If, as I dream, both Lindsey and Stevie's albums were to be released on the same day, which one would you listen to FIRST!?!?!? :]

Lindsey. It would take a while to get around to stevie.

Wow. Suddenly Mama's getting her bum handed to her on a silver platter. And people say that he's a failure compared to her  Although Stevie was my "gateway drug" to Fleetwood Mac, I ultimately prefer Lindsey's work to Stevie's. Maybe because I've always preferred Folk/Real music over the big production and showyness Stevie's music tends to be. That being said, I'll never stop loving her music. I'll just always go for the acoustic/accapella version over the studio.

Retrospective: May have spoken too soon lol.

Lindsey. I guess if Stevie's album came out notably before his I would listen to that first, but I would prefer to listen to Lindsey's. Stevie solo stuff has never blown me away, to be honest. It's quite hit or miss for me. Much prefer her early Fleetwood Mac stuff.

Lindsey's albums are almost always incredible.

I'd have to say Stevie's for the sole reason that we've gotten 2 albums from Lindsey since her last release, and I'm anxious to hear what Stevie has to say, and how she's evolved.

If this were a question of if I had to chose between seeing Stevie's tour, or seeing Lindsey's... hands down, Buckingham would win.

I'd say Lindseys the winner becoz when you buy a Lindsey album you know what your getting. Stevie depends so greatly on her collaborators.

However

While stevies solo stuff has ben less than impressive, I dont think anything Lindsey has ever done has come close to how amazing Belladonna was. Its like they were squeezing the last of the greatness from the 70s.

Lindsey is amazing as a solo artist... However, I think doing big albums isnt in him anymore, his production on SYW is so dated.

What a thoughtful answer. That's a good point. I guess I'm just afeared of Stevie's more than Lindsey's. Either way, I'll still be imagining: "What if..."

I would listen to Stevie's first. I am interested to see if her sound has changed at all. I like some recent songs of hers that really interested me...

Sweet Girl. I love the melody.. I know this is old now.. but still new compared to 80's material...

Illume ... Great atmosphere and feel.. I hope she goes this sort of direction... Hoping the feel wasn't all LB.

Thrown Down.. Love the direction of this tune..

Everybody finds Out... With the exception of the clothespin on her nose voice... this is a great tune... nice harmonies w/ LB..

Direction I don't want... Silver Girl, Destiny Rules, Goodbye Baby, Say You Will...

I'm going to respectively disagree. :) Bella Donna bores me. Her other album, Wild Heart is superior. And yet...nothing she's done solo is quite on par with Out of the Cradle.

But that's the beauty of opinions...

I have to disagree regarding Wild Heart. I think it's just a terribly sappy monument to Stevie's bloated ego.

But I definitely agree Stevie's also never come anywhere near Out Of The Cradle. Hell, Fleetwood Mac itself might not have.

Hands down, Stevie Nicks. She hasn't put out an album since 1994! I liked Lindsey's first 2 solo albums, the rest are fair to midland. Two songs, Murrow & Down On Rodeo I really loved though.

While I think the Wild Heart is a solid effort, I agree it is no Bella Donna. And it is also the beginning of Stevie resting on her laurels and getting somewhat lazy in her songwriting. This is when Stevie began writing songs to music tracks provided by outside musicians. In Wild Hearts case Sandy Stewart's tracks were heavily relied upon, Which sucked cause Stevie had plenty of great tracks in the vault, Sorcerer, The Beautiful Worlds, Violet and Blue, and others would have put Wild Heart in Bella Donna's league easily.

And that is why I am excited about Stevie's new record and would most definitely play it first due to Stevie actually writing songs real time with a collaborator in the same room organically speaking. It's a refreshing change of direction for her, one in which we have all dreamed she would do with Lindsey, and Dave and her sound so thrilled with the results. I think we could be in store for her most musically ambitious outing ever and easily best since Bella Donna.

Depends if California's Prop 19 passes. If so, I'll probably listen to Lindsey's first. Plus, the chances of me buying Lindsey's album before I buy Stevie's is pretty large. I'm still a couple of Stevie albums behind in my "completist" goal. (But, then, the ones I'm behind on are compilations not albums of all new material)

Um, Louie...I agree with you on principle, but, to me Stevie's TISL was as close to a "perfect" Stevie Nicks album as she's ever released...as was Lindsey's Out Of The Cradle. But, no way OotC outdoes Then Play On or Mystery To Me...or hell, even, *gag*, *choke* Ru.... *hack*...Rum... *wheeze*...Rumours.

