I’m inspired to start this thread because I’ve been thinking about time a lot lately and how different my life would have been had I made different choices. That being said, if you could pick any one Stevie/FM show to have attended over the last 35 years what show would it be? It doesn’t necessarily have to be a specific show, it can be a year or tour too. The catch is you would be the same age you are now and have all of the knowledge about Stevie that you’ve gained over the years (as opposed to how old you would have been had you been there for real). I’m going to save my answer for later…

“Time cast a spell on you but you won’t forget me”

Edit: How could I even consider any other show? RED ROCKS 86' BABY! No questions asked.

Dallas in December 1981, the second Bella Donna concert.

My first time to see Stevie was Halloween 1982, the last show of the Mirage tour (the final time Stevie's performed "Sisters of The Moon"). And I've seen all the other tours since.

So, I'd want to see "Blue Lamp" and "Think About It" and "Angel" and "Gold and Braid" and "Rhiannon" and ALL THE REST!!!!

without a doubt a RAL show. I just saw the Red Rocks video for the first time, and it was AMAZING! the vocals, stage presence, everything. Beauty and the Beast and HAEWAFY drove me to tears - i was like a little baby.

i guess my second choice would be the TUSK Tour. I mean, by that time they were easily one of the most successful bands EVER and all the screaming I've heard from the Tusk live videos??? ZOMG it was like a Beatles concert! The atmosphere would have been amazing, just the feeling of..."you're seeing Fleetwood Mac......"

i hope this made even a little sense

If I had a time machine, and if we're solely talking about Stevie solo shows, I'd go see something from the Rock A Little tour. A time machine would be necessary though, as I was 4 years old in '86 .

I still kick myself for going to see the Time tour in '94 instead of seeing Stevie's Street Angel tour . I'd actually LOVE to go back and see a Street Angel show too.

Mac wise, I'd have to go see one of the LA Forum shows from '82, no doubt! :]

This WAS the first time I ever saw Stevie or the Mac - it was Sunday night of Thanksgiving weekend in 1981 in Dallas. I was 15 and a sophomore in high school at the time. I had no idea how special the show would become to me over time and I can't believe I am still as obsessed with her almost 3o years later! LOL

I was 16 and a Junior in High School!!!!

That Sunday night I was at a dance in Central Texas, and some people were wearing these T-shirts with doves on them and I KNEW it was Stevie!!!! Yep! They went to opening Night in Houston the night before! I was crushed to know I had just missed Stevie's first solo tour.

And I had just become obsessed with Stevie's music earlier that November........

It was a great show! And John Stewart opened. I have to admit, I didn't know Gold & Braid or Blue Lamp at the time, and I said to myself "What the hell is she singing?" But I was pretty obsessed by the time this show rolled around.

If I had to pick a show to see, I suppose it would be Miami on the Tusk tour. I had just gotten into them at the time, I remember the tour coming to town (I was in FL then), but I was only 13 then and getting mom and dad to agree to let me go to a show would have been hard. That show was the first one I was aware of that I wished I had been able to go to. That, or I would have liked to see them in Tampa with the Eagles on the American bicentennial July 4, 1976. That would have been memorable, I'm sure! I remember I was in Tampa not long after then and Led Zeppelin was doing a show there and it was a BIG deal. I was born about 5 years too late...

Oh well, I can't really complain. I've seen every Stevie/Mac tour since 81 so I am pretty fortunate.

I've lived in Dallas for 18 years, so I would like to see this show I barely missed. The audio I've heard of it sounds better than the Houston show.

Plus, going back in time with all my Stevie knowledge, I'd be singing "Gold and Braid" and NO ONE else would know the song!!!!! ;)

This is tough, because I want to see all of the tours for totally different reasons.

For a Fleetwood Mac show, I'd have to go with either an early Tusk show or one of the LA forum shows in '82... Really, it would be Mirage hands down if it wasn't for Tusk era "Rhiannon".

For Stevie, I'd say the Wild Heart tour, easy.

