I have also spent my time the last few weeks trying to come up with a 6-CD that covers Stevie's complete career. All major artists that have been part of groups, like Sting, Tina Turner, Diana Ross and others, have compilations that combine their solo and group work. Get over it. A Stevie song is a Stevie song, no matter her back-up musicians. This compilation is designed to highlight the entire recording career (so far!) of the one and only Stevie Nicks!
I need to check all of these out on my iTunes to see if they fit on CDs for sure, but I'm at work and wanted to post it anyway. I mixed Stevie's entire career, and only used outtakes and demos that are of perfect sound quality, mostly from The Masters. I will probably edit the running order later if I have to subtract/add songs (I'm sure "Cathouse Blues" can fit on somewhere!), but I think these are some pretty awesome running orders! I hate singles separated from rarities, so everything is sequenced together. Here we go!

Great job Mike. I'd love a copy too!! I love it that you have 'Call On Me For Magic'. I've always wanted that song after I'd heard it. Thanks for all your hard work!!

Thanks! I've been saving that title for years! LOL! I almost put on the piano demo of "I Sing For The Things" from The Masters, but I just love Stevie's Rock A Little voice, so I used the album version.
I put 3 songs on there twice in different forms ("Rhiannon", "Stand Back" and "Sisters Of The Moon") since they are 3 of her most influential amongst fans. When I go back and edit, the album version of "Dreams" may make it on there as well.
Both the "24 Karat" and "Lady From The Mountains" versions I posted in the "Demos/Live Songs/Requests" thread in April. Again, I've always wanted to start off a CD with that particular "24 Karat", where Stevie is talking and being wonderfully cynical about fame and fortune.
The 1981 live version of "Gold And Braid" from Enchanted is on here, not one of the many studio versions ~ why? It's the best version: vocals, rocking band, Waddy's guitar solo (nowhere on any of the studio outtakes)... This is the version most of us fell in love with on the HBO concert in 1982, entranced by this incredible song we'd never heard before! This version is perfection, especially with Chris Lord-Alge's remixing.
Same with the album version of "Fireflies" over the chopped-up single versions: it's the best one with the most Stevie! I did use the single versions of "Say You Will" and "Sorcerer" because both went so well in the play lists.
I picked "Love's A Hard Game To Play" over "Sometimes It's A Bitch" because it flows better, although I personally prefer "Bitch". Plus, Stevie performed it live twice, so she must've liked it better as well. And the CL-A single remix is too amazing!
It would have been nice to use the outtake version of "Violet And Blue" for a difference, but the sound quality is not there. Same for "The Maker Of Birds", even though I MUCH prefer it over "Forest Of The Black Roses" (I think I'm in the minority, though). If a truly flawless sound copy of "She Still Loves Him" ever surfaces, nothing will keep it off the collection! This anthology is meant to have CD-perfect sound (I've made dozens others with less-than-perfect sound, too).
I really did rein myself in with the outtakes and demos. Of course, I could have put a different version of "Julia" on every CD and been happy, but that's not the purpose of the collection.
A few songs I'm still wishing I had room for: "That's Alright" (very different outtake from Mirage), "The Highwayman", "Imperial Hotel", "Cathouse Blues", "Castaway", "I Pretend" and a few others. We'll see!

I enjoy playing with Stevie compilations, and I love reading other fans' own lists as well! There are very few comprehensive compilations that I've seen, so I tried really hard to make up fun running orders.
I will admit to being torn about not adding in either "Circle Dance" or "Rock And Roll" (both from The Soundstage concert). Stevie really seemed to love both songs in concert from 2005-2008, so it was something I considered. But I decided to use "How Still My Love" from Soundstage instead, to utilize that era, plus "Stand Back" from 2005. Mostly, I wanted as many Stevie-written songs as possible.
But "Circle Dance" certainly was a significant song for Stevie in 2005... >sigh< Still torn!

From just looking over the list (which is fabulous, might I add, as well as the title!) it doesn't look like you added any covers, which I think it right, but if you wanted to add one cover just for the hell of it, because the song means a lot to Stevie, and because it's just kick ass when she performs it, I would include Circle Dance or Crash into Me for sure. Rock And Roll was really good, and she's a rock and roll woman, but I just wouldn't put it in this compilation.