No one will EVER...get that? EVER convince me that Wild Heart is superior to Bella Donna...or Rock A Little...damn...even Street Angel. The only album WH is superior to is The Other Side Of The Mirror, which is the ultimate abomination of Stevie's catalogue.

Agree 100%. And this horse has been bludgeoned to near horseburger, but Bella Donna trumps every other album she's put out.
Bella Donna - 10
Wild Heart - 7
Rock A Little - 5
Other Side of the Mirror - 1
And I gave up on her, after that dramatic decline in quality.

Her ballads on Rock A Little made me wanna shove a drill in my ear, I only listened to like 3 songs on OSOTM beofre I shut it off, and I didn't even go near Street Angel yet. So yeah, I really dunno her solo work that well.

To be honest, I just don't very much find Bella Donna to be this masterpiece many on this board claim it is. I have given it more than enough time to grow on me and I still fall asleep to it (I hate that song After the Glitter Fades). Maybe I'll come around one day. :) Wild Heart is simply better to me. Let's see...

With Lindsey, what do we have to look forward to? More singing through a squawk box? More singing through echo chambers? More singing through vari-speed oscillators? I think it's one thing if he just made straightforward rock records. But the more he tries to pull out his bag of tricks, the more his limitations as a producer begin to show. He is very insular and is loathe to collaborate with others. So why should we believe that over the past two years he has suddenly found new inspiration and ideas? Another album full of whispery caterwauling like "Shut Us Down" seems to be most likely.

With Stevie we have the great unknown as well as the first new Stevie songs in 8 years. Stevie has never worked with Dave Stewart nor has she ever collaborated so closely with another songwriter. The hype machine has been running since the summer- with Stevie herself proclaiming this to be one of the best things she has ever done. And that's saying a lot! She has teased us with intriguing song titles like "Italian Summer." She promises more than the "four chords" that she knows how to play on the piano. She sounded terrific on her summer tour dates. She is either flirting with disaster or she may have just made an album for the ages. Anyone with even a remote interest in Stevie has got to be eager to see this album drop.

My biggest problem WITH Stevie, has always been her fans. Because they think her sh*t smells like roses. OSOTM, is a piece of trash, IMO(and many other ppl's, too), but her fans(many of them, anyway) just can't admit, that she's put out more than a few lame albums.

On your second point, we agree completely. God, Chris blows them away, now. Her voice just keeps getting better and better, and the other two, going the OBVIOUSLY opposite direction.

I actually don't mind it either. Probably because it's inspired by Tom Petty, who is flawless in my book. I can tolerate this song, and even that duet with the Dixie Chicks. I freakin' love that Dixie Chick singer's voice.

I totally see your point! But I guess it's all in taste, because I don't think any of them are trash as a whole. Sure there are songs on each of her albums that aren't as good, and quite frankly suck, but I still enjoy the albums in their entirety. TISL is the only Stevie album I didn't listen to a million times. If I do listen I'll play the title track, I Miss You and Planets of the Univ. Occasionally Bombay Sapphires. I don't like the song Love Is but I did enjoy hearing her sing it live because it was a song of hers she had never sung in concert before.

All I know is, in about 5 years, I went from being her biggest fan, to "WTF is this sh*t she's putting out?" I gave OSOTM about 20 listens, and decided that she'd completely lost her gift(whatever that was). RAL wasn't much better, and I signed off.....

Chris is simply amazing. It must be a "god given thing"(although I'm an atheist)......HOW can LB and SN lose MOST of their vocal prowess, yet Chris(what, 4 years older?), just gets sweeter and sweeter? It's odd how time takes it's toll on most, yet a select few, remain unscathed. She's the exception to the rule.

Listen to Calumny, or Northern Star! Her range, in both upper and lower registers, is just jaw dropping! She's 10 times better, than in 1970. Quite the anomaly, she is...

