Thought this would be kind of cool. We're talking people you know, physically, who is the most beautiful person you know of your attracted sex?
There's a girl who I don't know very well from Western who is a very beautiful girl. She's also a very good person as well, but just for looks go- she's so subtly beautiful. Her name is She has these enormous and stellar greenish-blue eyes and a smile that goes on for days. A beautiful smile with simple straight brown hair. She is quite the piece.
So- who is it for you? Who is the most beautiful woman (or man) you know? :)

You're so silly Ethan! I don't mean to sound cliche, but beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. Of course there will always be those that are undeniably beautiful (a la Nicks) but I see beauty in so many other ways in a person than physicality. True beauty comes from the heart and shines brightly for others to see. It's omnipresent in your spirit and is the true essence of who you are. I have many beauties in my life, both male and female and I feel very fortunate that way.
*I would say I'm the most beautiful woman I know .

The man would be me.
The woman could be
Angelina Jolie or Penelope
Cruz.
Or going back in the time machine
to the 1960's, I'd say Ann Margaret
or Jocelyn Lane.

between 2 women who mean (or meant) different things to me in different times in my life:
Debbie A. Johnson
and
Christy Coale (bka Tamara Christine Brown - aka the Ledgie "nickay"...How we met is still the most amazing thing in my mind, somewhat in a NOT explainable way. Destiny at play I guess...Let's say our relationship is basically the book/movie "The Notebook")
They know when you're slobbering at them because they're beautiful. Don't be that boy that can't take your eyes off her because she's beautiful.
Only time in my life where I could not take my eyes off a beautiful female was with the above mentioned Christy Coale...Not a sexual lust thing, but something in the grouping of "knowing someone but you never met this person before" (She mentioned the same thing to me...Weird, 22 years later the feeling is still there.)

I can't believe I'm even replying to this thread...
I am lucky. (and biased!) The most physically beautiful person I've ever seen is my oldest daughter, Samantha. This kid is Barbie perfect.
The most beautuful soul I've ever seen is my Sara. This child loves everyone, cares for every animal, takes time to hang out with the "not-so-cool" kids, plays with little ones, and takes care of mama when she's sick. She is truely a beautiful person. Inside and out.
Ethan, outer beauty is just that. Nice to look at, but not always a pleasure to be around. Most beauty queens know they're pretty. I live with a beautiful girl. She hears it all the time. I used to think I wanted to be beautiful, but after seeing what she goes through... I don't know if I could deal with it. Some grown men and boys can't control themselves around a beautiful girl. I've seen them smack into door frames staring at her, grab her ass, tits, talk down to her, keep talking when she's clearly not interested, she's been threatened, stalked, and treated like ****. They know when you're slobbering at them because they're beautiful. Don't be that boy that can't take your eyes off her because she's beautiful. They hate that.

Lmao..clever. And talking of Juliet..I went down to London last month as Elizabeth (along with Morena and Scott from V) were doing a Q&A at the apple store (see...I wasn't lying about the girl crush..haha). Anyway... I come out the store...put my iPod on shuffle and the first song to play was Juliet! Spooky!

Both of your girls are beautiful.
And yes, on the hating it. My best friend is a very handsome guy. Women hit on him. Gay men hit on him. And he hates the attention(or says he does, anyway). I don't think I'd enjoy that sort of attention, at all(not that I have anything to worry about:lol:).
It HAS to be better, having someone want you, and want to be with you, after getting to know you, and know that you're real, than because you're all shiny and chrome covered.

