Hi guys, I don't know if this has been posted here yet but I just noticed this on YouTube. It's the clearest version of the Wild Heart Dressing Room performance I've ever seen and the audio is crystal clear. Plus, it goes on longer than any of the other videos I've seen.

This version of her singing Wild Heart is one of the best videos on youtube in my opinion. Those harmonies and everything. Just stunning.
Here's the other one on youtube, it's shorter but pretty good quality:

from the first video, i've always wondered what she's saying at the beginning of the mash up. it sorta resembles the original "since you've been around we've got a love in store" but it sounds off. or maybe she just forgot the words and kinda went with the syllables. 'cause you know, the words aren't important, just syllables. dun dun..

yeah this was from the Rolling Stone photo shoot, late 1981. so she was 33...and listening to Fleetwood Mac demos that were for the upcoming Mirage album...she was singing The Wild Heart lyrics along to an early instrumental version of 'Can't Go Back'

That video of her singing The wild heart before the Rolling Stone shoot is pure magic. Mostly because she is singing because of the simple fact that she loves singing. You can tell it comes straight from the heart and she's not like these other entertainers of today. You can tell she's just itching to sing, and Robin eventually just gives up and lets her go for it. I could watch this 20 times in a row, it's beautiful.

Often times, when I am down or feeling blah, I will watch this to lift my spirits. This has always made me happy.
To see into the intimate backstage setting, and watch how passionate she is about the song, is truly beautiful.

Speaking of the RS photo shoot... This:

I love how she is bopping around and singing along to her recording of "If You Were My Love." However, this version of the song is totally different than the popular version that appears on The Other Mirage. Has this version leaked? My kingdom for this mp3!!

It's not from the RS shoot (I know it's often labelled like that but it's not, the video Hejira posted is from RS) and neither is it from '81, it's a little bit later, probably on the set for some Mirage promo photoshoot

Well, it really has to be from the '81 period because both "Love in Store" and "Can't Go Back" are kind of like thumbnail sketches at this point. And Robin appears to be healthy and non-pregnant here; I don't think she got pregnant, sick, frail and died within just a few months' period. I think autumn '81 sounds about right to me.

This is the only non-Mirage / non-Street-Angel era version I have of this song. I'm not too sure if it's the exact one in the video, but, the quality is pretty good anyway -

I love that version of If You Were My Love.....but the version of the early WH is still from this same RS photo shoot. I have this whole 2 hr vhs & DVD of the RS photo shoot and she does her hair after she sings the WH short version.....so I'm 99.9 % positive this is from the RS photo shoot I think it was July of 81....so I still believe it is from than......sad I missed the IYWML version....thats awesome....I'll never understand why that wasn't on Mirage....what a mistake...its awesome and beautiful....just like I wishe some of these outtake photos from the RS81 session would be released....I love those ones in the different outfit....awesome......to have a poster of that would've been so cool!!.....IMO anyway....

I'm confused. The video that I have of this photo shoot, starts off with the Wild Heart impromptu vocal, as makeup is being applied. Before or after this preperation is going on, Annie Leibovitz comes over to BS with Stevie a few times. She actually sits on the window sill that you can see in the full video. Annie is wearing white shorts, and a red shirt. Her brother Christopher also comes over to her, holding Max. Fast forward to the " Rolling Stone Photo Shoot ", and Annie is still in the same outfit taking loads of pictures, and Chris still has Max. So I always thought it was the same day.

This video is what made me fall in love with Stevie. Not just a little.... like falling falling falling in love. In this video she is around my age, wearing a dress I love, has those little ribbons tied in her hair like a school girl, and she's just her! The way she rocks back and fourth and moves her arms and hands. Oh me oh me, she is so freaking cute!
The lyrics hit my heart....cause for once I could make sense of love and loss and bad decisions in the name of love and lust because as Stevie would say "blame it on my wild heart." See yall, it ain't my fault, it's because I have a wild heart!
Thank you for posting the link, I always love to watch that video but I expecially love when someone discovers it who has never watched it before!

I know some of you are good at improving sound quality. Can anyone do that for this song (Wild Heart)? I love, love, love it.

I like the spoof but I think he missed the boat with the harmonies. He sings the exact same thing over and over where Stevie changes it up throughout the song.
Who's singing with Stevie in this? Did anyone else ever notice that she actually starts singing first? Listen carefully, she sort of eggs Stevie on to start singing with her.
The first time I saw this was on a bootleg VHS tape I had ages ago. It was a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy or something so it was really washed out. Stevie actually looked a bit like Steve Martin's ex-wife Victoria Tennant. I didn't know what it was and since there was Mirage music going on, in my wild imagination, I came up with this idea that she was backstage before a Mirage rehearsal getting made up and just as she starts singing Love In Store Lindsey starts playing his guitar just to piss her off. It sounded like she says "this is what I'm talking about, this **** drives me crazy". So to get back at him she starts singing her lyrics over his song. Now that I know the true story it's a lot sweeter.
I find it interesting that she came up with lyric for Wild Heart over Can't Go Back the same way she came up with Enchanted during a jam for Eyes of the World. Makes you wonder how many other Stevie solo songs came out of Lindsey instrumentals.

Oh that's funny- the facial expressions are awesome. This was obviously done with love for Stevie- no one but a die-hard would even know about this video. lol