Although I voted for Lindsey (and stick to that vote), you put this very well. (But with Dave Stewart as the producer... I'm still scared). But I wanted to piggyback off of you to pose this to the group: WHY does lindsey do that vocal-whisper thing on every song???!!! I dun git it. It's what kept Gift of Screws from being a MASTERPIECE instead of just great.

This.

The vocals on Lindsey's recent solo albums have been unbearable. Such a shame as the actual songs are incredible. A return to an OOTC type album would excite me at this point. I really don't see what Lindsey is aiming for with the recent recorded vocals :(

That said I'll still obviously buy it and see how it goes.

I'm really looking forward to Stevies new album - mainly because it's been such a time since the last. Lets hope its not TISL 2, which by the info we are getting it should not be, there was far too much filler in that album.

I hope Dave can censor Stevie, her phrasing has gotten so bad since OSOTM, i just think people have treated her with kid gloves and are scared to say "lady that sucks, fix it."

Also, the compact disk format is not her friend! TISL was about 3 to 4 songs too long, which really makes a difference.

Very well said!

And of course that was SYW's problem, too. Just because you can PUT 80 minutes on a CD, doesn't mean you should put 80 minutes on a CD. Edit the work, to a cohesive unit. If you want to put the leftovers on a bonus disk, fine. But the album needs to stand well, on it's own.

AMEN!! The whispery, sexy voice was cool for a song or two, but, enough already!!!

I like some of Lindsey's solo work, but, the majority of it is over produced, and very drowsy, to me.

Plus, the sound effects, are just annoying after a while. He is a great singer, why hide his talent under all that crap??

I will buy both albums, for sure, but, I hope Lindsey's is a little less production, and a lot more action!!

I'd definitely listen to Stevie's new album first, but, I'd buy them both for sure. I'm not gonna lie, I just don't have much time for Lindsey's solo stuff. I like the odd song here and there, but to me, listening through any of his solo albums all the way through is like listening to Stevie's TOSOTM - just something that doesn't interest me and leaves me bored. Whilst I can listen to most of Stevie's solo albums all the way through (Apart from TOSOTM, which is a dire turd of epic proportions, apart from the odd song here and there, and Street Angel, which leaves me comatose unless I mix it up a bit).

Although, one of these days, I will make myself sit down and listen to all his solo works properly (I really like it whenever a song from Gift of Screws comes up on shuffle) I just find Stevie's solo works more engaging.

while i won't disagree with you, i don't think it's some heavenly powers-that-be that are keeping her voice in tact. i just think she took better care of it than stevie and lindsey. first, chris sounded like **** (live) back in "the day". second, none of her songs forced her to bring a lot of power like stevie's and even lindsey's. she just kinda ho hummed her way through, and stevie was wailing and lindsey was..idk what he was doing  anyway, i think that's the biggest contributor to why their voices have gone downhill and her's hasn't.

oh, and i'd listen to stevie's first. i really have to ease into lindsey's songs. it took me a good 5 years to love all of lindsey's songs on SYW. now there's not one i will skip, even though i skip a lot of stevie's. but again, it took me 5 years to get there  anyone else feel like that? his songs are usually so out there, it takes you a while to appreciate them.

Yes, I feel the same way. I remember when SYW was newly released and I was telling a friend I was having a hard time liking Red Rover. She suggested I keep listening to it to give it a chance because she felt it was a good song. So it took a few more listens and then I came to appreciate it. I very much enjoyed it live with Stevie singing on it also.

YES!! it was red rover for me too.

i was with bill (buckymcnix) in seattle and he played it. he had hated it too, but his bf made him listen. now lindsey's songs are my favorites on the album. i even like murrow. probably the only stevie song that i absolutely love and never skip is thrown down (from SYW, of course ;) )

Yes, who knows what he does. I don't deny that Lindsey has lost his voice. He has for the most part and whisper croak singing is a result. But I would also say that half the time, Lindsey isn't even really trying to sing. Maybe he isn't trying because he knows he can't hit the notes and he thinks lack of effort will lighten the blow of failure. But he spends so much time yelling and running and not singing that when he does try, I'm sometimes shocked by the results.

I was amazed that his voice sounded so much better on the Unleashed tour than it did on the SYW tour. He pulled out some beautiful harmonies on Storms and I was like, "what? Where? How did that happen?"' He still has more in him than he always puts on the table, vocal wise.