Well, I've been fiddling with the playlists today (at work!), mainly to include my favourite outtake of "How Still My Love" (this involves some in-disc-movement). So, the Soundstage "How Still My Love" is out, and I think "Circle Dance" would fit in wonderfully between "Gypsy" and "Running Through The Garden".
Disc 2
1. Listen To The Rain - Street Angel
2. Rock A Little - Extended version from UK "I Can't Wait" 12-inch single (from Rock A Little)
3. Long Distance Winner - Buckingham Nicks (1998 remaster from Enchanted)

11. No Questions Asked - Fleetwood Mac: Greatest Hits 1988 (2002 remaster from The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac)
12. Inspiration - B-side of "Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind" (outtake from Street Angel)
13. Gypsy - Extended album version from The Chain (from Mirage)
14. Circle Dance - 2007 live version from The Soundstage Sessions
15. Running Through The Garden - Say You Will
16. Julia - Unreleased outtake from Bella Donna
17. Seven Wonders - Tango In The Night
18. Love Is - Unreleased demo (from Trouble In Shangri-la sessions)
Of course, this leaves "Kind Of Woman" temporarily homeless, but I'll find a place for her. This "How Still My Love" I also posted in April in the "Demos/Live/Requests" thread, my absolute favourite, WILD outtake!!! But now 2007 is represented with "Circle Dance", which I wanted to do.
OR... I may put the outtake of "How Still My Love" after "Gypsy" instead of the live version and leave "Kind Of Woman" where it is and find a different Stevie-written 2007 live version to represent that era on another disc.

And that's when it was performed best IMO. I saw the 2 Voices Tour and heard it performed with Henley, then twice solo that year on the Gold Dust tour and my favorite was when Stevie sang it by herself.
Listen to this performance from LA that year...this would fit nicely in your compilation. :D

Ooh, I was just listening to the following on Disc 3, flowing so awesomely together:
"Juliet"
"One More Big Time Rock And Roll Star"
"Not Make Believe"

I'm still tweaking the playlists! I'm thinking the demo of "Annabel Lee" should fit on somewhere, prepping for the new album!!!!

good job on this Mike. only thing missing would be 'Ghosts' ...for me. well, and 'Sister Honey'
as far as sequence and flowing, doesn't really matter much to me. i can pull up all my Stevie on itunes and just let it go radomly. it all sounds good together to me.
And...you must have a really good copy of '24 Karat' cause both demos i have are just awful!

What is "Call On Me For Magic"? I've never heard of that one! Is it available anywhere? Did Stevie write it? I'm dying to know!

Marty, "Call On Me For Magic" was recorded in 2000, not really from the Trouble In Shangri-la session, but kinda. It was written by the guy who wrote "Every Day" and Stevie recorded it for him, with a potential home for the song being on a soundtrack. I'm sure it's in the "Demos/Live/Requests" thread for downloading.
Mike, I posted that "24 Karat" in the "Demos/Live/Requests" thread back in April. A couple, actually. I have 7 completely different versions all of excellent quality, all from the Masters.

Actually Mike, I think your confusing John Shanks and David Kahne. "Call On Me For Magic" is an outtake recorded during the TISL sessions, composed and produced by David Kahne, who also produced and arranged "Love Changes" with Stevie. Rumor has it that it was never intended for inclusion on TISL, but recorded for a possible animated movie or soundtrack that David had been kicking around at the time, and he wanted Stevie to sing it. Unfortunately the song never materialized until fans found it buried on David's website @ Feb. 2009 when it 1st surfaced to most Stevie fans.
It's really a beautiful vocal and different direction for Stevie - the only song that even comes close to the style and production in Stevie's repertoire is "Beauty & The Beast", but less dark. This song kinda of reminds me of a Mary Poppins or Disney tune>>> Check it out at this youtube link;

I haven't been able to live without this song ever since I heard it. Stevie knocks the vocal out of the park. It's superb! And It should be included in any Anthology of Stevie, just to show her range of versatility, along with the Stormy Weather live version of "At Last".

I have 7 completely different versions all of excellent quality, all from the Masters.
oh cool...thanks for the heads up...maybe i missed it or maybe i saw it and thought maybe it was one i already had. i don't like the song much but only because of the demos i already have of it. i might even have d/l'd it and forgot to add it to itunes ...i recently found a bunch of masters i had but never added them.

Call On Me For Magic has never really done anything for me. possibly because Stevie didnt write it (but i like other songs she has recorded but didnt write) or maybe its just so far from her usual style?
What is it that fans see it this?
Help me fall in love with it...its probably the only Stevie song i will hit the skip button on.
I mean ...if i can find joy in Stevie covering "I Still Miss Someone" or even "Jane"(which i know both get a lot of hate) maybe im missing something?

