I had my first chance to see this legend live for the first time a few years ago, and I was literally in tears her voice was incredible. I admire her for being a woman of her convictions as well. I don't always agree with all of her views but I can't help but think and applaud her for being unafraid to stand up for what she believes in. Of course we all know Daimonds And Rust, which I've probably listened to oh about 10,000 times and The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, the cover of The Band's original. I also recently learned she has been a strong advocate for gay and lesbian rights over the years, which of course makes me love her even more. This is a true american icon that should be an example for all of us in that we should follow our convictions and stand up for what we believe in, no matter what that is.

I love Joan. What an icon. Diamonds and Rust, Hello in There, etc.... Brilliant.

Brilliant. I admire her so much and wish that I could have half the gumption that she does.

I like this gal. She sings like a dream. I don't share her politics, but I admire her intelligence & her passion. I like the way she sang Dylan's "It Ain't Me, Babe."
I saw "The Wolfman" this weekend.

She is badass. However, like Buffy Sainte-Marie, I can only take so much of her at one time. There is such a thing as too much vibrato.

I love Joan Baez! She deserves so much credit for what she has done for the Civil Rights Movement, Anti-War Movement, the Gay Rights Movement, and Human Rights around the world. She has stuck out her neck for what she believes in even when it was very unpopular or dangerous to do so.....Many times at the sacrifice of her record sales, concert attendance, and in some cases putting her life in serious danger. She deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. Aside from that, she has a beautiful, beautiful voice. Everyone should see her life documentary called How Sweet the Sound. It is terrific. Also, the CD that comes with it is very nice. It has all her greatest, and some are rare or live versions. It is a great set. You can purchase it on Amazon.com.

She's one of my favorites! I special ordered the Complete A&M Sessions and listened to it straight for two weeks. Good times.
