Is it just me or at the end of the second verse does Stevie sing "Well I'm I'm not that sorry but..."
For a little bit it sounded like she said "Well I'm I'm blah blah sorry but..." also, which made me chuckle. :blob2::blob1::blob2::blob1::blob2:

I like these threads too. I like reading all these crazy ideas. whenever I listen to Seven Wonders I always think that line is strange too. I don't know what it is but I always say "Wait, what Stevie? What the hell did you just sing? To me it sounds like "well blah blah I'm not that sorry but.."

Funny - I always heard it the way it's been transcribed:
"Well, you know I'm sorry but"...
I think she says, "Well, no I'm not sorry but". She holds "Well" out and then jams the rest of it all up together, so I think we're thinking we hear more words than we actually do. She was really good at that for a long time!
Also, she slurs her words sometimes and in that line, I hear "not" being said as "nart". She does sort of the same thing in "Gypsy" when she says "Well you know that it does", she actually says, "Wrell"... that's one of my favorite quirks about that song.

The transcribed lyrics have many mistakes. I think this is what makes it so fun to figure this out.
I have always heard "Well you know I'm sorry brut..."
Sort of like that "wrell."

I hear, "Weeeeeeellllll you know I'm sorry, but if I live to see the Seven Wonders..." but I know on stage she sang "Well I guess I'm sorry, but..."

I thought it was, "Well, I guess I'm sorry, but..."
BTW, Sandy Stewart's original copyrighted title of "Seven Wonders" is "Aaron". Learning this, now when I hear Stevie singing, I hear "Aaron" instead of "Tara".
Why would Stevie even be singing about Tara in "Seven Wonders"? Oh well, just a funny thing I mistakenly hear in the song now.

Where is the Aaron/Tara part? I hear Tara in "Welcome to the Room," but not in Seven Wonders.
By way of explanation, I don't think Stevie would ever miss a chance to imagine herself as a heroine of an epic movie or novel (see: Beauty and the Beast, Alice, etc.) Who cares if it doesn't fit in? :-D
ETA Never mind, I know what part you're referring to. I haven't listened to that song much.

-------------
Didn't Lori Perry say in a Nicksfix Q and A that Stevie was singing 'Sara' (as opposed to 'Tara')?
I don't why she would be saying 'Sara' either in 'Seven Wonders'. Maybe LB sampled her singing the word from 'Welcome to the Room... Sara' and inserted it into 'Seven Wonders' to beef up the instrumental section.

Well, I guess it's true when she says 'Understanding me is not an easy thing to do' (Blue Denim)

Yeah, but she said it in a not so sure kind of way... "And I do believe that what Stevie is singing during the breaks in “Seven Wonders” is..... “Sara.”"
I hear "Sara", and I also hear "Well, I'm awfully sorry but..."
As far as the Sara/Tara/Aaron thing goes, Sara is an obvious link to the song 'Sara' and also to 'Welcome To The Room...Sara', but Tara is also a link to 'Welcome To The Room...' ("it's not Tara, in fact do I know you?).
It could by anything.
It could even be 'Sharon'.
Hahaha IDK why but this instantly made me think of Ozzy Osbourne and Stevie somehow calling Sharon Celani like he calls his wife. SHAAAROONNN!!

You know how when you see a movie and your brain pieces together the things you don't see to make the full picture? It's the same way in old 70's horror movies when you'd see the guy's head get chopped off your logical mind could tell it was a dummy head but being all caught up in the moment your mind makes you cringe because you can see it as a person's head? That's how the bridge to Seven Wonders was to me. My mind always pieced together that she was saying the word "rainbow" because she had just said "the rainbow's end", like she was going "the rainbow's end... rainbow... rainbow...." when logically it really sounds like she's just going "eeeyaabloooow".
Ironically, I was just going to post a comment about having no idea whatsoever about where you people heard the names Sara or Tera but then go on to ask if I was the only one hearing "eeeyaabloooow" at the bridge. But now it all makes sense to me.

It is indeed Sara.. Lori said. I like toast too. With peanut butter and sometimes bananas, nothing else.

Well that clears that up. Heh heh. I think it adds a layer of sweetness to the whole song. As if Sara was asleep under the clouds dreaming of the things she might someday see and the love that has eluded her all those years.
I just watched the video again and my favorite moment in the whole thing is at about 1:27 where Stevie looks like she's trying not to laugh as something is approaching. Then we see Lindsey goofing off and she watches him go by with almost a girlish whimsy, yet never stopping her singing. These are the moments that make my heart beam for her.

She is saying "Sara?" I thought it was "Tara," in reference to Gone With the Wind as she does in "Welcome to the Room Sara" where she mentions "Tara" and "for Scarlett."

I don't why she would be saying 'Sara' either in 'Seven Wonders'.
Well, I don't know if that is what she is saying, but, if it is, it would not seem incongruent to me. I would understand her saying it. I think she thinks of Sara as an ongoing thing, part of a saga. One recurring person who travels through many lyrics. She has said that the WTTR person is the same as the sea of love person, so . . . why shouldn't Sara wander to the seven wonders as well.
