This website says Stevie's net worth is $40 mil, but of course it doesn't provide any support for that conclusion.

I think the bigger question is how in the hell such a nobody like Gary Barlow (crappy boyband fame) has $110 million more in net worth than Stevie O_o Making me question the site's credibility just a smidgen..

Yup. I think somebody's telling porkies lol... Why do I tend to believe wiki answers more? There is no way Lindsey has a bigger net worth than Stevie (of that magnitude even), despite how much I love the guy.

^That doesn't surprise me. Stevie really went through her money back in the day. She must have spent millions and millions on cocaine alone. At the height of her fame, she also insisted on having every single hotel room she stayed in painted white and redecorated before her arrival... all at her personal cost. She famously watched the movie "Risky Business" one night, and somehow during the night she got somebody on the phone who was able to deliver her a Porsche identical to the one in the movie by the next morning. The woman buys homes and moves constantly, too. And I think it was Courtney Love who said Stevie was the type who when she heard you were sick, would show up on your doorstep with thousand dollar cashmere blankets to give you so you could curl up and feel better. All of this stuff adds up. Stevie says she's never looked at a price tag since 1975. All of this is probably why she tours so heavily to this day... she's gotta work a lot to pay for her lifestyle!

...and she specified a 'rose' Porsche, and that's what they brought her!

I think she has way more than that, all the touring, and the publishing from 'Landslide' alone, and smart investments and handlers from the start, including her father- I'd double that figure, then some. I bet the interest alone is enough for her to live and give generously from.
Rich is rich, though, so no matter.

I would take anything on this website with a grain of salt. They list Dustin "Screech" Diamond as having a net worth of $1 million. Last I heard, he was in foreclosure on his house, which had an outstanding mortgage of, like $260K. And how could a mediocre rapper like Eve, who really hasn't had any commercial success, be worth $18 million while Norah Jones, who has multiple multi-platinum albums to her name is worth just a little more ($25mio)? And how is Anderson Cooper worth $100mio? Just ten years ago he was some kind of a local sportscaster. And he's pretty much stuck on CNN, where he barely gets any viewership at all.

But the biggest stinker of them all? Anna Nicole Smith- $450 million? For real? That means she's worth more than Elvis Presley.

Not that this is entirely relevant but I wouldn't underestimate Gary Barlow's fortune - he may be in a boyband but its an incredibly popular boyband (in europe) and they've done several hugely successful stadium tours over the past few years, plus Gary will get most of the song writing royalties not just from Take That but also from the many other people he writes for. So i'm sure he's pretty rich. You'd have thought that I'm a big Gary Barlow/Take That fan, but I'm really not.

Honestly, I think that's a gross underestimate. Also, define net worth - does this include all real-estate, stock options, mutual funds, liquid cash etc.? Who knows how much the woman has tied up (figuratively). The royalties she gets from Fleetwood Mac alone could warrant the 40 mil.
Also, frivolous spending in the 80's could potentially prove to be irrelevant today as we don't know what she did with the money she didn't blow (literally). She could have made one good investment and be beyond set for life.
And in today's fluctuating economic times I'm sure that number could potentially fluctuate dramatically from month to month or year to year.
In all honestly I couldn't begin to guess how much our girl is worth but I do feel confident it is in excess of 40 million.

I just read that the kid on Two and Half Men will make $300,000 an episode. That will be $6 million a year. And he's not even . . . does anyone watch the show just for that kid??

Well, his mother Gloria Vanderbilt is still alive and well.

Yes, I doubt that Anderson's worth $100 million, but he did just sign on to host a daytime talk show (in addition to his 360 duties). So, perhaps he'll soon be as rich as . . . Phil Donahue.

Gloria's had financial problems. She's overcome them and lives comfortably, but it's not like she's still got a collection of Vanderbilt mansions. Whatever fortune she made from the jeans is long gone. I'd say Anderson is worth more than she is.

Mick = Bankrupt (how many times?).

John = Made less than all of them (of the 5).

Christine = Hiding her $$$ in mason jars on her farm.

Lindsey = Miser. Probably has more than the witch...I mean Stevie.

Stevie = Should have more than all the rest combined. But she's still
touring. What does that tell you about her financial situation???

