I'm sure most of us here on The Ledge enjoy a glass of wine or 5, or beer, or, or, or... so I thought I'd see what everyone likes! I haver a few:
White Wine: A ice cold Pinot Grigo/Sauvignon Blanc
Red Wine - Rioja or Pinot Noir
Cocktail: White Russian, Whisky Sour, Margarita
Whisky: Balvenie 12 yr old (Doublewood if possible), or Jura
Beer: Macbeth (I think!)
Phew - and I only meant to put on drink! You don't all have to categorise likethis - it's my ocd listmaking kicking in again!
So guys... what's your tipple?

Ahhh, the Two Buck Chuck. I don't drink wine, because the smell reminds me of unpleasant things, but if I did, it'd be Two Buck Chuck or perhaps some Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill, decanted nicely in a plastic travel coffee mug, because I am a classy broad like that.
I actually do not drink very often, and when I do, it's usually just socially, but when I do indulge, I want something awesome. I am a beer chick, and quite fond of Mexican beers. Bohemia, Negro Modelo, Dos Equis & Tecate are lovely.
And I will inhale any Guinness that comes within a ten foot radius of my face.
When I was spending New Year's in Seattle with my sister a few years ago, she introduced me to this amazingly tasty little thing called a Washington Apple. OMG ARE THOSE DELICIOUS. I am not sure what all is in it, but of what I can name for certain, it's got cranberry juice, Crown Royal, and Sour Apple Pucker. We did the shots, and they taste just like an apple - a cold, refreshing alcoholic apple. You can get them made as not-shots, too, and I believe they add 7-UP for the filler, but my sister says it dilutes the taste too much for her.
Oh, and our local Shop 'n Save has margaritas and daquiris in individual pouches, with the alcohol already mixed in. Just pop into freezer for a few hours (or be lazy and grab the already frozen ones out of the freezer at the store), stab a straw in that ****, and you have a Capri Sun for grown-ups. We bought a slew of them for the 4th, and they were tasty - I liked the peach one best, but the traditional margarita flavor is also quite good, and the strawberry daquiri is nommy.

bottled stuff: smirnoff ice, bartles and james, mike's hard lemonade
wine makes me sick. I try to be classy and I wind up with a stomach ache :(

Ahh wine, yes I love it. I like mixed drinks better than straight hard alcohol shots or whatnot, tastes like ****.
Non-alcoholic I like plain old water, sweet tea, mixed fruit juices. I'm not big on soda really, & when I do drink it it's usually diet.
I used to be a coffee junkie but I recently stopped drinking it.

I've never been one for drinking. I've been pretty much forced to have a sip of wine during Passover sedars (I don't care what my parents say about it being sweet, that stuff tastes nasty) and I tried to mix vanilla Pepsi with Bacardi and well...you can only begin to imagine how it tasted.
I've also never been one for coffee (unless you count those supermarket Frappucions you buy in bottles that I con my parents into buying if I have to wake up early for a trip), but these days, I've had a thing for Vitamin Water (the XXX berry one is good), but I've been a big drinker of water and soda in general.

Oh, gosh... where to begin?
White Wine: Chardonnay (J Lohr and Rombauer are my favs), and am a big fan of Sparkling/Champagne, too :D
Red Wine: Pinot Noir is my fav, but a good Merlot or Cabernet is lovely, too.
Cocktails: Vodka Dirty Martini, Long Island Iced Tea, Margarita, most anything so long as it doesn't have brown liquor in it
Beer: I mainly drink what my friend Lee and I affectionately call "girly beer" while boating in the summer, ie: Smirnoff Ice, Bacardi Silver, et al. Though I am learning to choke down Coors Light and Bud Light Lime when the situation is dire enough.

Lord, where do I start?
Perhaps with what I DON'T like!
Gin
Southern Comfort
Yukon Jack
Most white wine(although I opened a 10yo bottle of Gewurztraminer, a couple of weeks ago, and it was WONDERFUL)
I like everything else. :D
Okay, favorites would be:
Most dry, red wines(nothing sweet, that candy-assed wine is for pussies)
Vodka/Cran
Whiskey/Sprite(Caffeine free Coke if I can get it - I don't do caffeine)
Jim Beam Red Stag(black cherry flavored Jim Beam)/Sprite
I used to love beer, but only drink it now, pretty much, if I'm out, and pacing myself, because I have to drive home. I used to think I liked all the heavier beers, but they can now kiss my ass. Gimme a PBR, or Miller Lite, and that's all I want. **** like Killions, or Sierra Nevada, or whatever, is just "flavor overload". I don't need a spice rack dumped into my beer(Dierks Bentley has a song, "anything domestic, light and cold").