Of course, Christine's voice was beautiful on IMT and where it was audibly deeper and aged, that went with the emotion of the song. It spoke of experience, wisdom, polished oak. You almost hear a crack, but it's born from strength, not weakness or dwindling ability. She sang torn, the petals drop. He picks them out one by love, testing our love, by proving that it's gone and used her voice to reach an ache in a way I thought genius.

I have mixed feelings about Red Rover. I love love love love love love love the verses, but then it just falls off a cliff with the chorus. I've listened to it so many times because I want to like, but I can never appreciate the whole song.

That's the inverse of how I feel about Whenever I Call You Friend. Loathe the verses, but find the chorus embarassingly catchy.

Sweet love . . .

No question, I'd definitely be playing Stevie's album over Lindsey's. His work is patchy at best and always a little too pretentious/princess-flakey for my liking whereas Stevie always delivers (except, of course, for Street Angel, which I have erased from her catalogue).

As for In The Meantime, that does not even rate a mention, let alone a comparison to anything Lindsey, Stevie or in fact Christine have ever done. So awful it hurts.

You just totally read my mind.

I have great expectations from this new Stevie CD. She seems rejuvenated and inspired by Dave Stewart.

Lindsey's music seems very self-indulgent to me and if I have to listen to one more 3 minute guitar solo, I will claw my eyes out. I guess music is like everything else...we all have opinions. None are right or wrong.

I just listened to In the Meantime for the first time in a long while. It's just as I remember. A collection of very very nice songs. Nothing more really. IMO it's nothing to go crazy over. Certainly nothing groundbreaking. It's a good album. However I can't RAVE about it as some people do. It's good. That's as high a praise as I can give. Also nowhere near the level of Out of the Cradle, or Bella Donna. :sorry: Just...good.

OK I'm dome.

Seriously? Can you please explain? I think it's one thing to say that her voice has changed, which it has... a little... But to say that it has deteriorated just defies any kind of credibility whatsoever. I would love to see some examples of how her voice has deteriorated. If anything, I believe it has become warmer, more expressive and more pleasing to the ear.

While I don't think Christine's voice has deteriorated (her voice is as always quite lovely), I recently purchased "In The Meantime" from Amazon after largely ignoring it after not being blown away from hearing "Friend", and I too find it quite bland and mostly unimaginative.

And besides, Christine's work is just as open to scrutiny and judgement on these boards as Stevie and Lindsey's bodies of work and rightly so, "Temporary One" (easily the worst song of the 3 writers new songs for "The Dance" imo) and others makes me want to pull my hair out just as much as some of Lindsey's or Stevie's lesser songs!

In a perfect world I would want Christine to come back into the fold of FM for one more album. They all balance each other out perfectly. That's why most of us love Fleetwood Mac.

Awesome. Someone needed to say it. It's just opinion, people. :xoxo: I've started putting up with your Stevie bashing, so don't say anything about the Christine bashing! I'm sure her stuff is really good though I've just never listened to it.

Exactly.

Lindsey's solo work - as well as his contributions to Mirage, Tango (except for Big Love), and all but two songs on Say You Will - disinterests me. I just don't connect with the material. Over-processed, distorted or barely-there vocals don't appeal to me either.

Stevie working with Dave Stewart has me very interested, but so does her working with Glen Ballard. He knows how to construct commercially viable, radio friendly songs. He knows how to edit and sometimes Stevie needs an editor to burnish those awkward moments or bad production choices that spoil otherwise decent solo songs.

Yes. Stevie has infused much intrigue and anticipation for me with her collaborations with Dave Stewart. As well as looking forward to hearing Mick play drums and hearing violinist Ann Marie Calhoun on the record, I too am very fascinated to see what degree Glen Ballard played a role in the overall production. This will be an interesting record indeed. From Dave's recent tweets, looks like they filmed some performance footage at Stevie's house on October 28th. Could be they filmed the makings of a video, that will also be part of his documentary of Stevie's new album.

As mush as I love OOTC and Under The Skin and parts of SYW, I wish Lindsey would collaborate more with other artists. It would bring a much needed breath of fresh air to his repertoire.