I think Stevie was being modest. Clearly Stevie is the tycoon in the band; one of her solo albums outsells Lindsey's entire solo output combined. And surely her publishing catalogue, especially the song "Landslide" is worth much, much more than Lindsey's. And when you factor in her highly profitable solo tours vs. Lindsey's money-losing tours, there's no comparison. Yeah, he made a few extra shekels on the production end of Rumours, but then again, the producer royalties also had to be split with Ken Caillat and Richard Dashut.

Stevie probably has a larger monthly nut than Lindsey... but not by all that much. She has her payroll- Chris, Sharon, Lori, Karen, a live-in housekeeper (presumably), etc. But Lindsey's got that new mega-mansion plus a high maintenance trophy wife and <strike>the gardener's</strike> his kids to support along with nannies and a housekeeper or two. Considering that he has probably actually earned substantial income only 3 out of the last 10 years (from touring), Lindsey probably burns through a large chunk of what he has taken home.

The highway that runs through TV Land is littered with unfortunate replacement-casting. Never once has this worked successfully. That show is awful, but Buddah knows it's a cash cow for CBS, so they're not going to risk anything. By the time the show ends it will have to be retitled "Three Men."

Indeed she did have some problems... but I suppose that's par for the course for silly old money offspring. Too bad money couldn't buy smarts! Surely Anderson Cooper is wealthy, but I seriously doubt 100 million-dollar wealthy. I know CNN is not paying him more than 7 figures annually; his nightly chat show doesn't even fetch 1 million viewers. And he most recently bought a former firehouse in the East Village that he is converting to a residence- probably paid something like $2 - 3 million for it, which is chump change by NYC standards. And his "Hamptons house" is barely in the Hamptons- it's in East Quogue! I know... horrible, right? Someone worth $100 million would probably not be living so "modestly." I think AC is probably in the solid $20 million range. But with everything going on with his career, surely he will hit $100 at some point.

Another factor, long ago, to consider is that Stevie owned one third of Modern Records, and as such, was paid far more in royalties per album sold than almost any recording artist unless they owned their masters or owned part of their record company. Not many did.
I think it would be conservative to estimate that from 'Bella Donna' to 'Street Angel' that Stevie sold nine million albums. More, even, is possible. She had the publishing from three big singles she wrote (L&L, EOS, and SB), tours, home video releases, and was one third owner of Modern. Of course, there were the costs of production and music videos, some of which was absorbed by Modern's parent company, Atlantic.
She had to have earned a minimum of $25 million from the Modern association, alone. I think more than that, but am trying to be conservative. She had a slowdown in the 90s, though 'Timespace' and the tour did well enough, then she had some 'SA' tour revenue- and a streamlined band and touring by bus for the first time to maximize profits- her people were smart when it slowed down badly in '94- and likely did well with 'Twisted' and 'Boys On The Side' - soundtracks paid hugely at the time.
This doesn't even include massive 'Rumours' sales and Tusk's year long tour, or her 80s work with Fleetwood Mac or soundtrack work in the '80s.
In '97, there was the windfall from 'The Dance' cd selling 4 million copies , vhs and dvd sales of 'The Dance' were beyond expectations, as dvd replaced vhs and retail chains had 'The Dance' dvd playing constantly- the tour was a sellout, if not long- and then, concert ticket prices began skyrocking circa 1998.
And she's toured nearly every year since 2000. That $40 million figure is crazy low. She had that much, or nearly, before 'The Dance'.

Couldn't Lindsey be worth more than Stevie because he produces? I think I read somewhere that Stevie said that Lindsey got way more than the other people in the band because of that fact.

Although, I suppose Stevie's solo career would be worth more than Lindsey's... but then again... I've gone off on a tangent here

I think Stevie would be worth about $150 million at least. Didn't they all get $9 million each from Unleashed alone? $40 million just seems... off.

Then again, Stevie went through money faster than we all go through toilet paper so, maybe it isn't so off

Buddha forbid that he actually married out of love. I don't get the Kristen bashing at all. She hasn't portrayed herself in the media or otherwise as a trophy wife or money grabber, so why just dismiss her as such? I sometimes have to wonder if it's just jealousy that he found somebody who made him happy, or maybe because it's not Stevie. I don't know Kristen and so I refuse to pass judgement on her. And imho, those children look a darn lot like Lindsey if they are the gardener's children....

