(Hang on, just checking... yeah, that was part of the humour of this poll. I'm also telling myself that I should've added an option saying "Weren't there other men in Fleetwood Mac?", but, alas, it didn't occur to me until it was too late. "Oh Well".)

 These polls are so funny, seriously. I did vote for John though, I'd not consider getting anyone else's bass line tattooed on myself.

Yeah I guessed that! Long Grey Mare is the Fleetwood Mac track with Bob Brunning on rather than Mr McVie...

Not that there would be much of a bass line to tattoo on yourself from that song...

Ahh, now I see. I'm still only just starting to get to grips with the pre-Rumours stuff and who did what where. Having had that line up be the only one I've related to all my life, I'm going slowly but surely through the rest

(Damn it! I knew I should've done a beta release of this poll so that early adopters could point out little things I could've changed for the final release of the poll! How could I not call him Liddy B? :distress:)

Seriously?!?!?!?! No Peter??? Jeremy??? Danny??? Bob Welch?? Billy Burnette?? Rick Vito??? MICK FLEETWOOD??????????

How can such a poll be taken seriously when it leaves out so many of the names that have made the band great, including 3 of its founding members???!!!

My votes, in order: Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Jeremy Spencer, Danny Kirwan, Rick Vito, Billy Burnette, Lindsey Buckingham, Bob Welch.

Oh, God yes, post #3.

Well, now that we've got Ledgies thinking it isn't, I'm now officially making this a serious poll. My apologies for any inconveniences caused to Ledgies who initially realised the joke and voted in accordance. :sorry:

I agree!!!! I don't think the ledge has seen this many invalid polls in ages. Heck, 2 GIRLS even made it into the Men of Mac poll!!! Why are Bekka & Lindsey included?

back in the day I would have instantly said Lindsay but I have to admit, with a second look John was pretty hot back in the day - I mean really they both had packages that came straight from Santa :)

Well, even if someone wanted to make a perfect poll about the 'Men of Mac', you can't. There are 13 choices and the poll has a limit of 10!!!!

It's funny that Dave Mason has so much independent recognition and work (before and after Mac), yet even in a serious poll he would probably not get that many more votes than Brunning.

I didn't know who he was, but I became aware of his name before I heard of FM, because I had a Jackson 5 album from like 1972 with Feelin' Alright on it and I was reading the liner notes. It actually had him down with them as writers, but they often would list the performer as a co-writer in those days.

In the absence of Bob Welch, my vote goes to Harold.

I had to go with Lindsey in this one. He has the edge of being both a musical genius and hot.

I like Dave Mason's older solo work (before FM). It isn't that I dislike him, I just didn't like his work with FM as much as songs I had already heard from him.

Dont' forget though that while Brunning doesn't have the recognition he certainly has a similar level of output to Mason. He's got about 12 albums to his name even without counting the Tramp albums...a similar number to Billy Burnette. At a quick flick through my iTunes show I have about 19 Mason albums, but if you take out the live/rehashed albums it drops to about the same as Brunning and Burnette.

EDIT

Oh and if you take facebook as a quick poll (and you probably shouldn't) about the relative popularity of Mr Mason vs Mr Brunning - the Dave Mason official page has 10581 fans, the only Brunning related group is mine, which has a grand total of 6 members - including myself, wetcamelfood and chiliD off of here!

Now would be a great time for anyone who has it to post the promo-ad for the '75 Fleetwood Mac album that has a photo of the band, and under Lindsey's picture, he is identified as 'Stevie Nicks'
Pretty sure it was a full page ad in Rolling Stone.

I saw that too. And Stevie was marked as "Lindsey Buckingham". All I can say is that it's the perfect example of when you assume, you make an ass out of you and me.
