Just had to ask you something.
EVERY time I watch this I start to cry like a baby...it's like, to watch Stevie cry makes me cry, a flood of tears. I think this version of Rhiannon is the sadest...:(...
So now, do you also always cry when you see Stevie cry and when you watch this???
I think I'm NOT alone...xD

I don't cry, but I do feel the emotion that comes from the song, and the time it was preformed. This is a great Rhiannon.
And this reminds me. I think it would be cool to complie a list of live preformances where Stevie cried. Date/Place/Song.

I'm crying now. Not all out bawling but I'm all teared up. How come Stevie was crying? (don't hit me if I'm missing something really obvious *ducks*)
At first I was highly amused by her little bobbing dance though.

I think it was because it was nearing the end of her solo tour, which she had to keep short because Fleetwood Mac was recording Mirage. Something like that. Maybe she was unsure she'd get to have another solo tour? She looks genuinely upset, so it is pretty effecting.
As for her dancing.. this concert offers some of the best/amusing Stevie numbers.
Random High Kick in Edge of Seventeen is my favorite. :blob1:

Nothing beats the kicks/dancing/tambourine of Gold and Braid!

True true, but you forgot booty shakin'!
The Edge of Seventeen one is close second for me, because she looks so serious up to that point, then just turns around and throws up a high kick while looking right at Russ Kunkel during the chorus. She didn't even look like she braced herself, just threw it up randomly.
... I've seen that concert too many times.

I cry sometimes when I see/hear this performance. I almost ALWAYS cry when I hear the "birds rising" demo. The begining just rips my heart out.

I swear I am not making fun of you but I can't listen to that demo without laughing. You're referring to the one where she's talking...to the music...to Lindsey?

This performance always makes me laugh because of 3:50. Waddy messes up or something and Stevie gives him this "WTF!?" look. It is sooo priceless!

The one where she wants to take a tape recorder to the park to record the sound of...birds...rising? And asks Lindsey if he thinks Rhiannon is a beautiful name? Man, she was so serious and thought she had herself a great idea there!

I'm actually embarrassed for her when I listen to it.
BTW, Hi Brad. :wavey:

I'm thinking this was shortly after her friend Robin died.

Really I don't think Waddy messes up. It doesn't sound like he played anything wrong- he moved back to the verse like he was supposed to. I just Stevie had a moment! :)

Huh? That was in 1982? This was recorded in '81, she was just sad cause she can be:nod:

Sounds to me like Stevie was a little late is all.. and the look was kind of an "oops.."
That's how my brain processed it.

Haha I don't know! Stevie has had a lot of moments! lol but I can't figure out what was played wrong, but it does seem to me that the music isn't at the right spot when she goes to sing "She is like..." and since she gave Waddy that death stare I always assumed it was him who messed up!

No, it wasn't. Robin didn't die until Oct. of '82. Stevie was simply upset because of the fact that her tour was over and she had enjoyed the entire Bella Donna project so much.

Even though Stevie looks battered - the 1998 performance of HAEWAFU is also quite teary, watch out for the 'Poets, Priests of Nothing' part.

It looks like she's really enjoying herself in that video of HAEWAFY! Love it!!!
Or should I say, she seemed to be happy in the first half. Sad how she got emotional! I love her. Was this the last show from the tour?

There is a glitch in the music there but I always thought she was just doing her best creepy "cat in the dark" face because of that line.

I remember Atlantic city in 2007 when she broke down during landslide. I was in the 3rd row, and me and my friend burst into tears for her. She looked back at the screen and watched all the shots of her dad, and when the song ended she threw her hands to her face and the tears were straming. After that, her backup singers all broke down, and she came back to the mic after a minute whiping tears. It was really heartbreaking!

Hey. My name is Max and this is my first post. How are you guys? :wavey:
I love the performance of Beauty and the Beast from the Wild Heart VHS; I think it's pretty clear that she's crying towards the end. 4:30 onwards is just incredible.

Well I'm pretty sure if you watch the whole video they cut out a bit of the backstage stuff where she might have taken a hit of some coke. That mixed with the knowing this is the last show of what might be her last tour as a solo artist and having to leave all the attention and share it with four other people might have just made her sad.

I think I also would have been crying... at the thought of having to give up such a kick-ass band! Russ Kunkel. Benmont Tench. Roy Bittan. Bobbye Hall. To have them all together on the stage at the same time was truly unbelievable... yet unsustainable too. :distress: Admittedly, she's had some good bands since then... but she would never be able to come close to re-capturing the chemistry of this BD tour band. And... ugh... any band with Carlos Rios is already extremely handicapped from the get-go.
BTW, Hi Brad. :wavey:

Lindsey was supposedly seen around "backstage" several times during the Enchanted Tour. Whether it's true, idk...

I have to say I always get teary eyed for the "Edge Walk" on this show, the expressions on Stevie's face are so full of emotion and to see the interaction is just so speacial! I also feel the same way about the "Red Rocks Edge Walk"!

Well...Robin was sick...and at this time Stevie already knew it..so knowing that along with it being the last show..and everything moving so fast at that time in her life was probably so overwhelming....This performance makes me so emotional as well..this is always one of my favorite performances of Rhiannon and yes..I still cry too sometimes...love the Blue shawl for it ...and it was the first tour she ever opened Rhiannon with the slow intro...that was just the beginning of the evolution.:)