Thanks for this. The poor little pretty girl rant usually doesn't go over so well, but it's true. I'm not exactly Angelina Jolie, but the way that I look does define most of my interactions, and I downplay my looks on a regular basis because I've learned the hard way that other women treat you much differently if you're "incidently pretty" than if you're "using it to your advantage." And by that, they usually mean having the gall to fix yourself up the way they fix themselves up in the morning. Good times. Then, of course, there's the joy of wondering what your life is going to be like when you age, when all the things that you take for granted disappear. You wonder if you have the personality for people to actually like you for yourself. Yeah. Good times, indeed.
Outer beauty is fleeting and so hard to quantify. Besides, the closer I get to someone, the less I'm able to even notice what the rest of the world sees them as. I really believe that my ex-boyfriend is the best looking man on the face of the Earth. He's probably not. Other people don't treat him like he is, at least. But I can't think of a single person above him. And I'm so bad at judging what my best friend looks like that I tell people it's like I've never seen her. Going off of her boyfriends, I've decided that she's probably slightly better than average looking. She has the most beautiful soul, though, that much I know.

It's true. Samantha clearly knows she's beautiful. She isn't a bitch about it though. She has a hard time deciding who's genuine and who's blinded by beauty. She hates that her girlfriends tell her they think she's prettier without make up. "Am I really prettier without, or do they want me to look more plain?" She said something striking to me the other day... something along the lines of wondering if she got psoriasis to keep her grounded. The girls want to be her, the boys want to be with her. I don't know. She has a wonderful personality and spirit about her, and as age takes it's toll, she will still have inner beauty about her.
Thanks for appreciating this, Angelina!

Seriously though, I listened to "Prettiest Girl In The World" the other day and thought that we should have a thread like that here, since we hadn't really before.
I promise, I am not lusting after anyone right now. There really are too many emotional ups and downs going on with my family to really let myself go on that one. This Katie girl that I mentioned is just someone who I've seen around campus, and know a little about her- but have never actually talked to her.

You know, I almost mentioned something similar to the above - my best friend, that I hang with several nights a week, is VERY handsome. Gets hit on constantly. So even though I look okay, I'm still the ugly one, next to him, no matter what. And, to be honest, it gets frustrating....always being the 2nd choice. I do MUCH better, on the nights we don't hang out. I wouldn't trade his friendship for anything, but again, it's just frustrating, always being....their 2nd choice.
While I know it is different for women, for the first time in my life, I've beaten weight. I've always been 30-40 lbs overweight. And I've had new eating habits for a year now. And lost 45 lbs. I'm now 135(I'm 5'10"), and haven't deviated from that, for a month now. Shirts went from XL, to SMALL. No ****. I can even wear some extra smalls!!!
I can tell you that 45 lbs ago, I rarely got hit on. I get hit on a lot now....as long as my best friend isn't around!
But on the fukc it - I mean everything other than my weight. Although, when I hit 55 or so, and the face is starting to fall, run me through the plastic surgeon's office. Yank that **** back, Doc, and grab your stapler!!!

Deliciously harsh . But i'm biased. I find this thread disturbing (for me). There are 2 views, from the ones who are "beautiful", or think they are, and from the ones who believe deeply that they're included in the other category. Disturbing because i can, or think i can analyze people's behaviour, and still not know what to do with my self-esteem and image, or rather my lack of self-esteem. Actually i don't know.
And Stevie Nicks and Marilyn Monroe are the only names that come through my mind when i try to answer the initial question.

See, that's the thing: Although it often sounds like losing weight is the magic cure-all for women, I think that only applies to men. Women also have to be facially attractive, otherwise you're stuck in the unfortunate butterface or, alternately, butterbody category. I'll work on my body all I want, but the fact remains that I'll be right beside you waiting for that stapler! (Or at the bank, robbing it)

I had a big ol' bowl of vitriol this morning, excuse me.
I think it's okay to talk about it. Both sides included. It seems to be more taboo for attractive people to acknowledge their attractiveness, as Marissa said. If you just happen to be a pretty girl, then that's fine. But god help if you if you ever acknowledge it.
On the other side of the coin, I'm not in the genetically blessed category, so why not be honest about it? Self-awareness is important. This is less encouraged, because everyone wants to be delicate about it. But trust me, just as a gorgeous woman knows early on in life where she stands, so do the ones who aren't as pretty. I'm sure if I was in that category, I'd know about it by now, so let's be realistic. I'm ~cute~ because I'm so ~*tiny*~ and pixielike or whatever the **** spin people put on it, but cute doesn't always cut it.
ON TOPIC, la Nicks c. 1976 is actual perfection.

