Hope everything works out! The whole virus thing is so frustrating- though with my Mac, I haven't had to worry about anything!

Optionally, you could just install OS X (i.e. Mac's operating system) or a Linux distribution like Linux Mint (http://www.linuxmint.com/) on your existing computer. Unless you're a gamer wanting the latest titles, or need very specific Windows-only programs (e.g. Photoshop, iTunes), there's no reason to stay with Windows or buy a new computer - mum's 6yo laptop would fly like an albatross if only she would let me replace her OS! (In fact, you don't even have to replace Windows - you can leave it on and have Mint next to it on the hard drive, and choose between the two when you turn it on.)
The option's always there... :)

Internet Security 2010 I got this virus, almost a year ago, and like to never got rid of it. It took me about 4 days, and without another computer to find instructions, I'd have never gotten it done by myself.

I'd like to personally torture the scum who create these viruses.
