BURBANK, Calif. (AP) -- Liz Rosenberg, a spokeswoman for big-name performers including Madonna and a longtime public relations manager at Warner Bros. Records, is leaving the company at the end of the month to form her own venture.
Warner CEO Tom Whalley announced the move in a statement Tuesday. Rosenberg, who joined Warner in 1971, plans to represent several of the label's artists at a new independent agency called Liz Rosenberg Media.
Among those Rosenberg will continue to represent are Michael Buble, Cher, and Stevie Nicks.
Warner Bros. Records is a subsidiary of Warner Music Group Corp.

Liz Rosenberg, longtime publicity exec at Warner Bros. Records, is ankling to form her own praisery, Liz Rosenberg Media, the label announced Tuesday.
During the course of her 39-year career at the company, Rosenberg was closely associated with Madonna.
The superstar vocalist -- originally signed in 1983 to Warner's distributed imprint Sire and later head of her own imprint, Maverick -- exited the Burbank-based label last year for a 360-degree deal with Live Nation.
As part of an ongoing consultancy with the firm, Rosenberg will continue to rep Madonna, as well as current Warner acts Michael Buble, Cher, Stevie Nicks, David Foster, Charice and Katherine Jenkins.
Warner Bros. Records chief exec Tom Whalley said in a statement: "Liz Rosenberg's contribution to the company has been immeasurable. We are delighted that as she begins her own enterprise, we will continue our association with her on behalf of several of our key artists."

She's been helpful in the past to me so I wish her luck. But I was kind of hoping
for someone new for Stevie. Goodbye Toots.

Turns out that LR did not leave of her own choice. She got dumped by WB and they let her save face and issue a press release that disguised that she was actually let go by the label.
Seeing that there should be a formal announcement soon that Stevie is going to be on Interscope, solo, and for any Fleetwood Mac releases, Liz R can still do pr for Stevie, should Stevie want her to, if she was pleased with the results Liz R achieved with her last big Nicks promotion, The Soundstage CD and DVD.
...Somewhat related...Haven't heard which label the 'Burlesque' Cher-Christina Aguilera soundtrack will be released on come this fall, but with Irving Azoff handling Aguilera's career, he could be the deciding factor. Cher is still 'signed' to Warner Bros., in pretty much the same way Stevie and Fleetwood Mac are 'signed' to WB, their last releases were with the label... but neither the label, Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, or her Cherness really are thrilled at the prospect of releasing new music on the label anymore, yet they are respected enough to not be dumped by WB. But, they are free to leave.
The wow.com website currently has an article and a brief interview that Liz Smith did with Liz R on her final day at Warner Brothers, and the truth comes out- Liz Rosenberg wasn't happy to leave, but she is rebuilding, and is regarded as strong and good at her work. But Stevie may or may not have benefitted from having Liz R rep her.
I guess Liz got her on all the tv magazine shows (Inside Edition, ET, whatever) and handled the cd&dvd signing at the NYC Barnes and Noble for Stevie, and it's not like Liz Rosenberg could have made the cd go platinum by her will, so maybe Stevie was satisfied and will stay loyal.
Not that it matters, but my personal opinion is that Liz Rosenberg and Madonna were a perfect publicist-star team who worked together to maximum results. I don't think Liz R did much to enhance Stevie's career. And Cher in the past decade hasn't really needed a publicist and didn't utilize Liz Rosenberg much- the last 'great p.r. woman' who clicked with Cher was named Lois Smith, who was amazingly good at juggling Cher during her Oscar peak that also saw her having hit albums and touring and doing a zillion profitable but cheesy commercial ventures. Sometime in her late 60s, Lois decided to leave public relations and follow her muse/dream of being a NY theater character actress, and that's when Rosenberg got Cher. I think this was maybe around 1993.
Liz paled next to Lois in doing a bangup job for Cher, and always seemed to be perfect in promoting Madonna. Personally, I don't think Stevie Nicks and Liz Rosenberg had a successful star-publicist partnership, but others may think they did, and could be right.

Liz Rosenberg, a longtime publicist for Madonna and other lightning-rod stars like Cher and Stevie Nicks, said: “Stars can definitely still keep secrets, though it’s harder these days. You just need to be clever, and the people around have to be trustworthy.”

“I wish lots of artists would keep more secrets,” Ms. Rosenberg said. “Once you get too close, it takes away the thrill. When you find out they had the same lunch you did, who wants that?”

they ( tmz) are run better than National Security it's getting harder for them ( "starz") to keep secrets unless they pay them off ( not publishing a very harmful video of justin bebier and getting "exclusives)