Btw Mike, I love this Anthology you put together as well. My 1st though when I saw it the other day was "WOW"! I was a little overwhelmed by it all, but it really almost has everything you'd ever want in a complete representation of Stevie's work. I know we all have our favorites, but you seem to crystallize the ones us diehards love the most. But It's gotta contain She Loves Him Still & That's Alright in there somwhere;)

6. Storms - Unreleased alternate extended mix from Tusk
Where does this come from? I'm wondering if I have it but just not listed under this title. Was this the one from The Chain or the demo that's just her and the organ and drums? Or something new I may not have? I'm terribly intrigued.
This is an amazing collection.

All the versions of "24 Karat" on the Masters are just amazing. My favourite, the one I put on the anthology, is where Stevie is speaking at the beginning, her voice all dripping with cynicism:
"Ladies and gentlemen,
From the studio on the water...
Palm trees in Santa Monica...
Condominiums for a mere $800,000...
Any one of you could afford them..."

Christopher, be happy that "That's Alright" did squeeze on there this morning as I actually worked on the lengths and all that this morning. It's a lot of work! Darn that Stevie and her amazing music! "I would suffer for the love..." Me forgetting "That's Alright" was an oversight and it was always meant to be on there. I was thinking about an outtake, but I went with the 1982 album version simply because of Stevie's beautiful voice!
"She Still Loves Him" ~ Of course, the song is the most heartbreaking, REAL song Stevie's ever written AND sang. I love JeffD's enhancing of the version I found several months ago. I just listened to it again this morning, and I think it can work. I just didn't want to go to far over the edge with sound quality, or else I'd be putting on the Rock A Little version of "Thousand Days" instead of the Street Angel one. I've made plenty of comps with lesser quality, and my goal for this one was the best sound quality. Thank Rhiannon for the Masters!
I think my fave, "Greta" will be falling off >sigh< :( I mean, I just love it, but "Kick It" was actually written in the Street Angel era, so it's more representative of that time. Plus, I think "Kick It" is remembered well and loved by many fans, too.
I dunno. I'll be playing with it all weekend and have a final track listing that will fit on 6 CDs if anyone would like to make their own.

Stevie's live duet of "Needles and Pins" with Tom Petty and Heartbreakers is a stand-out performance that is often overlooked. It was released as a single, and should have been on the Enchanted box set.

I'll upload this tonight if no one beats me to it - I can include the whole disc it came from as a zipped file as well. I have a Christmas party to go to after work, but I might be able to squeeze it in between getting home and leaving again. It's not one of the numbered BT masters, but something that started circulating just before those. Based on the ordering of the tracks, I think it was a merger of a couple different reels, maybe from the work Maureen did (Mikebise could confirm that maybe?).
Here is the track listing; also for those who want to know ahead of time - I did not get a lossless copy when I traded for this back in 2003ish. Sorry!
24 Karat Gold 1/80 with Still Of The Night 4/4/80 Bella Donna Master Reel
1....Outside The Rain - 4/4/80 (7:19) Extended Outtake
2....24 Karat Gold - 1/80, vocal track 23 - (8:14) "I myself, see myself differently…than the one that only you see…"
3....24 Karat Gold - 1/80, same as above, no intro, w/vocal overlays (6:36)
4....24 Karat Gold - Session #3, vocal overlays (5:32)
5....24 Karat Gold - Session #4, false start w/intro (0:27)
6....The Dealer - rough studio clip w/dialogue (1:42) Stevie speaks regarding the song being given away
7....How Still My Love - 4/4/80 #1, partial (0:22) piano demo
8....How Still My Love - 4/4/80 #2, (7:02) piano demo. With backup "oohs"

10....How Still My Love - 4/4/80 #4, (7:08) piano demo. Similar to #3, but with less vocal overlays.
11....24 Karat Gold - no date, mono backup vocal track (3:37)

