG show is now the 14th show announced, or am I way off? Would you predict or prefer not to, that it could turn into 30 dates, if sales are strong?
I wonder if it is a purposely short tour to see if Rod's voice can stand the strain of singing rock again. I think this will be his first rock tour since his throat (thyroid) cancer surgery years ago.

Rod's team has been promoting the crap out of the show. This week he going on Larry King. Those shows are going to sale out. He's happy. He wanted rock n roll and he thinks that Stevie is a guarantee that it's going to be rock n roll. They are going to make oodles of money from this. Not St. Louis, no chance. Not with KC already being on the 12th. Denver fits, assuming (as they should be able to) they can clear the 13th from Nuggets/Avalanche playoff holds (which shouldn't be a problem)
My opinion, though? There won't be a show added in that window.

Nothing will be on the 14th- they won't do three in a row. Denver is certainly larger than KC, and a far better concert market (generally speaking)... its definitely the "favorite" out of anything that could be added in that spot.

It seems that dates are being added to the Rod+Stevie tour, which makes me wonder about the fate of her solo tour. I just can't imagine her going out alone a few months later to sing all the same songs again. Outside of her devoted fan base that follows her every move, the general public is not going to be saying "I'll wait until she's performing solo." They have no idea she's going to be going out again this summer, which is why the majority of people that like her, will most likely think this Rod+Stevie show is the one to see.
As a promoter, how can they re-package her for a later solo tour? She either will be playing only select cities at smaller venues, or the solo tour is going to offer something much different in songs sung. If I was organizing her solo tour, I'd have her perform 4 songs from the new album, then have an online contest in every city booked, posting 5 catalog songs rarely if ever performed, and have people who purchase tickets then have the opportunity to choose which 2 songs they want to her her sing in their city. The top 2 vote-getting songs would be performed, and the remainder of the show would be chestnuts of her choosing.
The only other possible plan that may be in the motion is hoping the Rod+Stevie tour catches fire, they add on another late summer leg, and she then performs whatever 1-2 songs from the new CD that have become fan favorites by summer.
Thoughts???

Of course, we are making, in my opinion, the rather bold assumption that Stevie actually wants to tour her solo album, and isn't just content with this month out with Rod and her usual mishmash of casinos & zoo amphitheaters (following the Don Henley template)

If this tour with Rod is a smash success, I predict they (LiveNation, Stevie & Rod's management) will push to ride it out as long as they can, while cross promoting both Rod & Stevie's latest releases. So if that the case I can totally see the possibility of a 2nd leg added for the summer. As of now the tour dates end April 16th, just in time for Stevie to concentrate on promoting In Your Dreams in press/radio & TV. while possibly do a few smaller things with Dave Stewart. So if this Heart & Soul mini tour hints to be as successful as the Taylor/King outing, Stevie stands to bank major$$, and she is the practical one, has a huge entourage to support and loves being part of the big rock n' roll pomp and circumstance.

doing a full on Stevie Nicks solo tour (without any hangers on) to support her first new album in ten years would be an excellent vehicle to "reinvent" her live show and add some much needed newness into the Stevie Nicks brand. Instead, we will be seeing a shortened version of the same live show we've she's done for the past ten or so years which has become nothing more than an oldies act. Another missed opportunity...Maybe it's time Stevie retires to Vegas so she can sing Rhiannon and Stand Back 5 times a week.

From what I can tell, the scope of this tour with Rod is extremely limited. Sure, they can tack on more dates, but I just don't foresee this as being some kind of traveling circus that goes on for the entire summer. I suspect that the Hollywood Bowl date(s) is a hard-stop for Stevie since she will probably spend the next few weeks pushing her album hard- doing print and TV interviews, doing the chat show circuit, perhaps even a CD signing! And Rod appears to have some European dates in June that may/may not be part of a larger Euro trek for him.
As a promoter, how can they re-package her for a later solo tour? She either will be playing only select cities at smaller venues, or the solo tour is going to offer something much different in songs sung.
I suspect that Stevie's hardcore base (which seems to be within a 200 mile radius of NYC and LA!) will turn out no matter what. Stevie, as well as FM, always criss-cross these areas multiple times during a single tour. That leaves the other 90% of the country, which has been largely bypassed on this Two (non) Blondes Tour. Major markets like DC, SF, Dallas, Houston, Seattle, Denver, Minneapolis, Cleveland, Houston, etc. have yet to be tapped.
If I was organizing her solo tour, I'd have her perform 4 songs from the new album, then have an online contest in every city booked, posting 5 catalog songs rarely if ever performed, and have people who purchase tickets then have the opportunity to choose which 2 songs they want to her her sing in their city. If/when Stevie does her own solo tour during the summer (two months, give or take), I seriously doubt she will be up for doing another leg with Rod immediately thereafter; Mama gotta get a load off her feets! IF there is a second leg with Rod, it will probably extend into the fall. I do hope she doesn't do this. I hope she ends her solo tour in the summer, retreats to her safe place, and starts writing songs for the next FM album or works on the Rhiannon project or something. The fact that she still has not recorded/released any of these Rhiannon songs gives me some hope that the project is still alive and that she is merely hoarding these songs until she is ready to start working in earnest.

