So I know that most of us are frustrated by the fact that nothing has happened since the three classic FM albums were re-released as deluxe editions quite a few years ago. Does anyone know why there are no plans to give the same treatment to Mirage and TITN, not to speak of Stevie's four 80s albums? Is it Mick and Stevie or Warner who are the reason for this delay/disinterest? Hopefully one day it will happen...

1. i dont think Warner was impressed by the sales of the first 3 re-issues
2. something about Warners not wasting anymore $$$ on Stevies back catalog, so it prob wont ever happen??

I think it will happen, just not right now. I think they don't feel like the market is right and remasters/re-issues are something they can always do later. Also, some of Stevie's albums went out of print last year (I think it was Wild Heart, Street Angel, and Rock A Little, but I'm not sure) so I think remasters/re-issues will come before too long.

Unless these were already compiled and are waiting in a vault somewhere, I (sadly) don't see these happening as the entire amazing team responsible for the 2004 reissues are no longer with Rhino/Warner Bros... victims of a massive label downsize. :distress:

I had really hoped for Mirage and Tango In The Night reissues at the very least, but it's now been 7 years (jesuschrist) since the first wave. At least many of the key singles were remastered for The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac in 2002 by the same team. Just imagine all of the b-sides, remixes and other outtakes we likely would have been treated to!

I'm still hoping that, since this is the 30th anniversary of the release of "Bella Donna", there will be a remaster (and hopefully an expanded one) coming out this year.

I think Warner will eventually release remastered editions of BD, TWH and possibly RAL. Don't think it will happen with SA. And if Warner doesn't want to do it, they can always licence to specialized reissue labels like Wounded Bird.

Wounded Bird's reissues are getting slimmer/cheesier with each year.....case in point, the Louise Goffin and Sandy Stewart reissues.

I think we may get an expanded BELLA DONNA.......SOME DAY!.....but I'M not holding my breath!

That is a very viable prospect! The thing is, it unreasonable to expect that reissues of old albums are going to sell big or appeal to new market audience. Reissues are a boutique kind of thing -- their market is largely die-hard fans.

There are number of great specialized labels that cater to this kind of audience. They often release rare stuff - obscure bands and stuff that will only sell to a small, severely limited market. Yet, they take great care in creating a quality product, produced in small quantities.

Given that Fleetwood Mac (including related solo ventures) still has a relatively large sustained fan base, it seems complety worthy, without question, for their catalog to be re-released (improved and extended).

If their own label is so completely indifferent to their fans and their legacy, I hope one of those labels will make an offer to Fleetwood Mac and Stevie.

personally my mindest right now is totally 100 percent focused on the "new" album, and I'm too thrilled with the fact it might be at our doorstep, to even be concearned with a lack of reissues. Sure in a perfect world we could actually get both, but I'm very glad its not the other way around, and Bella Donna was about to be reissued and there was a thread started having us all make odds of whether Stevie would ever record another album.

I agree with releasing them even if it is only in a LTD Edition amounts. I know I'd love to buy anymore re-issues of Fmac (expanded 'Live' 1980 LP as well with many extras )Mirage for sure Tango (though not my favorite) and Mask as well.
I still would 'love' Stevie to at least release or re-issue her solo 80's LP's BD/WH/RAL & Mirror. I would also love SA and TISL reissues too but I'm sure thats pushing it. Lindsey still needs his own Box set of his solo material with maybe a DVD of his solo videos also with extras and extended versions etc. Mac could also release there videos too. There is endless possiblies 'if' only the band and Stevie and Lindsey and I guess whatever company out there will at least research it --If not Warner/Reprise why not somebody like Rhino ?? they re-issue alot of artists material?? I know I'd love it if its done up right. I guess time will tell really but to me the time is now or soon. We've waited too long already. IMO though.:D:shrug:

I agree that we probably wont get anything - but in an ideal world I would love the following packages for each of the albums

DISC 1 - Remastered version of the original album
DISC 2 - Any outtakes , B-sides etc from that period
DISC 3 - Live Dvd from each era - put the HBO concert on Belladonna - but all of it , not the edited VHS version, same for Red Rocks etc. Plus add any single videos on from the relevant period as well. Plus some interview from that period as well

The only exception I would make to this would be for Rock a Little - Disc 2 - could be the "Mirror Mirror" track listing in in's entirity

I dont want much do I - Lol