(Or at the bank, robbing it)
I think maybe you're right, about it doing more for men, than women. Because I haven't done anything else! I saw an old friend today, who was remarking on my weight loss, and said, "I'll bet you jog all the time now". I laughed! Hell no, I just starve, I don't exercise!
See, the weight loss DID a lot for me, facially. Because I was all JOWL-Y, when I was 45 lbs more. And that's all gone now.
One downside.... My waist is ridiculously small now, for a man. I was searching for jeans at Kohl's yesterday, and 29"'s are the smallest they carry, and those are too big for me now. I found two pairs of 27"'s, at Goodwill(they are kid's jeans, but they fit, at least). Those are the only jeans I have now, that fit. I guess I need to stop some tiny guy, and ask him where he buys jeans.
27 x 32's, are impossible to find!
And hell yes, again, on the facelift. When the time finally comes, "staple me back, Doc". Make me look like I'm on the world's fastest roller coaster! :D

Deliciously harsh . B.
It's a little less delicious when it's directed at you, and your crime was paying someone a compliment.
I'm also a little confused on what you found disturbing about this thread. You mention the "ones who are beautiful or think they are." Hi. My name's Marissa. I'm the only one who placed herself as attractive, so if you're going to talk about me, address me directly. I never said that I was beautiful, I said I was pretty, but the former is probably true on a good day, too, sure, so I'll own it.
Now, as your apparent resident beautiful girl in this thread, let's talk about what's disturbing about my posts. Is it disturbing that I recognize this as a trait that I have? I hope not. If it is, it's also disturbing that I like to think about myself as caring and intelligent. Is it disturbing because, since you are able to analyse behaviors, and you can't place yourself in either catorgory, I shouldn't be able to either?
Well, ask me the last time I went to a cafe and paid full price, or, most often, paid at all, for my coffee. Ask me how many people have asked for my number recently. Or, better yet, ask me how comfortable it is to walk down a street alone, how many friends I have who haven't tried to be more than that, and if people have a tendency to disregard the things that I say, whether they be...I don't know...compliments or work strategies, because of the way I look. If I couldn't form some sort of conclusion based on that, I would be a complete idiot. I'm not. I'm sorry genetics were kind to me there, too.

I'm sorry, but it's always been a problem for me, you know, self image and self esteem. I know that i'm not the ugliest person in the world, but i look at myself in a mirror, i can't help but think "oh god, what's that?". So that's disturbing for me. I think it has a lot to do with my teenage years : i don't know if i'm in one category, objectively, or in the other one. People here seem to know who they are, and i'm a bit confused, that's why i think this way. I don't find it disturbing that you know that you're beautiful, and you objectively are, but it's disturbing not to know where you actually are. i mean myself. I can't make myself clear, and i didn't want to offend anyone. And what "golddustsongbird" said is still for me, funny and harsh, because of the situation, and not because of you. i don't have the time to think about it now, but i guess i'll post something more intelligent later.

Obviously I don't need to speak for SleeplessChild, but what I said in my other reply stands: It's fine for people to know what they are. Smiley face aside, self-awareness isn't a crime. It's a double edged sword: If you say you're attractive, then the knee jerk reaction from some people is that you must be conceited. Downplaying it might make people think you are truly not aware of what you are (thus, maybe dumb?), or it might aggravate them even more if they think you're playing dumb.
Alternately, if someone comes out and says they're ugly or that they feel that way, it's almost guaranteed that someone will try to dissuade them. So... looking at it like that, if you want to be black and white about it, then it seems no one can comment on their own appearance. I don't believe that, but you can't expect discussions about this without amounts of emotion coming into play.
in the same vein, I'd have to be an idiot to think I was attractive. I don't want to be the ugly girl with the inflated ego. That's as bad as a gorgeous one who purposely uses her looks to her advantage every chance she gets.