...or perhaps she fits a certain trophy wife stereotype:

-~20 years younger- CHECK
-blonde with perky... collarbones- CHECK
-throws benefit luncheons with/for the other trophy wives- CHECK
-has a part-time "job" that involves spending more money than earning money- CHECK

I think you are assuming that the designation "trophy wife" is actually a bad thing. Personally I think it's more of a compliment than a dig. Trophies are rewards for diligence and excellence.

Both Stevie and Mick make it sound like Lindsey is really cheap. I'd guess he probably still had a most of all the money he earned from 1975-1997, up until the time he met his bride. Of course, marrying Kristen and starting a family increased his expenses. However, unlike John (whose house must have been falling down to sell for as little as it did in the California market), LB was able to sell his house on the hill for a fortune, which probably helped offset some of the costs for the new cheaper house and subsequent renovations.

Lindsey cheap? Surely you jest! Only a cheap person would wear the same T-shirt every night for 9 months in a row, or put up their houseguests in a trailer on the property. Lindsey would never do such a thing!

One thing I'd like to bring up is Stevie has mentioned she gave the rights to some of her biggest songs to Robin's son Matthew so he'd be set for life. We know she gave part of Stand Back to Prince and the huge fight over Silver Springs with Mick was she gave those rights to her mother and by not giving her the song for Timespace he was taking something from her mother.

The whole Landslide thing was a fluke because of the Dixie Chicks. That recording brought her millions.

Mick fleetwood
$85 Million
Michael John Kells “Mick” Fleetwood is a British musician and actor that has a net worth of $85 million. Mick Fleetwood obtained his net worth by being a drummer in the band Fleetwoord Mac. Born in Redruth, Cornwall, England, Fleetwood also lived in Egypt and Norway for a number of years because of his fathers occupation. Fleetwood was introduced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.

Stevie Nicks Net Worth
$65 Million
Stevie Nicks (Stephanie Lynn Nicks) was born in Arizona and has an estimated net worth of $65 million dollars. A singer-songwriter and musician, Stevie Nicks rose to fame with the band Fleetwood Mac in the 70’s, before embarking on a successful solo career in the 80’s. Between her work with Fleetwood Mac and her five solo albums, she has sold over 140 million albums internationally and has recorded 40 songs that have reached the top 50 on the charts.

Lindsey Buckingham
$45 Million
Lindsey Adams Buckingham is an American guitarist, singer, composer and producer who has a net worth of $45 million. Lindsey Buckingham gained his net worth by being the guitarist and singer for Fleetwood Mac. Born in Palto Alto, California, Buckingham started playing on a toy Mickey Mouse guitar before teaching himself how to play without knowing how to read music.

Christine McVie
$65 Million
Christine McVie is an English musician who has an net worth of $65 million. McVie’s net worth went through the roof when she became part of the English/American rock group, Fleetwood Mac. Born in a small English village in Cumbria, McVie had her first taste of music at the age of four, when she introduced to a piano and was reacquainted with the instrument whilst studying classical music at the age of eleven. Whilst studying for a teacher degree, McVie joined a band (Sounds of Blues) formed by two friends -by the time she graduated the band split up.

McVie’s luck was about to change when her bandmates formed another band and wanted the young graduate to join. Their first release, It’s OK With Me Baby, was written and sung of McVie. She was a lead vocalist for the single, I’d Rather Go Blind, who was a big hit in the UK. McVie received a Melody Maker Award for Best Female Vocalist in 1969 and 1970. In 1969, McVie left Chicken Shack and later joined Fleetwood Mac. McVie’s piano work can be heard on the band’s second album, Mr. Wonderful (1968). She also provided backing vocals for the fourth album, Kiln House (1970). Before she joined Fleetwood Mac, McVie- known as Christine Perfect at the time – released her solo album (self-titled) in 1970. The album was re-released in 1976 as The Legendary Christine Perfect album. When Fleetwood Mac founder Peter Green left the band in 1970, McVie became the heartbeat of the band and was responsible for the band’s string of greatest hits. The 1977 album, Rumours, became one of the best selling albums of all time. The 1979 album, Tusk, produced multiple top 20 hits in the US and UK.

