And we lost Dennis Hopper today. Sigh. I'll be watching Apocalypse Now and Easy Rider tomorrow.

He was a high school buddy of my uncle's (who passed away back in '79)
RIP Dennis...say "Hi" to my Uncle Ron when you meet back up with him.

Don't forget, he was the bad guy in Speed, a fine example of one of those creepy bad guys that know exactly what's going on.
RIP

I dunno what it is, y'all, but seems to me like a lot of famous folk are dying lately. Perhaps it's just what happens as you get older?
I mean, obviously, people get older and die, but that's not what I mean, lol. Just in the last month or so, we've had Pete Steele, Dio, Twisted Sister's ex-drummer, Paul Gray of Slipknot, Coleman, and now Dennis Hopper. That seems like a lot to me.

I noticed that :distress: it puts the fear of god in me.

To me, it only solidifies my belief that the world WILL end in 2012. With the oil spill, and N. Korea threatening total war.....

 I don't think 2012 will happen and if it does I'll be a pissed off ghost for spending 13 years in school for nothing  If it doesn't, I intend to tell my kids that it did and I survived :)

Well, I'm not sure that Gary Coleman karking it = OMG ARMAGEDDON, but I suppose you never know. ;)
I think it's probably just that these are people that were famous when I was young, so they've been around for quite a lot of my life. Makes sense that as I get older, many of those people would start dropping like flies, I think.

Oil spills, wars, etc. unfortunately have been an occurring thing for as long as history , but as for 2012, that is honestly the least of my worries. If every time people came up with various reasons the world was going to end, the world would have blown up about 10 or more times in the past 50 years. Similar rumors happened in the 80's, Y2k, blah blah and yet we are still here. If you really read about the whole 2012 mess, there is more proof that it won't happen than there is proof that it will.
