Ledgie Appreciation

There was a thread like this years back, but after a few searches, I've given up trying to find and bump it. Basically the idea is to give some kudos to posters whose contributions you usually enjoy, and maybe make someone's day in the process :D

That said, here we go!

Holidayroad- I love that you post a Lindsey Buckingham photo every day. I don't say much in that thread, but it's makes me really happy to know that there's always something new to see.

Butter Cookie- Aside from just personally adoring you, I love that you add some balance to the forum. There aren't enough major Chris fans who post often.

HejiraNYC- We've bickered, but I like that you always pop up in the political threads and add a perspective that I actually think is worth paying attention to :laugh:

Zombie- I almost didn't include you because I'm trying not to be clique-y with this, but you're just so damn brilliant I can't resist. Your posts always make me think. ~You make me better~

I know I'm old school Ledgie here, having taken a three year hiatus, and only returning a short time ago. So, most of my peeps are old school Ledgies, too, from 2003-2007.
Michellebunchofnumbersaftername - great friend, especially in my time of need. We finally got to meet a couple of weeks ago, but it wasn't like a meeting....because as far as I'm concerned, we already knew each other.
Sara1998 - just about the same situation....we met the same day, and Maria feels like a friend I've had my entire life. We just instantly clicked.
David O. - known him forever. He pulled me to the Ledge, back in 2003, from Usenet newsgroups. If he'd just quit talking about Beethoven!

Lessee, I hate these things, because I always forget a couple people, then feel badly about it.

I know I'm old school Ledgie here, having taken a three year hiatus, and only returning a short time ago. So, most of my peeps are old school Ledgies, too, from 2003-2007.
Michellebunchofnumbersaftername - great friend, especially in my time of need. We finally got to meet a couple of weeks ago, but it wasn't like a meeting....because as far as I'm concerned, we already knew each other.
Sara1998 - just about the same situation....we met the same day, and Maria feels like a friend I've had my entire life. We just instantly clicked.
David O. - known him forever. He pulled me to the Ledge, back in 2003, from Usenet newsgroups. If he'd just quit talking about Beethoven!
ChiliD - another longtime Ledgie friend. I'm so jealous of all the Turner owners on here!:mad:

Congrats, Sir-V, also, for how many years of sobriety you surely have a right to boast of that you have a thread about. I'm too lazy to go post there. I'm now 21 days off of legally obtained opiates, after 7+years, but I still take 2 other legally prescribed drugs, so I can't drop in on an NA meeting, though I've always wondered about them. But it's a bad idea! ('Pssst- hey you! Who you kiddin', you got some opiates, I can see it in your eyes!') I wouldn't though, I am so arrest-aphobic.
So, you see, not an NA candidate, here. But congrats to you! I'm glad that getting together and discussing your problems helps keep you and others sober. Me, I'd be checking the room for 'who's got what I want?!' (when what I do want is not to want anything!) I'm serious about getting well, but I can only get through this by being cynical, I guess. Because...
-A few days ago I wrote I 'never want to see an opiate again'. I guess 'never' meant 3 or 4 days. Tonight, I went looking through all my jackets and 'watch-pockets' in all my jeans- as my dad calls that tiny pocket above the thigh pocket- nada.Not even a half of a pill.
I actually just licked the inside of an empty bottle of Percs, for the 'dust' of the pills but there wasn't any. Such a loser. It's a process, I guess! (Not being a loser, using less drugs!) But still, 21 days is a start, and it was my favorite drug. The ones I'm on I don't even like, but they do serve a purpose or two and I don't abuse them.
Seeing my name mentioned by you just now kind of made me smile, so thanks.

Well, some of you guys know that I've been a little down lately. But... I've come to notice that The Ledge has really helped overcome everything I've been through.
I joined this board as a little 14 year old - who watched a movie called the School of Rock. Now, i'm almost 16 - and proud to call myself a Ledgie.

MacShadowBall - I don't think he gets the recognition he deserves with what he's done for the board, specifically the pain staking planning and organisation of the Fleetwood Mac song battle. Anybody else would have thought "Oh fu.ck it" and given up, which just proves his commitment to his cause :)

MissLadyLoki - My first real friend on the site and definitely treasured for being an absolute sweetheart (and fellow Lindie head ;) ). As fragile as a Flower, which only makes me connect to her more in my fellow sensitivity.

Yeah, I'm not popular but never was not even in high school some 20+ yrs ago now. So I wouldn't expect to be on anyone's 'list'. I am thankful for all the great discussions in the past. Even though I don't post alot especially since the (...) issue , which , I mind you NO one told me they didn't like dispite what others have stated. I mostly like everyone on this site. So since I'm not into popularity lists myself I don't want to name any names but other to say thanks for all the great yrs. I hope for more. Even if we agree to disagree about music or anything. Its from discussion that learning comes from as well as understanding. Be greatful for all that you have at this time for no of us knows what tomorrow holds. At this time of Christmas and closer to a 'new' yr. Lets all hope for the best for each one of us. I know I do and hope and pray. My mother just had gallbladder surgery than possibly another medical issue. She seems to be doing better from the surgery (it was just 12/14) but theres been alot of stress this yr (from July on ) and my job has had alot of stress (learning a new EMR --medical records system). Thank God I'm off the next 2 wks, I know I need the down time with all thats happend this yr. So thanks again for helping me 'get away' if even only for a little while. Thanks Thanks to all.