God, Chris blows them away, now. Her voice just keeps getting better and better, and the other two, going the OBVIOUSLY opposite direction.

I agree that her voice is still great and has held up really well, but her songs sound like muzak. I tried listening to "In the Meantime" the other day and realized why it was that it was hard for me to get through the whole album when it was first released (I think I only listened to it once all the way through). I think Chris has a great voice, but she's just never been that interesting to me musically or as a songwriter, frankly :sorry:.

I also find it unfair to say that Stevie's fans are blind followers who will love everything she puts out. Speaking for myself, this is definitely not the case. Have you ever considered that the reason some of her fans like the albums you claim are horrible is because they actually like them? I could make the case that the only reason you like "In the Meantime," a boring, subpar album imo, is because you're a blind, devoted follower of Christine. Sound familiar?

There's no doubt Chris could have benefited from a better producer. No argument here. But there are some true GEMS on ITM. Northern Star and Calumny are two of my all time favorite songs.

I didn't say all Stevie followers, blindly follow her. BUT, IMO, many do! It's pretty much commonly accepted, that TOSOTM is a junk album. So yeah, when someone tells me that they love it, I do question their taste, and judgment, and ability to discern quality, from blind devotion.

Liar isn't altogether unbearable, either. I must confess that the only reason I really bought ITM was because it was Christine, and not because the music really interested me. But I listened to the album and it was worthy enough to make it to my iPod, despite alot of the songs being sub par to me. So there's one example of blind following that ended on somewhat of a muted note for me.

It's beginning to sound more and more that I ought to just avoid TOSOTM the more I read of this thread. I have Bella Donne and Wild Heart on Vinyl and tape, BD, WH, TiS-L, CV and Timespace on CD. But I'm far from a Chiffon-Head, and know exactly what I don't like on the albums. Granted I do feel guilty occasionally for not liking a song that's obviously motivated very heavily by Stevie's deep love for it, but at the end of the day if you don't like something only time and perseverence stand any chance of changing that.

Hmmm I disagree with about 97% of this post. Odd glitch in quality? Have you heard the decline of Stevie's vocal abilities? Honestly Stevie can sometimes sound like a mouse with a clothespin clamped over the nose. Having said that, I think Christine's range actually got higher, and smoother over the years... ITM has some moments where Christine sounds a little strained, but overall much better tone quality than Stevie. Both of them have long since passed their glory days Phil. Let's not kid ourselves here.
This has nothing to do with whom I prefer. Honestly, I'd rather put in Samuel Barber's adagio for strings than listen to either one of them. Or a nice Bach Fugue. :)

i wonder. if there were an experimental thread where people were asked to critique their favorite member of FM, who would have the most bashes? i guarantee you it would be stevie. not only because her fanbase is larger, but because everyone has become accustomed to bashing her at any given possible time. her hair, her clothes, her voice, her setlist, collaborators, songwriting, pictures, food choices, fingernails, ears. whens the last time anyone talked **** about lindsey's ears? when's the last time someone complained about what chris was wearing? stevie fans bash her just as much as they love her, but no one dares ever talk **** about chris or lindsey. there are plenty of stevie songs that i hate, but there are plenty that are labeled "crap" that i love.

And I really can't figure out why! Could it be that some people are jealous of Stevie's success? Do people think it's simply cooler to like Lindsey or Chris more? They are protected by some unseen law where anyone who says anything other than "Chris and Lindsey are the best and Peter Green is God" are looked down on as tasteless and ignorant.

Yeah, exactly. I hate to think that I am tasteless and ignorant because I don't have any pre-Rumours albums or have even listened to much of their Pre-Rumours songs. And I don't think it's because I'm ignorant, it's because when I was 5 The Dance was just coming out. So in my time I have only known the Rumours era of Fleetwood Mac - which Stevie is a part of. And still is. She never quit on them!...well she actually did, but came back. Jeepers.

I think Bad Journey is a killer tune... I agree it could have had better production, but the lyrics and the music are so wonderful to my ears..

Those background vocals sound like they're from the seventies. I cover my ears in shame.

