Jumping right on the poll badwagon now. Seeing as art and album sleeves are something close to my heart, which does everyone prefer? I have all my albums on vinyl so I can get the pictures as big as possible.

I chose Tango in the Night because I love that it's a painting and I also love Rousseau :D

I didn't include Behind the Mask or Say You Will because without Lindsey and Chris, they're not Rumours-era ;)

Out of those, Rumours, but I really like The Dance, and Live is interesting as well.

Oh poo. I had meant to put The Dance on here :sorry: Live just aggravates me because it looks like someone pushed the photographer over as he pressed the shutter release

The Dance would have been my #1, but Mirage is my second :)

It's a no-brainer for me- Tusk for the win. If you include all of the artwork, including the double inner sleeves, it's perhaps the most opulent, ornate album packaging ever. I love Peter Beard's work, especially his photographs of Africa. But he takes it to another level with the surreal collages and cryptic writing. And the icing on the cake is the gorgeous group photos. The only thing that could have improved the package would have been a lyric sheet.

I love this photo from inside Tusk. Mainly because, when I've been out for the night, I come home and play it. When I pick up the sleeve, Christine and John look like bats and it's highly amusing

And, the 1980 Live album is conspicuously absent, as well.

I chose the 1975 self-titled album....John (or the "mini-John" at least) made the front cover of an album, FINALLY.

But, since nobody asked, my favorite Fleetwood Mac cover of ALL-TIME is Time. With Bare Trees a close second, followed in close order by: Kiln House, Then Play On, then Mystery To Me

I had intended to put The Dance on, like I said. The Live album didn't cross my mind, because like I said, I pushed it to the back of there. It completely baffles me how somone can be so happy with something so... blurred. It's not even conceptual (and I am a photographer). I could argue, however, that I've only chosen to include studio albums

I have John on quite a few of my custom made bootleg album artwork :)

That poll would have been in pre-Rumours ;) My all time favourite is Kiln House, but this isn't the right forum.

I LOVE the cover of Mirage, though it always confused me when i got into FM, it thought it was tango in the night, because stevie and lindsey look like their dancing, and tango in the nights cover looks like a mirage.

Anywho...Mirage is grossly underrated among FM fans, i might like it better than even rumours!

I nod to the McVies with Bare Trees and Kiln House appreciation.

I love the Mirage cover, but I'd open the front and back to make it one long poster, with all five of them.

They all look pretty darn tasty, if I may say so.

I adore the Mirage cover! It's sooo cool. How everyone is connected in some way - it doesn't leave out any members (if you consider the back) and the color scheme is AMAZING! Definitely my favorite!

Between Mirage and Rumours for me, although I'd have to go with Rumours, it's just such an iconic image.

Mirage is a very close second, but if I stare at it for too long, I notice things I don't like about it. Stevie's neck is something I find fascinating, but awful at the same time.

Also, the thing they do with their hands, freaks me out. First time I realised it, I jumped :o

I love the cover of Rumours. I tell people that picture of Mick and Stevie changed my life. I spent many years secretly trying to re-create it in normal pics with friends and family.

Here's another example of Rumours fun:

Gasp!!! I'd never vote in an invalid poll! The "neither" option is also missing! And why can't I vote for Bekka in this poll?

I do! Mirage may even be my favorite FM album ever, and I'm not even too sure why. Could be that for me, it is a mini-Tusk: 3 solo members playing all together. But each song, minus the one that no one dares speak it's name (), is amazing for me.

Although Rumours is iconic, I'm not big on the the color . . . but Tusk is so textured and that dog picture is so sublime.

Anyone notice (or will ADMIT to it) that for as "artsy" as both Stevie & Lindsey CLAIM to be, the covers of Fleetwood Mac albums they were on are so incredibly bland compared to those of album covers prior to their arrival??

I'll admit to it. I love Bare Trees and Mystery to Me. As for Kiln House aah where do I start? I love it so much, seriously it's cute, fun and... just, my god, Christine, is there seriously anything you can't do?

Future Games is an underrated cover. Glad to see it getting props.

Chili is right on about Time and Bare Trees arguably being the best (I still go with Tusk overall even); plus I have to say, the Behind the Mask cover AND the Say You Will cover are brilliant. Plus the iconic Rumours. I wish I could get into the Mirage cover, but I just can't.

Sure - who wouldn't admit that? :) (Well, die-hards technically, I guess.)
My favourite front covers overall would be from Kiln House, Bare Trees, Fleetwood Mac (1975), Tango In The Night, and The Dance. My favourite back cover would be from Behind The Mask, believe it or not. :)

Well I am also picking Mirage even though I do like Rumours also. I also like Tusk but not the dog on the front. Now if it had been one of the many many outtakes -group shots that is & theres many it might have been a better LP cover. I do like Mirage alot but again many many outtakes that I think are better than what was chosen for the LP cover. Live would be nice if only the cover pic wasn't blurred and it was the front of them not there backs. I guess I'm just not into that type of 'art' for an LP cover. I think it detracks from what should be something to promote the band....though I guess everyone 'knew' all about Fmac than because of Rumours but still (but than yet the Eagles hardly ever had there photos on any cover of there LP's either (except for Desperado/alot of back covers though)....I mean Hotel California is just as iconic as the Rumours cover....but I do hate The Long Run cover...all black & boring.....my least favorite of all of them really).....anyway, sorry to get off track.......either way its all good......no mattter what you like or don't.....its still all good.......:D

Love the white album cover. It's classic. But overall, the artwork on Tusk is intriguing and varied--like the music itself.

Yeah, I know what you mean! I think that "design choice" was less a result of art aesthetics and more related to the low budget WB spent on Mac albums in those early years...

Don't ask why, but I had to go with Tango in the Night. I like it when an album cover reflects the music inside (for example, the cover of the Metallica album Ride the Lightning reflects the dark, almost electrifying sound of the music), and I feel Tango's cover reflects a slick, synth sound that kinda feels like it should be heard around sunset and twilight (funny as it may sound, certain songs and albums I feel are meant to be heard at certain times of day, like how Dark Side of the Moon is an album meant to be heard at night). Also, I just always dug the pic on the front.

Anyways, all the other album covers are great too, even tough I think Rumours could have been made better if it had Stevie telling Mick secrets, like the penguins in my sig.

the Mirage Cover would be nicer if Stevie's neck was not so WRONG. I know that somewhere someone said that was not her original pose and the artist painted her head on at that angle to make it look more dramatic. SOmeone else used to say on here Steve said something about that she didnt want to do that because in a previous life she was beheaded or died from her head getting cut off. If you look at it enough you can see that there is NO friggen way her neck is that long. If it were Stevie's neck would be about twice its normal length. Also, there is no way her vertebrae can make that angle without snapping her spinal chord. And what is the deal with her having a huge adams apple? Steve is a man, not a drag queen!

I've always been drawn to album covers that do not have the band in them. I like concepts. This leaves me with a tough choice, Tusk or Tango In The Night.

Tusk is a very aggressive and odd cover, it's awesome...but I never thought it completely fit the mood of the album. Tango In The Night, with the jungle, thump drumming and the mystery of it all is rather cool. SI guess if I had to pick one, it would be Tango In The Night. I always thought of each band member as something in that Rousseau homage painting cover. But I'm not telling.
