I love the Tango album painting. It's beautiful to me and reminds me of some tropic jungle locale. This here brings to mind that painting on the cover.

I'm not gonna lie, I love that cover too. BTW, was viv current siggy pic a possible cover for when it was a Lindsey solo album?

Als, I once heard the album was originally called Forbidden, then The Last Tango, before settling on Tango in the Night

I have no idea, but glad it's called Tango In The Night. It seems so fitting for the painting.

I thought it was based on Henri Rousseau's works. Particularly these:

The grass, not the lady, obviously

Well I like what they came up with, but I can kind of see it in some of the above. I don't know where they gather their inspirations really but sometimes it's really good.

At least they got good inspirations for that cover lol. I dunno what they were thinking with the Rumours one

Oh I love the Rumours cover and it wouldn't be the same without that iconic photo and pose.

The distinctive cover art for the album was a painting by Australian artist Brett-Livingstone Strong which was hanging in Buckingham's home. It is a homage to the 19th Century French painter Henri Rousseau, emulating his colourful jungle theme works such as The Snake Charmer and The Repast of the Lion. It was also used as the cover to the single release of 'Big Love', the first single released from the album.

From Wikipedia so I acknowledge the fact that it may be completely fabricated but I have read the same thing elsewhere, too.

It wouldn't be, but I was never crazy for the pic of Mick wearing his balls and Stevie tying his shoe, but it just wouldn't be the same

Well Mick is known the world over for his balls.

Wait...I think I got a song coming

I've got big balls
I've got big balls
They're such big balls
And they're fancy big balls
And he's got big balls
And she's got big balls
But we've got the biggest balls of them all!

Anyways, speaking of Big Mac covers, I think I hate the Behind the Mask cover, on account of it's not even the band members, it's a visual representation of 'em, which I never got.

And speaking of covers I love, I love the covers to the Metallica albums, especially Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets, mainly cause it fits the music inside so well

I thought the cover of Behind The Mask was uninspired and boring too. We could probably start another thread of nothing but cool album covers but this one here always seemed so cool to me. A tent in the middle of nowhere under a darkened sky. I don't like him these days because I think he tries being a Billy Bad Ass live, and so cocky to his paying fans, but I did always like this album cover. And for the record I have never seen him live, just fan videos as proof.

This is the photo in my sig. It was never intended as an alternate. That is just my sense of humor. You all get it, don'tcha? The painting Shane posted is very much like the Tango cover and the pictures of the grasses in Georgie's photos look like it too.

Not gonna lie- I absolutely love all of those paintings. Especially that tropical first one- totally my style!

The Tango In The Night album art in a way that I would describe it, is Romantic. I always think of Christine when I see this cover, and I associate her songs with it, especially Isn't It Midnight & Everywhere, since I think Everywhere is a romantically fun song!

What you're saying about the cover is correct. In the Tango liner notes, it says Cover Painting by Brett Livingstone Strong "Homage 'A Henri Rousseau"'.