From what I see, plenty of people have nothing but negative, dismissive things to say about both Christine and Lindsey. Not only do they critique Christine's appearance, but they've suggested she looks like a man and her songs are bland. As for Lindsey. He's so jealous of and inferior to Stevie, according to his detractors, that I don't even know how he managed to crawl out of bed all of those decades -- I guess it was only to be mean to her.

Everyone gets their share of criticism, except for John, maybe. I think people just are oblivious to a lot of the equal opportunity jabs, because you only care when your favorite person is attacked. That's where you're sensitive. That's what you remember. When someone else is raked over the coals, since you agree and are largely indifferent to them anyway, you soon forget whatever was said, no matter how antagonistic it was.

But you have to admit that when it comes to Stevie, the jabs are particularly vicious and personal. Nothing "equal opportunity" about that. Not only is Stevie derided, her fans are called "chiffonheads" and considered mindless zombies who pray at the altar of unicorn dust and lace doilies. I don't see fans of Christine and Lindsey attacked in such a personal manner.

I don't think the jabs at Stevie are more personal at all. I think quite personal, insulting things are said about the others as well.

As far as the "chiffonhead," mindless zombie comments, yes I agree that Stevie's fans are called names, while supporters of the others are not assailed like that or, if they are, it's quite infrequent. Michele

And yes, I did read that on here, in the Stevie forum.

I suspect most of what happens is simply the law of proportion at work. Stevie's board has more threads started than any other, and that attracts Ledgies who would rather be talking about LB or CM. And then, once they're on the Stevie board, they see what the people who LIKE STEVIE THE BEST say about her (i.e. nice things) and conclude that that means no one has any critical distance - a conclusion that I'll bet even a cursory statistical analysis would disprove.

The solution is obviously for more threads to be started on the LB and CM forums, so that the Ledgies who LIKE THEM THE BEST have more chances to express their appreciation without getting sucked into rather tedious and false comparisons with SN all the time.

Genuinely, though, it must be pants to be a Chris fan, coz she's packed it all in and there's nothing to look forward to. I'll be gutted if and when Stevie does the same.

Well, Christine's so-called "massive man hands" are what enable her to play the piano with such dexterity vs. Stevie's petite pixie hands, which force her to pound the piano like a toddler. Let's face it- Christine does have massive man hands. But she is having the last laugh... all the way to the bank!

Well, Stevie truly does get the most & worst of the comments. In the past I've seen insulting comments about her personal life, calling her a slut etc. just for one. I'm sorry but as a fan those aren't the kind of comments I'd make about someone I supposedly cared a lot about no matter the circumstances. It's ridiculous, many on here have came back and said 'oh we are just joking, we're allowed to make comments like that etc.' Bull****.

Yeah, she gets as much flack from her some of her 'fans' as she gets from people who aren't fans and those people let the others down. I'll admit I drifted from Stevie as much because of some of her fans as I no longer related to (or enjoyed) her music as much.

I think Stevie's personality, and IMAGE, open herself up to more criticism. She has called herself a ditz before, and I for one, believe her.

But look at her image.....it's like she lives in a fantasy world, and for us "brick and mortar" type of people, that, in and of itself, inspires ridicule.
Lindsey and Chris, are more like regular people, so they're less likely to get nearly as much criticism.

I like it too :o Hated it for years, but I've been rediscovering TISL lately and have really enjoyed this track for the first time!

oh, and i'd listen to stevie's first. i really have to ease into lindsey's songs. it took me a good 5 years to love all of lindsey's songs on SYW. now there's not one i will skip, even though i skip a lot of stevie's. but again, it took me 5 years to get there  anyone else feel like that? his songs are usually so out there, it takes you a while to appreciate them.

I completely agree. I've come to love almost everything he's ever done, but he definitely had to grow on me. There are still bits on UTS that just don't do it for me, but having listened to SYW for six years, I love every moment of him on it, having hated Come and Red Rover for years.

This. I have read on countless occasions where people have flat-out called LB an "asshole" as if they knew him. I don't think I've read anything nearly as harsh about Stevie, even when she goes on those magazine interview tours where she brings him up and slams him for whatever mean thing he did to her in the 1970s, 1980s, in the studio, the SYW tour, the hallway, etc. I get truly annoyed with her then-where she goes on about things that I personally feel could be left more private. Not because they're irrelevant or boring but because it would be a much classier thing to do.