By the mid eighties, McVie left the band to produce another solo album, which created a string of hits. She rejoined Fleetwood Mac to record the 1987 album Tango in the Night – which became the band’s greatest hit since Rumours. The hit singles included Little Lies and Everywhere. The nineties did not bring the same success to the band. McVie retired from Fleetwood Mac after her father died. Despite her departure, she remained loyal to the band. At the turn the turn of the century, McVie maintains a low profile. In 2004, she produced her third solo album with the help of her guitarist nephew.

i'm interested to know about Lindsey v Stevie in net worth... i mean , they were all listed as producers of Rumours... their biggest money maker so let's assume equal pay there... Linds did produce the subsequent albums, but has never had a hit like Dreams or long-lasting song like Landslide. so i assume Stevie makes MUCH more on her writing royalties. she also has had much more success touring, which is supposedly the big cash-cow according to people in the biz.

Stevie herself said that Lindsey had more money because he was a producer and because he didn't spend it. But she said this before Lindsey had a family. I'm sure that with her successful touring she has to be worth more than Lindsey is by now. But she said that Lindsey made more money than any of them. So, they all had a production credit, but he got compensated more heavily. I don't know if that started with Tusk or beforehand.

yeah i remember Stevie saying that. i assume it started with Tusk. and rich people like Stevie loooove to poor-mouth. so many variables; Stevie has HUGE overhead with the asst. and hangers-on. but Lindsey builds recording studios in his home which can't be cheap. and with his solo record sales, i would assume he makes very little after the record co. advance is repaid.

I read something in a real estate publication that Lindsey's new house (latest house) cost something like $20 million. Presumably he got a lot for his previous house, but then again they built that from scratch on his old lot after scrapping the previous house on it (including his studio The Slope) so you know that wasn't cheap.

Since the whole band are listed as producers of Rumours, Lindsey wouldn't have made any additional money off their biggest seller as a producer than the rest.

Stevie over the years has given away royalties to some of her biggest songs to friends and family, so that eats into her income. (Look at the publishing on some of her biggest hits... e.g. Rhiannon). And she doesn't pay attention to where her money is being invested (in an interview when asked how she manages her money she states she has people to do that for her, and when then asked what those people are investing her money in she says "I have no idea". Doh. ) She's definitely NOT from the Oprah school of "sign every check yourself". One suspects Lindsey is more so.

Christine certainly has enough to have bailed out Mick several times, supported Dennis Wilson and all his habits, and who knows what Eddie Quintela might have gotten in a divorce settlement.

Speaking of which, does anyone know if Kim Anderson got big bucks after his divorce from Stevie? I have read that she provided financial support for Matthew. And we know she provides income for Chris and Lori and Jessica.

And I went to a bunch of celebrity net worth websites and they all say the same thing. I wouldn't really believe any of them. Also this is the same website I was on early last year, maybe the year before that and it said the same thing then that it is saying now. These websites don't seem to be updated at all. As far as Mick goes who knows. If that music thing he and his investors are working on comes to the market and does well, he'll be a whole lot richer than that.

And we know she provides income for Chris and Lori and Jessica.

did they divorce or have an annullment? regardless i doubt he would have much of a claim for a 3 month marriage. also, the only royalty i've heard of her giving away was Silver Springs to her mom. i don;t think she's as flighty as she portrays herself in interviews. She's pretty smooth and polished in who she hires and works with.

I don't have it here in front of me but on one of their recent cds (I'm thinking maybe the Rumours reissue and/or the White Album reissue) the listing of the owners of the publishing for Stevie's songs were all sorts of companies I'd never heard of before. Not the usual Welsh Witch Music admin by Sony ATV or whomever, with much of the Mac stuff copublished with whatever was the band's publishing unit. Songs like Rhiannon and several other of her biggest hits (written by her alone) had MULTIPLE publishers...none related to the band.

When I have time I will double check. I just remember being quite astonished by how many songs and the caliber of songs affected.

I think she hires top people but I really wonder how closely she monitors them herself. I bet Karen does...