That's the only brand of Passover wine that I know of. Interestingly enough, yesterday when I was out collecting cans and bottles I happened to pull a bottle out of a paper bag and it was Manishevitz grape flavored wine. I thought to myself, "what drunkard was desperate enough to drink this ****?"

Again, louie - we must have a drink together! I do love Pinot Noir and Margaritas. As for beer, "girly" beer is a polite term, PG-13 term for that I've heard such beers referred to as, haha! Do you mean that Coors and Bud Light are the strongest you have? They're like slightly hoppy flavoured water! I'll bring some real ale over from Scotland for ya, along with a nice single malt...

means nothing to me...Try viewing loved ones in caskets who died way before their time because of alcohol, Be it they drank themselves to death or died because of some elses irresponsibility while being drunk...I've lost 5 family members due to someone elses irresponsibility while drinking (Including my Father when a DRUNK plowed headon into our car on Oct.22,1977) and 1 relative because he believed drinking is safer than smoking/drugs, but of course his liver found out otherwise. :wavey:

Let me clarify, if you want to drink do it at home and dont cause another family grief due to a poor choice you may make (Something I have ALL too often seen living in an area considered as an "Indian Reservation")

Well I have a soft spot for sangria (RED!) since I drink it at least twice a week at my favorite restaurant/bar in the world... I love all wine (seriously, ALL WINE) and most light liquors but I generally steer clear of dark beer and dark liquor. I can deal with light beer but it isn't my drink of choice. I'm all about vodka cranberrys and mojitos.

You might be surprised to find that our thinking is exactly alike. I just get annoyed at people that lecture me for my "abusing" of my own body (usually I'm done by about four drinks, give or take a couple depending on how I'm feeling), despite my body not affecting anyone else around me. Cheers for the clarification. :)

That Oliver soft red is too sweet for me. My cousin loves it, and always brings it to my house. I mean, I CAN drink it(it IS alcohol, after all:lol:), but again, it's just too sweet. I like my reds to bitch slap me upside the head! Dry and a little bitter!
I had a shot called an Assassin, the other night. Tasted like chocolate. It had Jameson (sp), Bailey's, and a couple of other things(but I didn't see what they were). Tasty!

Louis Jadot Pinot Noir - again a lovely french red great with seafood and poultry.
Franciscan Cabernet Sauvignon - robust and full...pairs wonderfully with beef, game and pork.
I believe a nice fruity red like the Pinot or Beaujolais pairs perfectly with seafood and poultry...and reject the notion that these foods must be paired with a white wine.

I think there's a major difference between enjoying a drink and being a drunk, but I know where you are coming from. I quite enjoy good beer and the occasional mixed drink, but one case of Guinness can sit in my house for months without getting finished.
My mother drank (and drank and drank and drank) and it killed her in one of the more horrific ways I've ever heard about - but not only that...her drinking made her MEAN. So I avoid over-indulging, because there is no way in hell I want to end up like she did, or behave like she did, or get as sick as she did, and you always hear tell that alcoholism runs in families. I don't have any idea of what the "limit" is - like, what's the tipping point for me, where's the line where I cross over from just enjoying a drink to needing a drink? So, for me, it's best to keep it to a very minimal amount.
That said, every year when my kids ask me what I want for Mother's Day (or Christmas, or my birthday, or any other occasion when a gift might be called for), I tell them I want a bourbon IV because they're driving me crazy. ;)
They have yet to cough one up, but a girl can dream...

These are amazing! I drank them when I visited Cuzco in 2002.
Beer: I prefer locally crafted beers. There are over 300 beers brewed in the Denver area and most of them are absolutely delicious. New Belgium Brewery is my favorite, with their Ranger IPA, Sunshine Wheat, 1554 black ale and Fat Tire amber ale. Overall, I prefer smoked porters and rich, chocolatey stouts - Left Hand Brewery in Boulder makes a delicious stout.
Wine: a Malbec from Argentine (Mapema is the best) or a Temperanillo from Spain. Bodegas winery in Spain is my favorite there - they make a great Crianza under their LAN label.
Otherwise, I like vodka - Ciroc or Stoli, preferably. I keep it simple: vodka and 7. I'll drink margaritas, but only with Patron Silver or Don Julio Blanco. Although I don't care much for rum, a good mojito is always, always sure to make me smile.
One thing I can say about alcohol: better is better. No cheap hang-over inducing stuff for me, and since I never drink to get drunk, it really does matter.
