"I never thought we'd meet again like this."
Anyone else listen to the clips of Dave Stewart's new album at www.theblackbirddiaries.com??
Sounds pretty good to me!
Not to mention he has a song called "Stevie Baby" and a duet with Stevie called "Cheaper Than Free". Go check it out!

My jaw dropped a bit when I heard that song...is this his profession of love for Stevie? ;-)
And the "I was leather...you were lace" line, and a reference to "fall from grace"...I love it. Very interesting. Can't wait to hear the whole track.
And Stevie's duet with him, "Cheaper than Free"...Beautiful!

I love all the references to her songs and albums. I wonder what other lyrics he has in there that intertwine with her songs. And Cheaper than Free sounds soo amazing. Definitely not the "adult contemporary" everyone was fearing.

I'm loving all over this album! It's the perfect combination of bluesy rock, sweet, great lyrics. I already have favorites (Magic in the Blues, to name one) ..........and oh yes, Stevie fans, you need to listen to Stevie Baby and Cheaper Than Free. Their voices mingle perfectly together. I'm in love hahah

Stevie Baby should have been for her ears only. It sounds as corny as that Brian Wilson love fest for her. Their duet however, is fantastic.

I completely agree, I hate to be a debbie downer John, but I do believe this is as adult contemporary as it gets  And Cheaper Than Free is great!

Cheaper than Free does not scream adult contemporary to me at all. But alas, if you say so.

What? You think a line like "I play Rock a Little just to reminisce; I never thought that we would meet like this" is corny? Surely you jest!

And I've got to say that the plodding rhymes in Cheaper Than Free don't turn me on either. I expected, "What does money not buy? Pizza pie!"

You've probably already been told this or figured it out, but if you click a couple of times on the link, you get to hear the album preview without logging in to Twitter. It worked for me yesterday.:)

Dave should have got Henley and LB to sing on "Stevie Baby". LOL.
