Anyone have a preference for the best Pre 1983 version of Sara?
Im listening to the St Louis 11/6/79 version from the Tusk Tour.
Anyone know what night the version they play on VH1 music video was? I thought that was a really good one. Does anyone have a soundboard of that night?

I believe that is the "VH1" version that also appears on the 1980 Live album. Of course, the "official" version contains lots of additional production.

Hey, watch it, that's my name! Hahaha, man, I had a coworker who would sing Sarah Smile at me everyday.
It's funny, but Sara and Sarah are completely different names to me, so I don't feel like I'm hearing my name when she sings it, but my mom heard it the other day and said, "Oh, this must be your favorite Fleetwood Mac song, you can make it your anthem!" And I told her she probaby wouldn't want that, since the song's talking about multiple dudes and undoing laces and whatnot. Talkabout slutty slut. :]
Anyway, I love the guitar on the live version, adds alot to it, gives it a warmer sound.

that is true, the guitar does add something..and it's kind of different every version.
haha and my name being Miranda, you'd think "Miranda" is my favorite song by the Mac, but it's about some suicidal model who's abused...so....no.

Yikes, yeah yours is significantly darker than mine, I can't complain. I'm sure you get a kick out of LB singing your name though, so it evens it out for you.

The video version is from that same show, St Louis 11/6/79. It's just edited to be like the "single" audio version that was released.
And the audio from that same show is from the soundboard.
Another version I love is from Japan 1980. I think that's the one where at the end, she sings "such a, such a heartbeat" and Lindsey plays a completely different guitar solo than he played in St. Louis.

I dont think the LIVE version is the same as the soundboard recording I got from Throwndown. Stevie sounds way more raspy and the soundboard is a little deeper.
