View Full Version : Stevie and Sharon Lovers?

I heard a rumor years ago that Stevie and Sharon Celani were at one time lovers. Although I do not believe it I suppose that anything is possible. We all know how much Stevie loves men but do you think she has ever "crossed over" to the other side?

Who knows

I would imagine, though, that pretty much anything can happen when your blitzed out of your mind on cocaine. If it were true, that's really the only circumstance under which I could see anything happening between the two of them.

This has been speculated about much over the years, though it's been a very long time since anybody's brought it up. Sharon did live with Stevie for a while in the '90s (maybe some in the '80s too?). I believe Sharon is married now though, right? Not that it would exclude the possibility. Who knows. Maybe Stevie will set the record one of these days with this promised book ;).

this reminds me of when Trouble In ShangriLa first came out...i was on break at work, reading thru the cd booklet and a friend of mine sat down next to me, scooped up the cd case, flipped it over and asked, as serious as can be... "so which one is her girlfriend?" i told her "shes not a lesbian"...she goes "oh i thought she was" lol.
i know Stevie has said (in an interview once) she is not a lesbian. but as much coke that was goin around i wouldnt be surprised if she had had been with a woman or women.
hell...as much coke that was goin round i wouldnt be surprised to hear that Stevie was once seen taking a **** on her back lawn while wearing a bunny costume!!!haha

LOL! She's definitely not a lesbian but I would not be surprised if she had a menage a trois or two in her day. My question is has she ever been "in love" with a woman which we will probably never know.

honestly this topic doesn't interest me all that much, but i do love the idea that if she did sleep with sharon, it's because cockaine (typo but it stays) is one hell of a drug. please. considering that stevie was a slut, considering how many "straight" women sleep with other women all the time while sober, and considering that female sexuality is, like, totally fluid y'all, i call bull**** (though i yawn while doing so).

also i call bull**** on the basis of personal experience. not with stevie, but with other lame "straight" women.

Stephanie Nicks? A lesbian? The idea of that does not fempute.

While I've heard of (and experienced) the ahem...fluidity of hetero/bi/tri/slutsexual relations, I don't know if the ol' girl could get down like that. I think she's too swept up in the Scarlett O'Hara thing of classical hetero romance to even entertain the notion.

That having been said, if a tape ever surfaces I'd sell siblings to see it.

Obviously you've had negative experiences with "lame" straight women which allows you to be oh so objective when it comes to this topic. But really, thank you so much for sharing your keen insight into the nature of female sexuality with us and for clarifying that your personal experience was not with Stevie (as we would have all assumed it was ).

does a discussion of whether or not stevie slept with women really require objectivity and academic distance? i mean, really.

but you're welcome for the clarification, i would hate to think some confused soul out there (i'm talking to you, diane) would think i slept with stevie.

I remember as a kid, around 1982 or so, other kids saying "Stevie Nicks lezzes her girlfriends" and I was mystified at such a thing. So when Stevie would appear on 'Solid Gold' and Lori would saunter over to Stevie's microphone to sing 'Nightbird' cheek to cheek. Then we'd see music videos with the girls always present, and let's not forget the boudoir photos in the jackets of the Bella Donna and The Wild Heart albums. It seemed plausible.
I had heard that Sharon was gay, so I am surprised to hear she is actually married. In fact, what someone told me was the SA tour was a big old gay fest, including Carlos Rios (not sure if that is true either..)

Let me just say this, Sharon is not gay.
I know this sort of subject is titillating but really . . . would someone's sexual preference change your opinion of them as an artist or someone you respect and admire?
And a woman can be madly and obsessively in love w another woman but not take it to the sexual level. And then I guess the next question is, what is considered the sexual level? I think that's a pretty foggy area.
Affection and love do not necessarily equate to sex and even so . . .

Lori is not gay, sure.
Sharon… Is she really human?
Stevie is the one who invented the term “drag queen”.

My question was never whether or not Sharon or Stevie is gay but rather if they had some level of intimacy that translated sexually. And what determines whether or not someone takes it to the next level? There are a million factors that could determine that including biology, environment, brain chemistry, notions of right and wrong, etc. You are right in that affection and love do not equate sex but a) things can change when you're high b) often times people confuse the two. Thank you for your post! I like it.