You guys are missing the point. Celebrity Net Worth is just wrong. Mick has been bankrupt and has complained about the songwriters making a lot more from the albums than him. Lindsey gets huge royalties from producing the most popular albums. Stevie has a whole, successful solo career. Mick might be worth 15 to 20 million, but there is no way in hell he is worth 85 million. That is why he is always wanting them to tour. Plus, Stevie has made money from her own solo tours.

My guess is Lindsey and Stevie worth around 85 million. Christine around 50 million. Mick and John from 15 to 30 million. Mick would be lucky to have that much the way he spends. John is more settled.

I think we all pretty much agree with you on that Jondalar; I think the discussion has gotten away from whether the particular numbers on that website are accurate to a more general discussion about the relative wealth of the various members of the band, and how and where they might have earned it and how and where they might spend/piss it away.

Producing is certainly not the only way to make moola. All the merchandising (tee shirts etc) on tours for years and years and years was really where the big money was on tours (not sure if that still holds... or maybe still true for the really big bands. I don't think LB or SN make millions on the merchandise the way a FMac tour does or the way say Stevie did in the 80s)
Don't forget, every time you hear one of their songs on the radio, on satellite radio, on the Muzak played in stores etc... ka-ching. Recently Holiday Road has been featured in an insurance ad.....ka-ching. Having other people cover your songs and make them hits all over again to a new audience (Dixie Chicks!) ka-ching ka-ching ka-ching..... smart real estate investments ka-ching, publishing royalties, performing royalties, producing royalties, artist royalties.......... they could all easily do what Christine has done and never worry for a penny again...

That was my thought exactly...she's got royalty money coming in, and while she isn't touring like Stevie/the rest of FM, I'm fairly certain she's not spending the money like they are either. I have no way of knowing, but I absolutely imagine she's living in a very modest English manor, somewhere in the countryside where things just aren't that expensive (as opposed to a swanky London loft).

I saw a couple of years back that this site listed Mick as being worth 85 million and did not believe it.I do however think that since 1975 he and Stevie have easily spent the most of the band members.Mick's problem was that when Fleetwood Mac was not active he did not have much money coming in compared to the 3 writers .Stevie of course also had her solo career but even she must have been getting low on cash by the mid nineties when she had to use money from The Smashing Pumpkins cover of Landslide to repair her swimming pool.So The Dance came along just in time.

WildHearted
06-19-2012, 09:17 PM
She might not have HAD to use the Landslide royalties to fix her pool. It might just have been something that she decided to do in light of having a little extra income, but would have waited and done at a different time otherwise because it wasn't a priority.

But, I have no clue what the story even was with that as I've never heard it before haha I'm just being contrary for the sake of it. :)

If Stevie said that, it must have been just an off-handed way of saying the song made her a little extra money. You can INSTALL a swimming pool for $30,000. When was the last time Stevie couldn't come up with that?

BombaySapphire3
06-19-2012, 09:58 PM
She did say it.I'm probably not that creative to have made it up.;)The way she said it in an interview seemed to infer that the pool may have remained in dissrepair if not for the royalties from the Pumpkin's cover. This was also shortly after the IRS went after her for tax deductions for her wardrobe so times may have been not that great. She also commented later that she had never come close to being broke so who knows.

But when they do this kind of thing (or when Forbes and Fortune make lists), they like to count things that can be measured through public records. Royalties, contractual deals (like movie pay or points, Vegas deals), box office proceeds, record sales, etc.

If your fortune has grown privately from your stock or real estate investments or because you've saved a lot of money (and did it back when interest rates actually rewarded you for saving), no one is going to know that, so you aren't going to rank. I always hear about people who have lots more money than their careers would warrant (like that Wayne Rogers guy from M*A*S*H who is much richer than Alan Alda due to his business dealings, yet Alan Alda would probably make a "richest" list a lot faster than Wayne).

I know what you mean about the other FM members. I know people have talked about it here (yeah Viv) but I never saw anything about Christine selling her music rights and making a lot of money from that. Something like that wouldn't just show up in Billboard magazine once. I think we'd see several news reports about it. I would love the details of that deal. While Mick seems to be a spendthrift, I wonder if John has saved a lot of money. He doesn't seem to spend a lot -- at least the house that he sold before moving to Hawaii was a modest one.

