My Music

[Peestie]

I didn't see a thread for people posting their own music in so I decided to start one here. Sorry if their already is one.

I've posted an album I've been working on over the winter at http://peestie.bandcamp.com for free download so I was wondering if people here could give a bit of feedback on it. The main influences are whispery folk artists like Iron&Wine, Bon Iver, Elliott Smith and UTS era Lindsey so I'm not exactly sure how much it will fit with the taste of people here, but it can't hurt to share it! It was all engineered and mixed in my bedroom so I'm sorry if they sound quality isn't tip-top. I don't think it's too bad though.

Here are a couple of the songs that I think FM/Lindsey fans might like most (but feel free to click on the link to download it and hear more songs):

Folky, Mirage-era Lindsey style song.
<object classid="clsid:D<param name="movie" value="http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer.swf/track=1591572188/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=4285BB/" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="never" /><param name="allowNetworking" value="always" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><embed src="http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer.swf/track=1591572188/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=4285BB/" width="400" height="100" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" quality=high allowScriptAccess=never allowNetworking=always wmode=transparent bgcolor=#FFFFFF ></embed><noembed><a href="http://peestie.bandcamp.com/track/whats-the-point">What's the Point? by Peestie</a></noembed></object>

Quiet folk song (one of my favourites)
<object classid="clsid:D<param name="movie" value="http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer.swf/track=335080556/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=4285BB/" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="never" /><param name="allowNetworking" value="always" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><embed src="http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer.swf/track=335080556/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=4285BB/" width="400" height="100" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" quality=high allowScriptAccess=never allowNetworking=always wmode=transparent bgcolor=#FFFFFF ></embed><noembed><a href="http://peestie.bandcamp.com/track/now-they-are-lost">Now They Are Lost by Peestie</a></noembed></object>

Folk rock song with some of the fancier guitar work near the end:
<object classid="clsid:D<param name="movie" value="http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer.swf/track=3224233571/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=4285BB/" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="never" /><param name="allowNetworking" value="always" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><embed src="http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer.swf/track=3224233571/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=4285BB/" width="400" height="100" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" quality=high allowScriptAccess=never allowNetworking=always wmode=transparent bgcolor=#FFFFFF ></embed><noembed><a href="http://peestie.bandcamp.com/track/fall">Fall by Peestie</a></noembed></object>

Share away with people :D Burn them a CD or give them the link to that page. It's free so either way I'm not losing any money. I'm just flattered that anyone gives it a listen, never mind even liking it

Time for yet more shameless self promotion. Another album that I've finished is available here:

http://peestie.bandcamp.com/

This time it's mostly sunny pop songs that are very much in the same vein as Fleetwood Mac. Two of them are the first two songs I ever wrote and I wanted to finally find a home for them so that informed the rest of the sound of the album.

You can stream the whole thing on the site or you can download it for free (just put in zero as the amount you want to pay when prompted). Here are a couple of the tracks:

A pop/rock song
<param name="movie" value="http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer.swf/track=130776728/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=4285BB/" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowNetworking" value="always" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><embed src="http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer.swf/track=130776728/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=4285BB/" width="400" height="100" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" quality=high allowScriptAccess=always allowNetworking=always wmode=transparent bgcolor=#FFFFFF ></embed><noembed><a href="http://peestie.bandcamp.com/track/close-your-eyes">Close Your Eyes by Peestie</a></noembed></object>

Something a bit more like the last album - folky acoustic stuff with a simple arrangement.
<param name="movie" value="http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer.swf/track=4039172343/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=4285BB/" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowNetworking" value="always" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><embed src="http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer.swf/track=4039172343/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=4285BB/" width="400" height="100" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" quality=high allowScriptAccess=always allowNetworking=always wmode=transparent bgcolor=#FFFFFF ></embed><noembed><a href="http://peestie.bandcamp.com/track/sunshine-and-rain">Sunshine and Rain by Peestie</a></noembed></object>

And an acoustic folk-pop song.
<param name="movie" value="http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer.swf/track=3782655047/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=4285BB/" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowNetworking" value="always" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><embed src="http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer.swf/track=3782655047/size=venti/bgcol=FFFFFF/linkcol=4285BB/" width="400" height="100" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" quality=high allowScriptAccess=always allowNetworking=always wmode=transparent bgcolor=#FFFFFF ></embed><noembed><a href="http://peestie.bandcamp.com/track/follow-the-sun">Follow the Sun by Peestie</a></noembed></object>

Any thoughts/opinions are welcome. :)