Was the first MSG show truly a "sellout?" I suspect that they are trying to create an artificially constrained inventory of seats to spur demand for a second show.
Also, weren't prices to the James Taylor/Carole King shows a bit cheaper- like in the $125-135 tops? Surely ticket price weighs in heavily on the demand side of the concert biz!

With all due respect, there is absolutely zero chance that she will not tour off the release of this new CD. Stevie finds a reason to tour pretty much every year (even when most of the time, there's really no reason for her to). Do you really think she's going to skip over the opportunity to tour off her first CD in a decade? Not gonna happen. She will definitely tour by herself this year - Starting no earlier than May and no later than July - I promise ;)

Yes, I am surprised they would do 3 in a row but she is only playing 75 min. I'm sure the money has ALOT to do with adding shows--especially in LA. She is home and that is likely the end of the line for the tour.

It only took 15-20 shows on the Unleashed tour for her vocals to completely slip. I don't understand why she doesn't take longer breaks in between shows. Even if she did a show every two days, it would be better for her. I can only imagine how much energy it must take to travel, let alone put on a 2 hour rock show. I'm thinking that a San Jose show is in the offing for either Wed April 20/Thu April 21, with Tacoma on Sat April 23, Vancouver Sun April 24. Just going to get that on record as educated speculation (I have no inside scoop on this).
I tend to think the tour will end with the Hollywood Bowl shows, though... its just nagging at me that the Bay Area wasn't simply "skipped", and the general knowledge that Saturday nights at the Tacoma Dome (to cover the Seattle/Portland markets) have historical proven just too juicy for Live Nation to pass up just makes me think it could happen

Yep. I think once Stevie's album is released in May, the Rod /Stevie love affair will come to a screeching halt and she'll be in the arms of another man, namely Dave Stewart for the summer and fall. She's such a BAD girl!
LukeA

This tour w/ Rod undercuts her ability to tour solo in any of the markets that the package is hitting. That's why I'm thinking there won't be a "proper" solo tour, unless you consider her playing sheds in the markets that were missed & the usual casinos a "proper" solo tour. She can't do a show at, say, Jones Beach this summer... not after playing MSG twice.

I have no idea, and I wouldn't be surprised if Camp Stevie doesn't know either at this point. There'll be a lot of factors at play in deciding whether to continue Heart and Soul, and they're probably trying to keep options open at this point.
But if the tour starts off on a King/Taylor trajectory (I don't think it'll reach those levels, but that's what they're aiming for), I don't think they'll part ways in May.
It's debatable whether this partnership is good or bad for Stevie (I'm leaning towards good, at this point). But the person who very definitely loses in all of this? Dave Stewart. The man timed his release to Stevie's and planned on touring with her. Now even if she does tour solo this summer it'll likely be on a smaller scale than it would have been, and publicity leading up to the release will focus on the tour and Rod Stewart involvement.
Although if there's any truth to the rumours, Stevie may decide to ditch Rod earlier than necessary and tour with Dave for reasons more personal than professional.

I highly doubt this tour will last past April. I was surprised that Stevie signed on the be an opening act to begin with, so I believe she is doing this mainly to finance her record. I think her shows back in August helped bring in some cash for making the record and now this Rod tour will help bring in cash to promote the album. Plus, it got her name out there again. But I don't think Stevie is just joining in on this tour for ****s and giggles and would willingly sail on thru June or July promoting her album as an opening act. I also don't think it is going to kill her market for a summer tour. I'm sure her summer tour will start up in late May/early June and will run thru August and all the places she hit with Rod will be the last places she hits again at maybe a smaller venue with lower ticket prices.

Stevie has plenty of money. Funds gained from performing didn't necessarily pay for any recording activity. She did the tour with Rod because a package tour is the only way she would be able to play large venues as a solo act, and receive the commensurate paycheck.