I think it's interesting that you see that as a negative and (seemingly) as lying. I understand being objective, especially in a thread like this, but at the same time, most people do have something about them that's objectively physically pretty, whether it's good arms or eyebrows or a smile. Would you think it was wrong for someone to say to an unattractive person something like "No, you're not hideous, you have such a great ____ ?" I'm actually asking, by the way, that isn't rhetorical. I don't think that people who give out compliments to people who aren't Miss America are necessairly being patronizing.

Not in the least. Honestly? I'm having a hard time explaining this because I only apply it to myself. I don't hold anyone to the standards I hold myself to, thank god. I don't think it's wrong to really compliment someone. And it isn't wrong to accept one. I have an odd tendency to find "prettiness" where someone else may not. I'm not sure why.
Good lord, is this true:
It's a double edged sword: If you say you're attractive, then the knee jerk reaction from some people is that you must be conceited. Downplaying it might make people think you are truly not aware of what you are (thus, maybe dumb?), or it might aggravate them even more if they think you're playing dumb.
I also think that if someone is pretty, but the self-esteem doesn't match, she may be perceived as someone who is fishing for compliments. I wish I had understood how pretty I was in my younger years. I really struggled with self esteem for many years. Only now, in my 40s, do I have an air of confidence that probably doesn't even match the reality! (Ala Elaine in Seinfeld, "...is it possible I'm not as attractive as I think I am?') :)
Alternately, if someone comes out and says they're ugly or that they feel that way, it's almost guaranteed that someone will try to dissuade them. So... looking at it like that, if you want to be black and white about it, then it seems no one can comment on their own appearance.
I believe that we all are capable of finding beauty in people when the reality may be different . I had a boyfriend once that I found pretty physically unattractive at first sight. After getting to know him, I became really attracted to him and ended up with him for 5+ years.
I'm glad this thread turned out to be more involved than Ethan's friend who really is "quite the piece." :)

Occasionally I wonder if I fall into that first category, or will eventually. I'm afraid I might look at pictures in 20 years and realize I wasted a lot of time being self conscious. However, this is an unlikely scenario since we all know about 2012. ;)

I'm still extremely self conscious. Okay, I'm 41(get guessed younger), and most of my friends are in their early 20's. Well, I've got a pool, and I've realized that I tend to only throw pool parties at night. I always find a daytime excuse. But the reality is, I don't feel like I'm being examined and scrutinized, at night. A 500 watt pool light is one thing...full sunlight is another!

Now I thought the question was who you know, not who you've seen in Hollywood, etc..? Anyway, I actually know the most beautiful woman I have even seen in person or o/w, and maybe you've seen her too! She goes by Nico, and not only is she the most beautiful woman on the outside, but she is the most amazing person inside too! Her inner beauty and personality would shine through regardless of her appearance...if she gained 100# or her hair turned gray  I would love her just the same :xoxo: Glad I know you gorgeous girl!

That's such a sweet, heartfelt post! I knew Nico seemed so nice and friendly. It's great to know that she also has a person in her life that thinks so highly of her!

WOW...thanks for the kind words! I'm sure Nico appreciated your comments too. I'd have said even more wonderful things about her, but I was afraid no one would believe me. But what I did say was all true...she's such a wonderful person that she deserves the highest pedestal I can possibly construct  (and no, she's not my wife or even my girlfriend, but I'd give the world to turn this avatar kiss into a real one :xoxo:

Mr. Pierce Brosnan.
I think that he is a very talented actor, and "the kind of guy you'd like to have a beer with."
Oh - The ladies consider him good-looking? Oh, well thank you for pointing that out to me; I hadn't noticed.

There was a girl in high school that had an ethereal beauty, big green eyes, heart shaped face, delicate features, fair skin and dark red hair; she was tall and lean and she truly had a balletic bearing since she was a dancer. I envied her a little.
