I suppose "Did You Ever Love Me" would count as a collaboration...

I like them all, really. There's a real mystical quality to these songs. Night Watch is my favorite but all of them work. Bright Fire is terribly underrated and Revelation burns.
I'll yap about DYELM when Chris's songs come up.

I like 'Revelation' the best. 'Bright Fire' has its good points, but it's so repetitive at the end that it starts getting on my nerves. 'Did You Ever Love Me' is wonderful! Still, I mostly consider it a song by Christine because of the lead vocal.

Yep, "Did You Ever Love Me?" was a Welch-McVie co-write, but I've always considered it a Christine song (and would have no qualms should it be included in the discussion of Christine's songs from Penguin; {hint, hint})...due to its lyrical content; the words & topic are typically Christine McVie.
My fave of Welch's tunes here is "Revelation"...awesome lead guitar work by Bob Weston, and was very surprised to eventually learn that it was Bob Welch on bass on this track and not John McVie. Once I was aware of that fact, yeah, it DOESN'T sound like John at all, a whole lot "busier", but it's still a great bass line.
I didn't really care for "Night Watch" at first, but once I saw them perform it live (with Mick's African Talking drum solo in mid song, like he would eventually do a couple of years later on "World Turning"), I listened to the album track with "new ears", now it's a close second. I actually could hear Mick's African Talking drum on the track itself, which was a kind of "AHA" moment, since I was pretty blown away by the solo live. And, also, once I learned that the lead guitar near the end was Peter Green, that just gave it an extra boost of "etherialism" (and a few extra points in my book) ;)
I like "Bright Fire" (always kind of considered it "part 2" of Bare Trees' "The Ghost").

I like "Bright Fire", and DYELM is okay, but that's about it. I just can't get into the other two, no matter how I try. Didn't know that Bob played bass on "Revelation" though - *goes off to listen again*

Not a heck of a lot of discussion about these songs. Honestly, I love them and don't get the mediocre response people give to them.
And I can't wait to talk Christine's Penguin songs.
