Hi, just Googled it and got part of my own question answered, so I'll reword this- In the Buckingham Nicks (gatefold) inside liner notes, Jimmy Wachtel is listed under Album Design and Photography. Lorrie Sullivan is also listed as photographer.
Yet, Waddy Wachtel is only listed in the credits as 'Waddy' and not Waddy Wachtel, so I originally wondered if Jimmy was Waddy's real name, but it's not, it's Robert, which most of you probably know. Kind of odd that Waddy didn't use his last name back in 1973, or was it because 3 Wachtel credits on one Stevie-Lindsey album would be one too many?? (Jimmy Wachtel is listed twice)
So, I think this Jimmy Wachtel is Waddy's (Robert's) brother. I may need to re-edit, I only got as far as Jimmy isn't Waddy and wanted to ask here on The Ledge because I don't recall any talk of Waddy not using his last name professionally, and of Jimmy Wachtel being in the equasion of Stevie's career, but obviously, he was.
So, was it this Jimmy Wachtel who made Stevie take off her blouse for the album cover, or the other photographer credited, Lorrie Sullivan?
I don't seem to recall either of them working as a photographer for Stevie again....

If you look close, you'll also see a couple of Elvis' musicians on there.

This reminds me of something I meant to post 2 weeks ago, when I'd just finished reading 'Rough Mix' by Jimmy Bowen, who was a major producer and record-label president, he was behind tons of majorly huge careers- those who know will know what I'm talking about, others can google Bowen--- well, anyway, he mentions that in 1974 he was in the process of signing 'folk singer-songwriter Stevie Nicks' As A SOLO ARTIST, 'the year before she had released the Buckingham Nicks album with her at the time boyfriend but it didn't do anything and I was going after her for a solo contract. They both went on to have huge musical careers in Fleetwood Mac before their eventual breakup'. (paraphrasing, but darn close)--
He wanted Stevie as a solo act, he was President of Polydor at the time, but the overseas office put a freeze on him signing any new acts.
I should have written this when it was all just read and fresh, but there were no other details. I just was surprised to read that Bowen (who was behind major hits by Sinatra and Dean Martin in 1965 at the height of Beatlemania and later went on to sign Garth and Reba when he changed musical genres and labels) wanted Stevie Nicks as a solo act.
I don't think he has any reason to lie, his book is pretty much warts and all, including his own. But, if it is true that Lindsey knew a major record man was after Stevie to be signed as a solo act, though it fell through, it may explain why he was so loyal to Stevie when he told Mick that he and Stevie were a package deal. Maybe LB knew other industry players thought Stevie had solo potential all along, which I find very interesting.
Nice they stuck together.
