So anyone else like tea? As much as I looooove coffee I loove having tea in the morning and right before I go to bed. I had a dream about tea last night. Not just ordinary tea....but MONKEY PICKED OOLONG!!

I went to the Natick Mall yesterday with Ashley and parents and sister(my idea) and I was like "Omg we gotta go in TEAVANA" yea bad idea...they hought $250 worth of tea!!! Monkey Picked Oolong was $200 for a POUND!! We all thought it was $25.00 per pound...but it was really per 2 ounces!! We're gonna be drinking tea for ever xD Considering 2ounces makes 25-30 cups of tea lol Then we bought Peachberry Jasmine Sutra Green Tea mixed with Strawberry Lemonade tea. You drink it iced and it is AMAZING!! If GOD made a tea it would be that LOL That only costs like $30 and then they had to buy the steeper thing and just HAAAD to buy the perfect tea teaspoon...LOL

So whats everyone's favorite tea?
Tea brand
etc.

Agree on all counts. We are beyond thrilled that our local US supermarket has a British food section complete with boxes of PG Tips. When we moved over from the UK we brought about 10 packs of Tips and thought we'd have to get a mate to send over regular shipments.

Time to put kettle on!

Aha, I remember discussing in another thread about Christine's favourite Biscuit being hobnobs and I said something along the lines of 'That's because she's a good British girl who knows which biscuit won't crumble when she dips it in her tea' :p

Pahaha, I just found this too:

That is brilliant! First thing we do in a crisis is put the kettle on...a cup of tea solves everything!

I'd love to get that on a t-shirt or similar. I have a few 'Keep calm carry on' items, but the above is tops.

I am a tea drinker. Although I don't drink it everyday. Plain old Lipton or Tetley for me. I do drink way to much iced tea everyday, Crystal Light Peach Tea, or Diet Snapple- Lemon or Peach Tea.

I just said to a few friends, it's the story of my life haha. I could be being chased by a flesh ravaging monster and I'd still find time for a brew ;)

I have a "tea cabinet". My favourite sorts are probably Christmas Tea (which I drink all year round), Mao Feng white tea or any number of other ones. Every years for Christmas and my birthday I get more tea. If people had to pick something to define me then I'd hazard a guess that every single one of them would say tea or guitar. Seriously, it's a bit of an obsession. :p If I somehow miss my tea in the morning and don't get one during the day then I end up with a sore head. If I'm sitting watching TV then I think I average at least 1 cup of tea every hour or 45 minutes.

At last count we had 50+ different sorts of tea. We didn't count several sets of 16 teas though, and I'm not sure why.

I like chai teas best.

Stash black chai
Bigelow vanilla chai
Oregon chai tea latte is a good mix/concentrate, but I hate to waste calories on a beverage unless it's alcoholic.

How do these compare what they serve at Starbucks? I've only had theirs, and I love it. If I buy some for home, what do you recommend?

I think the Starbucks stuff is from concentrate. This one is good & readily available:

If you make chai tea at home using a tea bag or leaves in a diffuser, you will probably want to add some milk/cream & a sweetener of some kind if you're used to Starbucks/DD-type chai.

Thanks! & yes, I usually have them make it with just soy milk which I'm assuming is sweet on its own. Ill figure it out, hopefully.

^ So, you eat your liquefied hobnobs... alone? Weirdo.

I'm actually not a big tea drinker, but I usually like Earl Grey or chai. The latter needs no flavouring, but if I'm having earl grey, it's usually got honey and whiskey in it. You know, for my health. :p

I agree, the Oregon brand is my favorite liquid concentrate, though I never have realized it should be (?) diluted! It's super-sweet for sure, I think the best one of many varities made is in the light green box, I believe its called Oregon Cashmere Green Tea, and it has an almond/honey thing going on, I could go through it by the case. Just microwave about 35 seconds and stir in about 4 tablespoons of milk, and boy, does it go well with painkillers. Damn, I don't mean to be glib or advocate abusing pain meds at all, but with meds taken as directed, it kicks in Percocet like you wouldn't believe. Soothing, the tea.
It sounds gross, but has anyone noticed gas stations here in The US sometimes have a great, hot 'Chai Tea' in a dispenser machine? My local Mobile has the best tea ever, the Cumberland Farms chain of stores (some of them) carry a good hot tea that has quite a bite to it- the CF's that have it usually have the 'tea tank' or whatever it is right next to the hot water dispenser.
OK- when you use tea bags, do you sometimes dab them over your eyes when they cool off? Kind of soothing, as well, and seeing I always use 2 teabags, I have 2 bags to use for any eye bags! A not-quite-hot tea bag also feels nice along the jawline, if you're staying home. Otherwise, rinse off before going out in public with tea-stains on both sides of your chin:)

^ Yes, gas stations have great chai tea/capuccino-type stuff in dispensers. Convenience stores too. I try to stay away - too many calories & probably full of chemicals & ****. But delicious ****. ;) I reserve this type of "tea" for road trips.

I like chamomile, just plain- boiled water and nothing else. It really helps me unwind. I used to drink 'kava kava' tea, but I was finding it was making my eyes dilated and making me feel odd...sort of disconnected from reality. (shudder)