There's another story that involved a couple more ladies with Stevie, Lori, and Sharon. The Wild Heart tour certainly lived up to it's title. Very wild. Very rock & roll. Like I once heard, there were more naked women walking around backstage than you'd find at the Playboy mansion.

Come on . . . none of this is true! NONE OF IT! Once and for all, none of it. No naked ladies backstage. No make-out parties in the hotel room. No bell boys walking in on any girl-on-girl orgies. Cause I worked in radio for a few years and I heard quite a few stories about Stevie from pretty reliable people who would know. I'm not the only one. I'm certain there are a few long timers here who have also heard some shocking stuff that they would never post either. I am very sure.
I know people in radio, the MI and the media as well.
Having worked in radio you should know of all the crazy (often unsubstainable) stories that circulate about artists and members of their entourage. Esp. back in the day ~ You are totally right, there are plenty of other stories that have (fortunatley) not made it into circulation but it doesn't mean they're ALL true. Once again, as you should know, people say ALOT of things that aren't true or that are fragments of what might be true. Like the Telephone Game ~ something starts out one way and ends up a totally different story. Scandalous gossip involving sex tunes people in. I'm not saying the people of "reliable sources" in radio you know made this stuff up, but I'm sure they didn't dispel anything either. That's just the way it is.
Sure, there are wild stories that are indeed true, but this is not one of them, and really, who cares?

Hmm - I've always been curious about that myself I have to admit.

I suspect she will eventually release one book that reveals most stuff, esp. regarding her relationships with men...but she'll also pen another book and give the manuscript to someone for safekeeping, perhaps her neice Jessica, that reveals ALL...and tell Jessica to publish it after her (Stevie's) death.

Speaking from many past experiences, Coke doesn't make you inclined to take a **** in the back lawn (alcohol does that!). And no matter how many lines you may snort, it doesn't turn you bi-sexual, even for a moment (though alcohol might). Coke just makes you wired.

We can't say for sure what combination of chemicals she was on at any given time...and different drugs effective people differently depending on your brain/body chemistry. For example, coke could make one person wired and another tired. It may also cause one to lose their inhibitions which doesn't necessarily "turn you bi-sexual" but you may be more open to experimentation. Just sayin'.

Yes it can, especially after doing too much. Why do you think they give people with ADHD adderall? That's basically legal speed (a stimulant) but it has the opposite effect and allows them to focus more and not be as hyper.

What's interesting is that this is a topic that ALWAYS comes up within my circle of lesbian "chiffon-heads" as well as other lesbian Stevie fans I have met in my tour travels back in the day. In fact, this topic ONLY comes up within those circles. I think it's just wishful thinking on their part. Call it "Stevie fan fiction". Every time we would watch the Red Rocks video, my lesbian friends would always replay the scene during "Edge Of 17" when Sharon walks over to Stevie's mic to sing. They would say, "Look at how they're looking at each other! There's your proof!" They also would read too much into the scene where Stevie makes Sharon "wait" for the hand slap at the beginning of the song.

I personally couldn't care less if they hooked up or not. If they did, then cool. If they didn't, then cool. I suppose it's not anyone's business but theirs.

I don't think Stevie's bisexual. A lot of straight women have dabbled because they are more sexually fluid and secure with themselves than straight men, in my opinion.

I had a friend many years ago who was a lesbian and absolutely loved the photos of Stevie and Christine in the Tango tour book because they were standing really close and touching each other. I don't think it was because it made them look like they were lesbians but that they were showing an obvious affection for each other. It was really sweet.

The way Stevie and Sharon look at each other (watch videos of them performing Nightbird together, for instance!) confirms something for me.

I have always thought Sharon was in love with Stevie. Whether it is reciprocated... Who can tell?

I am usually good at knowing with women and I don't get that feeling with Stevie but there have been rumors about it.

Part of it I think is that she is naturally affectionate with nearly everyone. Last October in concert it was quite cute because she was cuddling with Christine. She seemed so happy to have a female friend with her again. But making her an item with Chris let's not go there haha that's too many triangles to process

She did have a circle of close female friends back then though. Almost like a club. So does Taylor Swift nowadays and I have to admit I wonder about her. Despite all the famous high profile men she has dated and songs about them. Many think it's all a cover.

Nowadays though you have to be careful what you do. You can be sued for harassment and have people talk about you.