Yeah, the $800,000 Condominiums version of "24 Karat" is the 8:14 version, edited to 7:04. There's a false start and junk at the end. (None of the song is missing in my edit, just wasted space, which is not necessary for an anthology.) The lady who had our Masters baked and transfered always marked if something was from Maureen's stuff, and this Reel isn't labeled as such. I guess, like you said, it was one of those early floaters,( like "Gold And Braid", "Julia", "The Dealer", "Castaway" and "Rhiannon", although we had several Master Reels with those on them as well.) But the sound on this is mind-numbingly fantastic!
One of the Masters we actually did do has "24 Karat", starts with the "Monitor mix"-labeled piano-only demo which is just amazing (6:14). Stevie's voice is very chilling on it! "The wind hung on! Yeah!" Then several false starts. Then one with many, many Stevie overdubs (6:33) and then another with different overdubs and guitar! (7:41). "If you choose to remember the Queen of Chance!!! It's just ME!!! And the moon hung on..."
Then 4 versions of "Kind Of Woman", including an unedited full-ending album version, no fade. All amazing! (From March 20, 1981).
Then more Heartbreakers studio work on "Gypsy", all labeled "April 3, 1980". There are 2 very good versions in all that studio stuff, lengths of 5:16 and 5:54.
Mike, the 1997 live version of "Gold Dust Woman" from The Dance is commercially available on iTunes and Amazon, so I don't wanna break any forum rules and get banned. :)

Street Blue Angel is another bootleg Stevie CD of the Westwood One 1994 broadcast of the final House of Blues concert in September, 1994 (Dallas was the last actual city on the tour, followed by the HOB concert in Hollywood).
I think Street Blue Angel has superiour sound to Welcome To My World. Plus, "Outside The Rain" and "Dreams" are linked together, thus no fading. Welcome To My World sounds dimmer, to my ears.
I'll try and post the concert when I'm hooked up to a DSL again (like yesterday).

Both Street Blue Angel and Welcome To My World are 1995 bootleg CDs that took their material from the 1994 Westwood One CD-broadcast of the house Of Blues concert. No "Blue Denim" on the CD.
Welcome To My World chose to fade out on "Outside The Rain" and fade back in on "Dreams", tracking them separately. Street Blue Angel had them on the same track, no fading.
The sound is better on these two because they come directly from the WW1 CDs. The House of Blues concert was broadcast LIVE in September 1994, and that's where the original HOB bootlegs came from, including "Blue Denim", but the sound just wasn't as crisp. When WW1 aired the edited concert later, it was on CDs and sounded perfect.

Weird, huh???? As Sting said: "Synchronicity TWO!!!!!"
"Bombay Sapphires" is such a great song....
Listening to "Jane" now... I really love it. "In fact, they might have put us BOTH into prison!"

I have a copy of the original Westwood One CD which still has the commercials as well as JJ Jackson's commentary. I edited all that crap out for my iTunes so if anyone is interested I will post the tracks as the sound quality is best from this CD.
It should be mentioned that the original live broadcast in Sept '94 has VERY different vocals on most songs than what's on the "doctored" WW1 broadcast. Listen to how different Gold Dust Woman is from the WW1 version. I always thought Stevie sounded like she was doing aerobics on this version. PICK IT UP...AND HIT IT! AND PICK IT UP...AND HIT IT!!! (she repeats that a lot here)

Ooh, downloading now!! Thank you, can't wait. I love Jim Ladd. I'm not crazy about the GDW arrangements in the 90's, except on the BTM tour, but I've never heard the undoctored bronchitis version of anything from this show before. So thanks again!

I finally finished. When fitting everything onto 80-minutes CDs, of course, things had to get cut for space on the CDs. So, I made a 7th CD! I tried my best to list where all of the official releases came from. Most, if not all, of the unreleased songs have been posted on various threads on here.
I did use Audacity to trim some dead air here and there (like those 2 empty seconds at the beginning of "Street Angel"; intro & outro of "Fireflies") so that the songs would flow perfectly. But, if anyone wanted to make their own copies of Dreams & Chains, it should all fit.
This was meant to highlight Stevie's entire career (so far!), spotlighting the singular genious that is Stevie Nicks! Happy Holidays!

