Lindsey's song's....

Second Hand News is such a fun song. I love plying this song in the car on trips. Love the harmonies in this too. Good fun. One of my mom's favs too.

Never Going back Again is pure joy. Great great guitar work. It's short so I can never get enough. This song got my aide in school hooked on the mac:thumbsup:

Go Your Own Way Is classic It just pounds.....The ending solo is just brutal...in the best way. I prefer this album version to any live version i've heard.

Rumours....Lindsey in top form.

Oh The chain is great for Lindsey's swear:nod:Lol

Lindsey's songs on Rumours are what Christine's songs are on Tango in the Night and Stevie songs are on Tusk: their top form and their best.

1. Second Hand News- Fun, catchy little number and a great album opener
2. Never Going Back Again- While I prefer live Big Love for his acoustic work, this song is still enjoyable in it's own right. BTW, I dig the old live versions with Mick on brushes and John on acoustic bass
3. Go Your Own Way- Definitely my pick. First Mac song I ever heard and I hve come to associate it with my relationship with my ex, where I gave him a lot, he never gave back, and in the end, I told him to go his own way.

Oh yeah, and as for The Chain, I'll say it and I'll say it again: that song rules, and Bucky's F-bomb at the beginning only helps lol.

I'm quite a fan of SHN and, obviously GYOW is an immortal and still ignites live audiences.

If I was a musician, I would probably appreciate NGBA more. I don't dislike it at all. But it's not a Top 10 LB song for me.

Yes! My band was playing last night, and my bass player was having amp issues...so I played NGBA, instrumentally only, for a couple minutes, until the problem was resolved.
Almost every time I pick up an acoustic guitar, I play NGBA.

All of his Rumours songs are excellent and for the first time he appears to be a songwriter who can go toe-to-toe with Christine and Stevie.

Second Hand News is what Monday Morning wants to be--an all-out rocker that kick starts the proceeding with real umph.

I don't really like Never Going Back Again but realize this is a matter of taste. The writing and performance are very effective.

Go Your Own Way. Is there an angrier break-up song in in rock-and-roll? I rarely find one of Lindsey's tunes to be the best on an FM recording but on Rumours GYOW is the premier cut. I get swept up in its energy every time I hear it.

Second Hand News - its okay not my favorite

Never Going Back Again - like it, nice and simple

Go Your Own Way - my favorite of his from Rumours, probably may fav of all of his songs... his voice when hits that "You Can Go Your Own Waaaaaaay!! :D

I've said before that I'm not a big fan of Lindsey's songs, but I like his vocals on Christine's and Stevie's songs, i.e. The Chain, Don't Stop, I Don't Want to Know.

Rumours to me is the first "band" album of the Rumours era grouping. While the white album sold well, to me it was a hodge podge of things the band came together with previously. To me it was 1/2 Buckingham Nicks, and 1/2 Heros/Mystery to Me. With the only song that seemed like a progression to a a band sound being Rhiannon, which was still in it's infancy as a song at the merger.

However, when we arrive at Rumours we find an album where all parties seem to be coming together (even while personally they are pulling apart) to put the best that each person has to offer on every song, and to really push a "band" sound. There is nearly zero solo feel to any song. Sometimes Tusk gets a rap as being overproduced (which it is), but it's no more overproduced than Rumours the members of the band just swim the same direction down stream together on this one.

It's a true gem of pop/rock (not my favorite FM album, but it's place in thier catalog is important to aknowledge). Overproduced at times, but done (largely by LB) with the blessing of the band, unlike Tusk where we seem some disagreement in sound.

Second Hand News......very catchy tune. I wonder if more die hard fans can tell me exactly when this song was written. It seems to have appeared live prior to the end of the White Album tour. I'm guessing it came together during that tour, as his first song once the band formed. Because of that we find it on the begining of the album I think. Of course it's been documented several times. This song is about as upbeat as you can get muscially, and about as depressing as you can get lyrically. The juxtiposition of the two makes this song a classic, which will never get enough credit.

NGBA-Unique to any other song LB writes. To me this in large part is the greatness of the song. Regardless how catchy it is, or what the story is, this song is one that is hard to copy indirectly without it being obvious. And LB was wise to never try to do it.

GYOW--Maybe the best known LB song worldwide. Hardcore MAC fans sometimes like to act like it's been overplayed and it's not as cool as song other songs....but come on when nobody's looking you rock out to this song. Again much on par with YMLF, and Don't Stop songs you introduce people too, and the lyrics are things everyone can relate to.

Don't Stop...while a great collabaration with CM but it's a CM song.

The Chain........you can put everyone's name on it all you want...this is an LB song. And epitomizes the movement towards full band songs of this album.

IDWTK---I probably listend to this song 20 times before I caught it was a SN song. It felt totally LB on this one to me. You can feel the SN in it, but this song had to be close to a 50/50 split in actual development. Very tightly played Buckingham Nicks feel here, with a great baseline, and drum pieces added in, and with LB singing instead it's easier from CM to sing backup as well, rather than SN singing lead.