If you had been at the real Red Rocks show, you probably would have asked for your money back. Have you heard the original bootleg?

I would've gone to a Tusk show for sure. Specifically the St. Louis one filmed for the documentary. But I would kill to see a white album/Rumours era show just for the Rhiannon's. Seeing them in 1975 would be interesting, with the knowledge of just how big they were going to get (literally, for some. :p )

For solo Stevie, I would like to be dropped by that time machine into the front row of a Wild Heart show.

For the Mac, definitely one of the two Forum shows in 82.'

Lindsey...A date on the tusk tour. Probably the NZ show.

Christine...Any Behind the Mask show....she was brilliant on this tour. Would have loved to see Save Me live.

yes i have, actually.....not the best, unfortunately. I think i would've loved to see RR because of the doves, the atmosphere, etc. Vocally, i would want to see Wild Heart. The Landover video is one of my favorites.

Wow...this is hard. I'll stick to just FM for now. Ideally, I'd like to have a time machine so I could create my own show by combining different acts from different shows...Angel from Tusk, SOTM from Mirage, Silver Springs from The Dance, Beautiful Child from SYW, etc.

But...you asked for one, so I'll jump on board the Mirage - Forum show bandwagon, because I can't even imagine what seeing FM in that era, at the height of all the excess, would have been like.

$11.50. That just depresses me.

It's been a LONG time since I listened to this, but if I rememeber correctly, Beauty and the Beast wasn't really overdubbed much. It sounds relatively the same in the original and released versions. And imo BATB is the highlight of Red Rocks. The original definitely wasn't Stevie's finest moment but there were still some really good parts that made it into the released version (Outside the Rain, one more link in the chain part, No Spoken Word, and scary edge wail).

Even knowing what I know now about Stevie's performance and state, I still think I would walk away from that show satisfied. BATB would have been worth my money alone.

God this show is just heartbreaking. Gypsy really gets me. And at the end of Leather of Lace (I think), when Stevie talks about actually smiling. When ever I think of the Mirage tour and the incredible performances Stevie gave, I think of the strength she had to have possessed to get through such a sad time in front of thousands of people the way she did.

I'd see a tour from 1975, when it was still early days. Then a show when Rumours was at its crazy height. I'd also see more Dance shows, because I didn't know that Christine was leaving. In fact, I thought they'd probably go into the studio and record more new music and then tour again. So, I didn't hoard those shows like I would have if I'd known what I know now.

Since I can only choose one, I would choose an "Enchanted" tour show, because of the set list. We got to see many songs that were completely unexpected. I was at the opening night in Hartford, so no one knew yet what was going to be played. Even now that I know, I would still choose Enchanted, because the set list covered songs from so many different parts of her career. I remember I was particularly shocked and happy to hear "Enchanted", "Gold And Braid", "Twisted", "After The Glitter Fades", "Garbo, "Rose Garden, and "Sleeping Angel".

I would love to go back to '83 for a WH concert. Not so much for the songs but for the atmosphere. The early 80's were such a great time to be a Stevie fan. She was young (and seemed much younger than she was) and full of excitement. She was part of the coolest band in the world and now a big time solo artist. She was the queen of rock & roll and she was loving every minute of it. Plus she was a babe. A sexy, hot "girl" that me and all my buddies were madly in love with.....well, except for Lewis who still carried a jones for Linda Ronstadt. Oh yeah, I would love to go back just to be in the crowd and feel that excitement again.

I wish I had been a Stevie fan in the 80's. I mean first of all I was really young and then there was that other woman, what's her name again...oh Madonna, who just overall appealed to me and my little girlfriends at the time. I definitely knew of Stevie/FM's tunes but don't think I was mature enough to understand the magnitude and significance of the music and really comprehend what Stevie was all about.

I get really sad sometimes thinking about all of the Stevie stuff I experienced that is now lost in my mind but in a way it's kind of co0l b/c I get to experience some of those things as if it were the first time and we all know how great that feels!