But I don't really bash Stevie over it. She has her flaws but she's still completely herself. She will always be someone who goes on interviews and says whatever and I've come to expect it and even warmed to it. Lindsey is far, far more private and has some kind of mental mnemonic device to never forget to say the exact same thing in any interview he gives. Even to the sentence structure. That's annoying as well but, for the most part, I find the fact that he doesn't talk smack or slam as often as the others quite endearing...probably because it all had to be well thought out as only he does best. :)

I think MANY artists can be assholes. They're used to having their way with most everything, and they just become assholes, over time.

That said, I know a woman, who provided "back stage hospitality", for a Stevie show in AZ, years back, and she said that Stevie was IMPOSSIBLE. That nothing they provided her and her band, was good enough, and she complained about everything. She said that she thought Stevie was a complete bit*h.

What happened to our fall get together?:(

See, ruining your evening, is what I mean, about some fans, not being realistic about their expectations, with their heroes. They're just as real(or not), as your neighbor, or co-worker....some are nice as pie, and some are assholes. Some can be both, at different times.

And I've told you that AZ story before, my friend.

I guess I've been "in the business", too long, and met too many bitter stars. Color me jaded, perhaps. I love life, and my fellow man, but have come to realize that these "stars", can be just as jerky as anyone. Putting them on a pedestal, is a mistake. Because you'll most likely be let down.

Sleep well, my favorite 'tuckian friend!:xoxo:

i've been talking to maria about and early winter wonderland get together. i'm trying everything i can to pay my car off, and at the very latest it will be december 27th. so i've been putting all my money into that.

i don't recall.

the thing of it is, she's NOT my neighbor or co-worker and i don't have to deal with her every day. i'd like to continue to live in a nice little fantasy world bubble where stevie is as nice as she appears to the public. as far as her sprinkling fairy dust glitter out of her bum, i think it's funny so i go along with it. but honestly, my mind won't even allow me to visualize stevie #2ing or any other natural daily (or every other day, depending on your fiber intake  )routine, but it's not just stevie-it's all the members of the mac. just because you're jaded you don't have to ruin it for the rest of us fine people

PS-any chance you'll go to NOTS, even if it's just for the afterparty? i'm going and i'm dragging maria along even if i have to drug her.

Stevie's music always has, and always will, outsell Lindsey's.
That said, I'm looking forward to both (but I'd listen to Stevie's first, just because I think there are going to be more surprises on it. I have a bad feeling that Lindsey's is just going to be more of the same).

But what IS "the same" when it comes to Lindsey?

I don't know my work schedule yet, but my band only has the first weekend booked. I have lighting booked on the 2nd weekend, and I'm looking at either 17/18, or 31/1, as a Nashvegas getaway. I've never had a New Years Eve off, in my entire adult life, so I'm probably leaning towards that one, for Nashville. But I'd pick the other one, if it meant we could all get together.

Stevie goes #2??? And wipes it with her granny hands!? Say it ain't so!!!:wavey:

WHERE is NOTS? I'll probably have to enforce my "two hour concert limit"(I won't drive more than two hours to see ANYbody, unless I plan an entire vacation around it). I think I might prefer NOTB(bullets)!

If it's "more of the same" as in "more Gift Of Screws", it's more bloody fantastic music according to most Ledgies, in my experience

I agree w/ u. I just think that the insinuation was that all Lindsey sounds the same. None of this albums sound like each other to me.

^^ Definitely, definitely not. The closest you could say would be OOTC and GOS, and even then at a push.

Yes, actually I could see the criticism working the other way around, that a buyer liked one album and then got the follow up and was surprised and disappointed that it sounded nothing like the last one.

And I don't want to be a downer, but that was sort of my fear when I heard the word "acoustic" again, associated with the new album. After GOS I don't want something to be more like UTS. I loved UTS for its time, but I'm over it. NGBA:lol:.

I'm being redundant, but his approach to the "Big Love" thing on "Bel Air Rain" on GOS was really radical--for me, that's the song more than any other that captures the intensity (and sound) of his "Big Love" / "Go Insane" live versions. So maybe this time he means that when he says acoustic...?

At the very least there's hope that "acoustic" doesn't mean just one thing to Lindsey.
