When I was in college I worked at a college radio station and we had to play those Mary Turner interviews, which were actually on records that were sent to the station, and yes I'm dating myself because I did say "records" and not CDs. LOL. And I remember playing one that had a short interview with Stevie where she talked about how when she first came to LA she would pretend to be a dumb blond because then all the industry guys would talk in front of her thinking she didn't know what they were talking about. Then she would go and write it all down in her journals. It was kind of intense because she was very adamant that people know she's not stupid and that she had gotten a lot of dirt on a lot of people. I haven't heard this in years but I do remember distinctly that she said "they liked me because I was pretty and I had blonde hair and I could make sandwiches". Does anyone have this or know where it is. I swear it's Mary Turner but it might not have been. We had a few different shows that we would play. I'll have to dig through all my old LPs and see if I still have it anywhere but if someone has an mp3 of it, it would save me a lot of trouble.

And if nobody has it, then I'll look for it and try to rip it and maybe have a treat for you guys.

Hello,
Google Mary Turner and there is a website World News Mary Turner, and you will see a 1986 Rock A Little interview from 1986 on You Tube.

Hope this helped!

No, that's not it but thank you for posting that. It wasn't a full hour, it was only a short interview, about five or ten minutes in the middle of a longer show about all sorts of music and artists. It might not have even been Marty Turner, but I thought it was. I'm gonna have to dig and see if I have that record still. It was a great interview.

Hmm, that does sound familiar, I have over 150 radio show interviews (on LP) with Stevie dating back to 1975, but damned if I can remember which show that was on!!!!
