Hi guys,

As you may or may not know, as well as all my love for the 1980s/louielouie2000, my favourtie musical era is LA Laurel Canyon between 1968-76. I just love it and wasrecently set the task of compiling the definitive playlist of the essential albums from this era.$ It's tough! Any fellow fans wanna help me out? I'm also hoping to hear of some that I don't know because I'm always after new stuff! I've gone for just one album per artist...

So for I have:

The Byrds - Mr. Tambourine Man (1965 - when many say the scene "started").
The Mamas and the Papas - If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears (1966 - ditto, see above)
Crosby Stills and Nash - Crosby Stills and Nash (1969)
Neil Young - Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere (1969 - where do you start with Neil?!)
James Taylor - Sweet Baby James (1970)
Joni Mitchell - Blue(1971) (or Court and Spark (1974))
Judee Sill - Judee Sill (1971)
Carole King - Tapestry (1971)
John David Souther - John David Souther (1972)
Jackson Browne - Jackson Browne (1972) (tough to pick just one!)
Carly Simon - No Secrets (1972)
Bonnie Raitt - Takin' My Time (1973)
Little Feat - Dixie Chicken (1973)
Gram Parsons - GP (1973)
Linda Ronstadt - Heart Like A Wheel (1974) (tough to pick just one!)
Warren Zevon - Warren Zevon (1976 - slightly later but steeped in that era, album produced by Jackson Browne)
The Eagles - Hotel California (1976 - where so many say it ended)
Rickie Lee Jones - Rickie Lee Jones (1979 - later but worth inclusion)

I know there are loads more so who has thoughts on this and can make more suggestions? I'll pick them up so I can build my library of this great era...
