I'm down in Philly right now, and my sister was flipping through the radio and she said that a Stevie song was on, so I excpected to hear edge or stand back,
but it was rooms on fire.
I didnt think anyone other than stevie fans knew that song :p

Rooms On Fire was one of her bigger solo hits actually - especially in the UK where it gave her her biggest solo UK hit - #16.

I didn't think so, either; they only played it on the radio in Connecticut for maybe three weeks at the most, beginning just before the album came out, and then it disappeared.

"Rooms On Fire" peaked on Billboards top 20 pop charts at #16 in the U.S., and I believe on the Billboard rock singles chart it charted in the top ten. OSOTM on the other hand shot to the Top Ten Album Charts in about 4 weeks after it's release, peaking at #8 but then dropping quickly out of sight.
I do agree that despite it's top twenty status in the US, I don't remember hearing it on the radio very often, but they did play the video a lot on MTV & VH1 at the time. I do remember the primary rock station KBPI here in Denver playing "Long Way To Go" when OSOTM was just released for a couple of months.

Whatchu talkin' bout' Willis? It was a huge hit on the radio.
On another note I have my iPod on random and Rooms live from TOSOTM tour came on this morning. I just cannot decide if I like the album version or the live version better. Normally I have a preference but not with Rooms. The intro and outro are gorgeous and I like the words that she changes. This has always been a top 5 for me.
"long nets of white cloud my memory" lol subtle.
I have the 12 inch single with the scariest picture on the cover you ever saw.

I always thought the lyric was "long clouds of white cloud my memory" up until a few years ago even though it makes no sense lol.

OMG! I just remembered something!
When ROF came out before the album, just before the DJ played the song, he said something like "you should see the jacket this came in... it's a picture of Stevie Nicks, but it looks like it should read "Hi! I'm Stevie Nicks, and these are my boobs."