Regarding the original post...Mick could have a higher net worth than Stevie, thougg it seems unlikely. Net worth covers far more than cash in the bank - homes, other real estate, cars, planes, artwork and other cultural assets, the value of contracts that have not yet been fulfilled, book royalties, that wine crap, that MP3 technology crap, investments including stock - all of these would contribute to his net worth.

I don't think there's a snowball's chance that Mick has more than Stevie. After all the financial trouble he's been through (multiple times), I think all he has is what Stevie has helped him make, and I'm sure her investments outweigh his as well.

I don't think most of his business ventures have panned out. People could lay odds on how long the Hawaiian restaurant will be open.

My point is just that we don't know. We don't know any of them personally, and we don't know anything about their finances other than what we speculate or through hearsay.

Ultimately I agree with you and I do believe Stevie is probably the most well off of the bunch, but again, none of us here knows that with any certainty.

As of 2012, Christine has 65 million. I'm pretty sure Stevie and Lindsey's are much higher now because they are touring. But then they are also spending a lot, too.

Thats not bad for Christine since she is retired and running little projects here and there.

Lindsey's is at $45 mill.

Stevie Nicks Net Worth: How Rich Is The Queen Of Rock and Roll?

http://www.jobsnhire.com/articles/18200/20150202/stevie-nicks-net-worth-how-rich-is-the-queen-of-rock-and-roll.htm

By Jobs & Hire Staff Reporter 2/2/2015

Stevie Nicks Net Worth - Any true rocker knows the legend of Stevie Nicks. From her days with Fleetwood Mac to her highly successful solo career, Nicks has cemented her place as a Queen in the world of Rock and Roll. Since she appeared on the cover of the Rolling Stone magazine last month, many fans may be wondering what is Stevie Nicks net worth.

According to several sources, Nicks is estimated to have about $75 million. The 66-year-old singer and songwriter remains incredibly active - notwithstanding the fact that she has been in the music business for well over three decades.

Her 8th solo studio album titled 24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault was released in Sept. last year. The album, which contains several unreleased demos, has been widely acclaimed by critics and debuted at number seven on the Billboard chart.

Stevie Nicks, who also has about 7 albums with Fleetwood Mac, has continued to perform with the band. Recently she opened up about their experiences with drug addiction in the past and why she cannot leave Fleetwood Mac.

"We choose to stay,' she explains. "Because we can't do anything else None of us are ever going to stand up and say, 'I'm going to make my own choice for the first time in my life, and I'm going away, and I don't know if I'm coming back."

The other female member of Fleetwood Mac, Christine McVie, who left the group in 1998, rejoined them on stage for a performance in the UK before subsequently announcing her intention to come back to the band fulltime. McVie has since been welcomed back into Fleetwood Mac and has performed with the band on their latest On the Show Tour, which started in Sept. 2014 and is set to end in June this year in Dublin, Ireland.

75 million still seems low.

Net worth is what you've made over the years, the value of your publishing catalogue (if you sold it today), the value of property that you own (she's got at least 3 that we know of-- the big house, the condo, and the trailer home-- all in and around Santa Monica/Malibu, so those are worth multiple millions each, at least the house and the mobile home are for sure..check the real estate listings for those neighborhoods)
AND the value of all her investment portfolio(s) and her back catalogue and her touring revenue and merchandising (tee shirts, dvds, etc) revenue….

And Lindsey should be worth even more, as he was as Stevie has noted the most frugal of them (Richard Dashut has said this as well, LB was pretty careful with spending on well, clothes and stuff LOL certainly not on recording equipment and houses). He owned his Bel AIr house on the hill for like 20 or so years and had huge equity in it-- it sold for $20 million or so… plus HE gets all producer royalties… I mean Richard still gets producer royalties and that's enabled him to live without making much money since and continue to live for the rest of his life. yes his costs are lower than theirs, but he ain't exactly living poor my friends.

So I think these numbers seem low after almost 40 years of making money.

I not a wine drinker. But how does Micks wine taste.

How does Mick's wine taste? I'd like to know. It's probably a high price point beyond my reach.

I don't drink wine, but I do take it as a gift when I'm invited to dinner. Maybe I should try to find a bottle of Mick's.

Kudos to whoever changed "that word" to "confused".