Thanks again for the kind words.
Am I missing anything? Anything significant in Stevie's career?
The NON-Master Reels demos & outtakes, I think, just do not sound crisp enough on an anthology (unless that's all that's on it). So, unfortunately, "She Still Loves Him", "At The Fair", "One More Tomorrow", "Beautiful Ghost" and the rest just do not fit in this collection. If even clearer copies showed up, yes, of course.
The older "Cathouse Blues"-era demos sound good enough, so some are on Dreams & Chains, even if not true Masters.
I'm thinking Live Songs may need some rethinking. If the 1983 Us Fest "Outside The Rain" ALSO had "Dreams" attached, I would definitely have used that. I'm about to replace the 2005 "Stand Back" with the December 1983 Saturday Night Live performance. My audio for the SNL "Stand Back" comes from the official DVD, so the sound is perfect.
Part of my inspiration for Dreams & Chains was Barbra Streisand's mind-boggling 1991 collection, Just For The Record. On it, Barbra used live songs, TV performances, unreleased albums, single mixes, outtakes, obscure duets, and MORE to make an awesome career-spanning epic. I've always wished Enchanted had been a bit more like Barbra's box set.
Some songs/performances I still think I'm missing are:
"Jane"
"I Pretend" - Talk about obscure!
"Sara" - complete, unedited 1979 soundboard from St. Louis (the video version uncut!)
"Are You Mine?" - Duet with Billy Burnette; outtake from Rock A Little
"Castaway" - There's a great 4-minute version on the Masters Reels
"Annabel Lee" - The TISL demo; a taste of Stevie's new album?
"Baby Doll" - It's too perfect!!!
"Doing The Best I Can" - 1989 BBC-TV
"You Won't Forget Me" - Live 1975; I think the sound is excellent
"Somebody Stand By Me" - This was our FIRST hearing post-Street Angel Stevie; pretty important?
"Let Me Count The Ways" - 1996; Not important, but obscure and easily sequenced in anywhere
"Gate And Garden" - This and "I Will Run To You" are all that's left from the official The Wild Heart
"Have No Heart" - TISL demo
"Too Far From Texas" - Stevie did it in concert; country stations here in Dallas played the Hell out of it!
"The Highwayman" - outtake version from Bella Donna
"Illume" - Stevie loves this one!
"Needles & Pins" - Live 1982 AND a single!
"Love Is Dangerous" - A rock radio hit and single!
"Races Are Run"
"The Second Time"
"Smiling Islands" - 1982 duet
"Circle Dance"
"Space Needle" - It's pretty long, though
"Straight Back"
"That Made Me Stronger"
"Sweet Girl" - Live 1997
"Unconditional Love" - Almost a single!
"Without You"
Not that THESE songs are the most significant, but, by going to 8 CDs, some of these might be good choices to fill up the CDs, as classics are shuffled around a bit.
Just typing this has me started adding another CD. However, I will be reshuffling a few songs from each of the other CDs, taking them for the 8th one, so that the hits are dispersed accordingly.

Thanks again for the kind words.
"Too Far From Texas" - Stevie did it in concert; country stations here in Dallas played the Hell out of it!
"Straight Back"
"That Made Me Stronger"
You're very welcome for the words - the work you've been putting in is excellent!
I'm VERY excited by Too Far From Texas! I've never heard a live version before that is of anywhere near decent quality! If you don't decide to go with it could you send me a link to it if it's available online?
I think Straight Back would be a GREAT random choice! I'd also pick That's Alright - since those 2 songs get overshadowed by Gypsy from that period (as awesome and important a song as that is of course).
That Made Me Stronger just doesn't do it for me - worst track from that album. Perhaps Fall From Grace from TISL instead, if it isn't included already? It's Stevie's return to a kick-ass rock sound after all. Really sorry if that sounds like I'm interfering!

This thread reminds me of how extremely personal assembling compilations can be, at least those that stray from a basic hits/signature songs formula. It's wonderful to see you enjoying yourself and being creative (and to see others enjoying this as well) but I personally am not feeling the sequencing at all. I promise I'm not trying to be an ass and chose to state my opinion when you began encouraging feedback. This is, of course, only my opinion with which absolutely no one has to agree. I AM NOT TRYING TO BE NEGATIVE, JUST HONEST.
To begin with, this is too many discs and the sequencing is waaaay too random to make for an enjoyable listen. We're talking a span of nearly 40 years! Stevie's recordings work best in chronological or near-chronological order (this has always been one of my complaints about each of her official compilation releases, especially Enchanted.) I'm also extremely bothered by the omission of the original studio masters for "Rhiannon," "Landslide," "Gold Dust Woman" and "Silver Springs". Four of her most defining studio recordings shafted on a 7, possibly 8 CD set?!
By my count you've included only 13 songs that are not included on her official releases. What I would love to listen to is a pared down 2 disc set: one disc containing these unreleased songs/out takes and a second of the key alternate recordings/versions offering a new perspective of her released songs. This would nicely complement a chronological 3-4 disc set of hits, album cuts and other released studio masters.
Something that I really appreciate is your exceptional taste when it comes to using Chris Lord-Alge's remixes from Timespace and singles. I've long championed these as the definitive mixes and wish he would have done her entire back catalog! ;) I understand opting for the slightly longer unedited LP mix of "Leather And Lace" found on Enchanted and Crystal Visions (though I still prefer the 1991 mix), but I am curious as to why you use the LP version of "If Anyone Falls" instead of the Timespace remix.
As for the title...it's a bit predictable and (I'm sorry!!) corny. That said it's not as though I can come up with a better one off of the top of my head for the sake of this post.
I think, working with what you've already assembled, it would benefit the listenability to sequence the studio recordings in loose chronological order and consider adding/swapping the aforementioned studio takes not already included. Then place the other odds and ends (demos, live versions etc.) on their own discs.

