These are a hoot:
1) Her 1987 quote about refusing to dress up as a ‘hot dog’ or a ‘box of Kleenex’ for Halloween.
2) “You f-cked with my people! I’m gonna get really f-ckin’ angry!!!
(Stevie yelling at the security guards for roughing up the crowd at a 1989 show).
3) “If I didn’t know she was a mythological character, I would think maybe she lived down the street.”
(Stevie talking about Rhiannon, ‘Rolling Stone Magazine’, Feb. 7, 1980).

I love her response to Lindsay Lohan potentially playing her in a bio-pic:
“Over my dead body...she needs to stop doing drugs and get a grip. Then maybe we’ll talk." Also about Lindsay: “She's been saying that for years. I have nothing against her but I'm still living and working. You know I'm not dead yet.”
You tell her girlfriend! I'd play you better anyway .
My very favorite is when she said "When pigs fly!" but I can't for the life of me find what this was in response to. I must have it on audio b/c I can hear her saying it in my head. Anybody know?

I have a special fondness for # 2 because this happened in my home town, and I was there in the front of the stage rush and was one of the people she was trying to protect. Before she said that, multiple security guards at the same time had pushed the whole line of people in the front and we all fell backwards, knocking over the people behind us.

I was there too, in the 9th row, but everybody was so much taller than me that I couldn't see what was happening. But I sure did hear Stevie when she swore at security.

LOL, only joking. Why are you relieved? That would be horrible if he said that every night on stage! But most people might not notice as he goes on and on and on blah blah blah. Actually I don't even think he talked before BL on the Unleashed tour. He talked a lot before that song on the GOS tour. Hmm.
Anyway, I've heard the quote before. I forget where/when. Sometime during the rumours break up?

Oh, there was some wild one 'See this tambourine, it won't feel nice wrapped around your neck' and 'see these boots' but I don't remember where she said she'd assault with her boots. Those were pretty out there, but I think she meant them with love. The question was about whether she ever felt vulnerable - for her safety- at concerts. Anyone have the exact quotes? Maybe she should've said "See those bodyguards stage right? They have guns!"

There is a relatively newer live recording of Gypsy, and after the performance, at the very end, Stevie says

" 'Take me home.' What the heck does that mean?"
"I need a little sympathy. I NEED a little sympathy. I need MORE sympathy ... I need a LOT of sympathy."
"Atlanta's not burning, but the relationship is somehow burning down, and I'm back on the treadmill, trying to lose a little weight!"
Had to abridge the "sympathy" one because there's random in the middle.

"first of all, I think they're know I'm a whole lot tougher than I look..and the platform boots I'm wearing would not be comfortable in their face. And the tambourine I'm usually carrying would not be comfortable around their neck". I'm typing from memory so it may not be exactly what she said but it's pretty darn close. I love this interview! She's so funny and very "alert" for being right in the middle of the klonopin years.

And it was also funny on DR when she couldn't hear bass and she said it sounded like John fell off of the stage.

Otherwise, just wrong things said at the wrong time. Like, "Oh, you gained a little weight around the chin." You know, right before a photo session. Some people have incredible tact and an intuitive feel for your feelings. Others don't. Some people can wake me up in the morning-they know how. Others, if I had a BB gun, they'd be on the wall.

I wish she still had this point of view.
Me too. This is why I love the Jim Ladd interview from '79 so much. My favorite part is when she talks about meeting the fan in Ann Arbor.
Some of you have already mentioned some of my favorites but I didn't see this one yet:
"When I say, 'Wild in the darkest places of your mind/That's where I needed you', I mean the things that you think about in the wildest places of your mind, that you don't ever tell anybody about. Uh, only the children lie hopelessly enchanted. That's how we are. Hopelessly enchanted. Wild in the darkest places of your mind/Don't blame it on me/Blame it on my wild heart. Yeah, that's those places that many people don't even have. But you see, my audience has it."
- Jim Ladd Innerview, 1983
I like this one too:
"I think that people are gonna love 'Wild Heart'...it's the one song that I go back to time and time again and listen to. There's something about the vocal that just gives me shivers, because it's just so real. People will understand that probably more than a lot of other things, because it definitely takes you through your nervous breakdown, and through your recovery and it takes you through your survival.
And everybody's heart is wild, so it's not like I've got any kind of hold on it, 'cause this entire album was written for everybody, and their wild heart. This was very much meant to be shared and given to people, to have them just love the idea that they have wild hearts, 'cause I love that."
- The Wild Heart Press Kit, 1983

From an old radio interview on Nicksfix - an audio file - I think this is still there but I'm not sure - I don't currently have the software to listen to it so I don't know if it's still "up and running" or not - - I thought the way she phrased things was very interesting -
(I'm paraphrasing, by the way)
Interviewer: "There's a DARKNESS to your songwriting."
Stevie: "There IS, yeah."
Interviewer: "It's almost a SADNESS."
Stevie: "Yeah."
Interv.: "Does the SONGWRITING help the sadness, or does the SADNESS help the SONGWRITING?"
Stevie: "I think the SONGWRITING helps the SADNESS until the next sadness comes ALONG. But
I don't think I'm really all that sad of a person; I mean, *I* don't think . . . . . I am."

Waaaait a minute, wasn't that YEARS ago?
Is Lindsey recycling now???....
Lindsey, recycling the same old phrases over and over again? It'd never happen.
It'd destroy his faith in cycles, making a solo album would no longer be like painting a picture, making a group album would no longer be like making a movie, he and Stevie would no longer be a package deal...
I really hope this one is real: "My songs don't get recorded unless I know they're really going to be good and I'm really going to like them ... so ... but they are, you know, ultimately, slightly looney." -Stevie Nicks

 Thinking of SHN and Time Bomb Town, it seems like going down is a theme in Lindsey's songs -- and I mean that in the cleanest way possible.

Lindsey's songs are always clean...
Slow dancing ... very romantic. it's about 2 people dancing in the moonlight
Come ... do my laundry woman! Mama's meeting him at the laundromat by the Docklands
Loving Cup ... he's making Mama some coffee in her fave mug

Thank you for this!! I hope you're not joking, because, other people seem to think I'm crazy for liking this...lol!!
I also LOVE : "I'm not a witch-get a life!"
and...
on one of her demos she says "I'm 33 yrs. old, I have to grow up sometime, but not now!"
I love what she says before the witch one: "I have a lot of more important things to worry about besides people thinking I'm a witch. You know, all you have to do is come by my house, drop in... theres no like owls up there you know!"

Open your mouth and I'll put out the fire. Can't get much cleaner than that.
For quotes, I liked when Stevie said that she needed space away from Tusk before she could appreciate it, because during the 13 months they were recording it was just one big rumpled ball of tuskness.