Why would Stevie play at a smaller venue with lower ticket prices? I'm not being flip. Seriously, why? What/where is the indication that she would ever so such a thing? (looking for a more plausible reason than "for the fans/album")

Those of you who think that now that Stevie has album to promote that she'll be hitting every market to tour with it (as if that isn't a concept that died off somewhere around 1995), Rod Stewart be damned, should take a closer look at what happened with 2001's "tour to promote TISL". Shows were being canceled (and not re-scheduled) left and right, while at the same time, shows were being added in markets where she could make the most money (casinos/repeat plays of bigger markets), resulting in a scenario where Stevie barely touched the Midwest.

Stevie does have plenty of money, but why would she ever want to finance her own album out of her pocket? Especially when she has opportunities given to her where she could bring in plenty of money to finance the new album and still give her some profit. I think both last years summer tour and the Rod tour were presented to her and she maybe wasn't initially open to the ideas, but she decided to undertake them so she could offset any money she is having to spend on this album. Granted, she could end up touring with him all summer, I just think she'd rather tour on her own, even if it means she may not make as much money. Why would she play smaller venues with a lower ticket price? Supply and demand. There is a much higher demand for Rod Stewart AND Stevie Nicks because you are drawing fans from both fan bases, therefore they have to play larger venues and have the freedom to charge astronomical prices. But when Stevie tours on her own, there is much less demand. Therefore she doesn't have to freedom to play 20,000 seat venues like MSG. Therefore she'd probably hit a smaller venue, such as a 5000-10,000 seat venue, or even Jones Beach, but the tickets would have to be priced significantly lower than Heart & Soul tour to draw in more people, lower prices= higher demand, and the date would have to be late summer. The tour will definitely affect her market in the summer, but not by any unmanageable means. I'm not saying she's going to rock out at Antone's with $35 tickets

Hmmm... okay... but wouldn't the laws of supply and demand dictate that the larger the supply, i.e., the larger the arena; the lower the demand, i.e., ticket prices? The facts are simply that with the Heart and Soul tour, you're supposedly getting twice the bang for the buck; surely people would have had to pay $100+ for tickets to see them individually, so they're getting about a 25% "package discount." So, yes, inevitably the ticket prices will go down and the venues will get smaller when they tour separately, but that has more to do with getting less product rather than less demand.
I think if/when Stevie does her own solo tour behind the album, she will come back to a number of these markets again, but instead of playing multiple dates within 100-200 miles of each other, she will play one or two. In the greater NYC area, she used to play PNC Bank Arts Center + Atlantic City + Jones Beach + Mohegan. Now I'm thinking she will just hit the casinos in AC and CT and bypass the sheds. She will also go to the markets she skipped, like Cleveland, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, D.C., SF, Seattle/Tacoma, Vegas, St. Louis, Minneapolis, etc. Perhaps places like Kansas City will be skipped the second time around...

The goal is to reach market equilibrium. There is an excessively overwhelming demand for Stevie Nicks AND Rod Stewart when they are only playing 16 shows, so to lower the demand to something manageable, they have huge venues at higher prices and add a few shows to the places that are selling out. That then affects the market in the areas they play, but people here are making it seem as if Stevie won't be able to tour those general areas again in the summer. All I am saying is she easily can if she tours those places as late as possible, and in the worst case scenario, they may have to drop the ticket prices and play a somewhat smaller venue than normal to increase the demand instead of just skipping NY all together.
Just because she's not touring doesn't mean she's not traveling....
I'm not saying anything about her traveling. I'm saying that over the past decade, Stevie has managed to tour every year even if she had nothing new to promote. To think she is going to sit this summer out when she has a brand new album to promote is absurd.

I would be surprised if she didn't tour for In Your Dreams on some scale, but I am not so foolish as to insist that my speculation is definitive and everyone else's is delusional. Even well-informed speculation can still prove groundless depending on changing circumstance - remember the Fleetwood Mac / Eagles tour rumors that came to nothing?
Time will tell.
I don't dislike The Nightmare at all.
Well, I must say that in my opinion, its name is very apt. ;)

Everything is speculation at this point, of course... but well-informed speculation based on *certain* circumstance (assuming, say, the two MSG shows go on as planned) has merit.
And you know just as well as I do that the FM/Eagles tour was more than just a rumor.

both artists performing all rock & roll sets from their incomparable catalogs of hits and backed by an incredible band of musicians and stage production.
Stage production? Wonder if we will get this Fabulous stage set? As we all know Stevie's set are pretty blah? And thats just fine by me.

Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks have added a Vancouver stop to their co-headlining tour, which was named one of Billboard magazine's best bets of 2011. Hot Rod and the Fleetwood Mac frontwoman, who launch their "Heart & Soul" tour next month in Florida, will perform at Rogers Arena April 22. Tickets start at $25 and go up to $235 (plus the usual service charges), and go on sale Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.ca and Livenation.com.

Rod Stewart Refuses To Rehearse With Stevie Nicks
Stevie Nicks will have to live with compromise ahead of her tour with Rod Stewart, says the British singer, because she likes to rehearse and he doesn't.
Stewart has just become a dad for the eighth time after wife Penny Lancaster gave birth to a boy called Aiden on Wednesday. The proud dad already has plenty on his plate for this year including his upcoming tour with Nicks and a long-awaited album with former bandmate Jeff Beck.
He reports: "In the Faces we never rehearsed. I always liked there to be an element of risk in any show. When things go wrong I love it – so we'll have to meet in the middle."

I never know what I will end up doing, but right now I am thinking I really don't want to see Rod Stewart to see Stevie, and will wait for the 'In Your Dreams' proper tour after May.
Sure, it'd be cool to see her sing on 'First Cut Is The Deepest' but I don't know. I've never wanted to see Rod Stewart before, so maybe it comes down to that. Youngsters here don't know, probably, but in your 40s, it gets depressing to see an arena filled with 50 and 60 somethings, which happens a lot. People in their 3os and 40s I can deal with, and I do enjoy seeing the younger crowd, but really, they're outnumbered by far.
I don't need thousands of people older than me reminding me how old I am and that I've been seeing my favorite singer since I was a teenager, or hearing about getting older again in 'Landslide'- Ugh, already. She'd actually retired 'Landslide' for a tour or two. Retire it again!
Plus, invariably I get seated next to a 55 year old housewife and always have some fat-ass security guard crush against me to get to someone with a camera or cell recording the show. How I wish they'd find a new way to crack down that doesn't involve stepping on me.
I find it interesting that more than usually, the cost is a factor- I think we accept it for SN or FM, but throw Rod Stewart in his late or mid-late 6os into the mix, and it kind of makes me think once, twice, or ten times about it. The security thing is intolerable, I understand it, but it's never me doing it, and it's just an intrusion.
See you there.

I'm skipping it. It's way too expensive for a show where she shares the stage and time with someone else. Not to mention getting a good seat at the Hollywood Bowl wouldn't be an easy feat. I'm gonna save my $$ to go to 2-3 shows when she solos for IYD.
I was thinking that the level of success of the Rod/Stevie tour will probably determine what size venues she will play when she solo tours. If the Rod /Stevie tour only has moderate success as a double-bill show, don't you guys think that Stevie will probably play smaller venues when she tours for IYD?? I'm interested to hear your thoughts on that...

She's going to play pretty much the same setlist (with a few tweeks) that she played last year. I'm mean, she's playing in front of a lot of fans who are coming to hear Rod Stewart.. I don't think she'll stray too much from her perpetual setlist.. I mean if she can't mix it up at her solo shows when she's the star, I doubt she will mix it up too much with the audience she'll be playing in front of... hopefully we will get "Secret Love"
This is not a criticism, just how I feel the concert show with Rod Stewart will play out. I'm just really looking forward to seeing her in New York at the Garden.. I think if she rocks out like she did last summer, she may acquire quite a few new fans.. it might be the same old songs to us, but too a lot of folks coming to these shows.. it's going to be Stevie Nicks live that they probably had no idea how she can rock it.. it will be fresh too them.. and they are coming to hear the "hits"... just saying..

I'm also going to the Garden. I can't wait! Although I'm upset that they're not playing the Verizon Center in DC.
I can't imagine her playing You Wreck Me and Face the Promise at these shows. I hope she at least brings back Stop Draggin' My Heart around, even if it's with Waddy. I'm guessing she'll play at most 15 songs.
It's funny that a lot of Rod's hits are covers.