I have a copy of the original Westwood One CD which still has the commercials as well as JJ Jackson's commentary. I edited all that crap out for my iTunes so if anyone is interested I will post the tracks as the sound quality is best from this CD.

Just a quick question, Mike. Why did you chose to start with IYEDB, given the fact that it's not one of Stevie's best known songs? Don't misunderstand me, I love the song and I've always thought she should have included it on Trouble. Just curious.

Well, like you, I think it's a fantastic, overlooked song. I think it's a great intro to Stevie's works. Written in 1978, that version recorded in 1998... such coolness in the timing of the song. Not a real "hit", but probably a song most Stevie fans are familiar with. And it should have gotten more exposure.

Agreed. It's a top 10 for me and I LOVE the early version...
Now that to me is a REAL love song.

I agree completely! As I've said, it should've been part of Trouble. And maybe even Crystal Visions, to give more emphasis to the later recordings.

Ooh, downloading now!! Thank you, can't wait. I love Jim Ladd. I'm not crazy about the GDW arrangements in the 90's, except on the BTM tour, but I've never heard the undoctored bronchitis version of anything from this show before. So thanks again!

I love what you did with the cd list. The length of it doesn't bother me at all. 8 cds sounds awesome. I also wish we could've gotten much much more on Stevie's Enchanted Box set. We all know it could've been longer and much more extensive. (and the cover to me should've really been a beautiful photo of Stevie not the feather. The feather is cute but well with all the outtake photos its just a shame that one of those weren't used for the cover of it.) I love the Blue Lamp photos though just wish there had been more. It could've at least been 4 cds and one dvd. But it is what it is.
Thanks though for all your hard work , Mike. I love it for sure and would love a copy also. Just let me know any costs as well. We could go for 9 cds and include some more rare 'live' songs throughout her solo career. I'd love to vote for StandBack & Nightbird from Solid Gold (2) live songs with Tom Petty during WH tour at Radio City Music Hall: IWRTY (even though its not my favorite song/just because its rare live to hear it) and Stop Draggin. RAL : Talk To Me and I Can't Wait versions/Mirror: Juliet...only done a few times good copies??/Alice/ROF. So makes me wish she'd sang Long Way To Go live...that would've been so awesome!!! SA: Docklands/Destiny/Blue Denim or Maybe Love. Enchanted: Sleeping Angel/Rose Garden/Whole Lotta Trouble or Gold & Braid.(I wished she'd sang Blue Lamp bummer). TISL : Fall from Grace/Bombay Sapphire/Sorcerer. Anyway, Just some ideas. I don't think there are too many great live versions from the short BD tour except from the HBO special which is a shame since I love how she sang during that tour & she practically sang almost all of BD with BL and G&B. Thanks again for all of your hard work on this project, Mike!!!:D

I really love the unedited HOB show. I have never heard that before. Ive had the Welcome to my World cd for years and recently got a hold of the street blue angel one as well. I cant believe the difference between the original show and the later cd versions. I really dont think she sounded bad at all on the original. So Im curious though, how did the broadcast cd versions end up with basically completely different vocals. Did she redo the show on another day or go in to the studio to cut the live vocals or what? does anyone know the full story here? I would love to find out what the deal is.

I believe Stevie will put out another anthology CD before she goes out (kind of an Enchanted pt. 2) and I really think she should appoint Mike Bise as the fan musical director to help her pick the songs. I know I'm dreaming here but wouldn't it be interesting if the song selection was mixed in with a die-hard fan's point of view? It would make it so much more special rather than it being just Stevie and the label picking songs. I also love love love the title "Dreams & Chains".

Yes, I'm also confused now. I haven't had a chance to listen to the songs yet (thanks badanimals87 for uploading them!!), but are we talking about two different versions of the same concert? Kind of like Red Rocks, with overdubs etc?