wish there was a DC verizon center show, since I live near the arena and it would be a much better ride..
BUT, I will make up any reason to visit New York City, since i find it to be the most fascinating place... I could wander around the East Village for days just taking it all in... even working on getting tickets to the Garden next weekend for the Big East Tourney to see my Irish play.
anyways, back to the topic on hand. I've been checking the Ticketmaster god daily, hopefully pulling up a "front of the floor" section seat.. pulled up an aisle seat in section 228 this morning and went ahead and bought it. This is the same section that I saw Bruce Springsteen and the ESB back in 2009 when they played - front to back - the Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle.. if only Stevie would play the complete Wild Heart in the same fashion.. only "in your dreams".. I had such a good time in section 228 that night - the fan next to me who traveled from England just to see the boss was so much fun to be around.. thanks for the beer and that great New York audience..
I've seen many concerts and sporting events at the Garden, and I have to say the New York City crowds are the best... the last time Fleetwood Mac was there, I had the best "pit" experience ever.. DC crowds really do pale to how they enjoy the shows at the Garden - New Yorkers work hard.. and play hard!! Of course I would have went to the DC show if there was one.. but I still would be going up to New York City... gotta support my girl in the big A.

I would have to agree with you. I've seen numerous shows at the Garden, and Ranger games. The audience is electric. It's almost as if the performers kick it up a notch or two. It's really unreal. I was fortunate enough to see Stevie there on her RAL tour, and 2 RAL shows at Jones Beach. I loved all 3 shows from that tour, well just because the whole RAL experience was a trip to begin with, but the Madison Square Garden show was over the top. The same experience with Rod Stewart. I had seen 3 shows of the same tour, but the show at MSG was the most special, by far. The band and the audience fuel each other, and it definitely makes for a rocking good time. I CAN'T WAIT I CAN'T WAIT !

I feel you. Having seen tons of shows on both the east and west coasts the west coast fans pale in comparision to east coast fans. Even though I live in CA I'd take an east coast show any day over west coast.

I agree about the garden. I was at that bruce show and the night after when he played the river.
hope the crowd is the same for rod and Stevie.

.
I was at the River show also... being my favorite Bruce record, I paid a lot of money to see this show and it was so worth it.. and I have to applaud the New York
City audience.. they respectfully listened to the whole double album.. no obnoxious drunks.. no loud interruptions.. just a truly grateful crowd that gave Bruce and the Band a standing ovation when they finished "Wreck on the Highway" what a night.. thank you New York City.. I have a beautiful bootleg of this show that I listen to very often..
"little by little.. we drifted from each other's heart..." "I'm driving a stolen car.. on a pitch black night.. and I'm telling myself.. I'm gonna be all right.."

I would have to say of all the places I've seen shows, the most enthustiastic crowds were in the midwest actually. Especially Cleveland. East coast are very good though.:)

and hi David. I agree about the midwest. What did Christine say in the Tusk documentary.. "great midwestern audience..." those rowdy midwesterners...'
but New York City... now that's a night...

April 15, I plan on going to see Stevie & Rod. I'm a little confused about this tour? I'm sure this has been asked. Is Stevie opening for Rod? Rod opening for Stevie? Stevie and Rod together for the show?
If Stevie opens up, I'm guessin she play for 45 min or maybe they will equal her time along with Rods time.
Also with her new album will she tour this Summer or Fall to promote it?

Stevie will go on first and then rod will go on. There will be a part of the show where they'll sing together.
Stevie said in a detroit rock radio interview that she'll be playing for 75 minutes. Stevie also said that she'll be touring after her in your dreams comes out. I'm guessing she'll tour spring into summer, maybe fall.

Good info, and I'll necessarily make the "shouldn't it be the other way around?" that everyone's thinking here.
And skcin - yes the tickets are ridiculously expensive. I guess they know people like me will pay it.

I would just love it if Stevie sang, "Tonight's The Night" with Rod. Number one, that is such a perverted song and number two, I would dig hearing Stevie sing the words, "stay away from my backdoor too..." Sorry but I just heard this song and you all know how my mind works.

my first initial feeling is to check out of the Ledge for the next few days so I won't be privvy to any setlist information before my show on Saturday..
but I will probably give in... looks like the show is a go.. since no cancellation notice.. keeping my fingers crossed.
so if Stevie has 75 minutes.. i would expect the following..
Dreams without Outside the Rain (i hope not..)
Rhiannon without the piano vocal..
Edge without the walk..
omitting the above will probably shave a good 25 minutes or so from the setlist..
add "Secret Love" and take out the covers (except I do dig "You Wreck Me")
ahh.. so good to have our Lily back on the stage.. hit it Stevie..

Yes, most definitely post the setlist. I'm a setlist junkie. I'll do one for the Atlanta show and get it posted as well. I also post all of the setlists to the concerts that I attend over on setlist.fm. (If you haven't visited the setlist.fm website before, it's an awesome resource.)
