I'm curious to know each person's favorite. For some, it's obvious who they like best, others, I'm not so sure of :)

Stevie used to be my favorite, but during the Dance tour, Lindsey won me over, and he has not disappointed me since.

Christine! I prefer Stevie's solo work to her songs on Rumours, and overall, Christine's songs are my favourites when I listen to FM, Rumours and Tusk.

Mick! He's the center of this FM star system, with his gravitational pull keeping those pretty, glittery little planets from spinning wildly off into space.

(But then I also like the red shoes, the hats, the pervy little skirt, and the shrieking vest.)

It's always a toss up of Bob Welch and Christine.. but since this is just Rumours era...

You shouldn't have made this an anonymous poll.

My vote is for Lindsey. He's the creative backbone of the band and the one whose solo work I find most compelling. And he seems to have good taste in movies.

That said: Stevie is the star. And I love her. And I would probably rather be her friend than any of the other members.

My "favourite" used to be Christine.

But over the years I've learnt and now do appreciate them all indivdually.

I didn't know how to make it unanonymous poll! I guess I'm still learning

It's ALWAYS been Stevie, for me....but lately, idk, I've been getting a little more into Lindsey.

Favorite Fleetwood Mac members are:

Peter Green
Bob Welch
Rick Vito

But, being that this is Rumours-era question....

I can't say. (toss up between John & Mick)

I love em all equally. That goes for the three songwriter's too, I love just as many Christine songs as Stevie or Lindsey's. And Mick and John don't write songs but what they add is such a huge part of what makes the Fleetwood Mac sound, it wouldn't be the same without em.

That said... I voted for John in the poll, cause I'd wanna hang with him the most and I don't wanna see no zero next to his name!

Also, he inspired me to learn to play bass. That scene in the Tusk doc where he's figuring out with Lindsey and then laying down the bassline on Save Me a Place is my favorite moment in the whole thing.

Liddy Buck. They've all got a whole mess of talent but I tend to listen to Lindsey's solo stuff more than any FM so it's no contest for me.

I'd say Lindsay, who edges out Christine, who's just ahead of Stevie.
Lindsay was the most creative of the three members, which is the main reason why I love FM so much!
Christine wrote a tonne of excellent songs for the band! And she never (well, in my opinion anyway) disappointed in any of them!
And Stevie... well, she didn't play an instrument (well, occasionally the tambourine), and she didn't write as many songs as either Lindsay or Christine... but that voice of her's more than makes up for any perceived shortcomings in instrumentation and songwriting!
As for Mick and John... well, where would FM be without the two namesakes?!

If I compare Stevie and Christine as persons, I like Stevie more, but if I look at Fleetwood Mac as group and their songs, I prefer Christine. Stevie is for me great solo singer. But as a member of Fleetwood Mac... for me Christine is best.

I'd say I do like each of them in different ways really....I did pick Stevie though but Christine is next than Lindsey.....Probably the only song I can't stand off Rumours much anymore is Don't Stop....its overplayed way too much.....as I guess you could say many of those songs have been overplayed way too much.....I guess thats way Tusk beats out Rumours for me now really.....anyway....it's all good......:D

Don't Stop has always annoyed me. It's so sickeningly optimistic. I guess it's sweet that Chris wrote it for John, but she should have just mailed it to him or something.

Stevie on Say You Will is what captivated me with the band and herself, so it's absolutely her!!! Without a doubt!!

Although I was hella impressed and taken with Lindsey at my concert!

I don't think that's right, somehow. Wasn't there an interview where someone said "Stevie just kept on writing and writing. She wrote so much!" or am I on crack here?

I think Stevie wrote more than the others, but they just picked less of her songs, for whatever reasons.

Anyhoo. I voted Stevie. I think she's the "image" of Fleetwood Mac, chance are if you ask anyone, who isn't a huge fan, about Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks will be one of the first things that they think of.

I always prefer the Stevie songs on the albums too (Apart from Tango, where she could have left the band it would have made no difference) and I think she has the best voice/image/songwriting skills. xD I just love Stevie.

She is clearly, IMO, the least talented member, in the history of the band! Style, over substance, indeed!

Actually, I you may quite possibly be right... I remember recently reading that Stevie had a fourth song prepared for Mirage (it later made Say You Will, but was redone for that album), but, perhaps due to her solo success and Lindsey's resulting mild jealousy, the rest of the band wanted to restrict it to three.
Also, to be fair, Lindsey didn't contribute all that many songs to the first two Rumours-era albums, especially compared to the later albums FM made (e.g. 9/20 songs for Tusk).
Also, I think Stevie's contribution to TITN is underrated - "Seven Wonders" is what inspired me to buy TVBOFM, and I think "Welcome To The Room... Sara" is a great song (if anything, it's Lindsey's vocals on that track that annoy me). And "Book Of Miracles" is a beautiful instrumental! Having said all that, my liking for "When I See You Again" fluctuates frequently.
Still, my preference order remains unchanged.

Lindsey's contributions to the album sessions were 90 percent arranging (orchestrating), producing, & playing. There's a lot of work to be done after songs have been written in order to get an album out.

Also, I think Stevie's contribution to TITN is underrated - "Seven Wonders" is what inspired me to buy TVBOFM,I love that track & I love Stevie's vocal, but let's face it: Stevie's contribution was to sing it.

And "Book Of Miracles" is a beautiful instrumental! But Stevie doesn't play an instrument, so what was her contribution to "Book of Miracles"?

Yes, that's right. :)
Yes, that's right as well! :)
Stevie's credited for writing it along with Lindsey, according to the discography...

I'm not surprised. Even though he is "Fleetwood", he usually is not Mr. Congeniality for fans.

Yeah, but THEY don't try to sell us wine.

Seriously, though, I chose More Than One Favorite. For me, the Fleetwood-McVie-McVie rhythm section makes the band. I love it just as much with Stevie and Lindsey as I do with Bob Welch or Billy Burnette.

ETA: To put it another way, Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac is unbelievably better than by Buckingham Nicks. I certainly can't say the same for Believe Me or Spare Me A Little Of Your Love after 1975. Why is a maybe. I'd have to hear a live version with Weston.

No Steve, you are correct... Crystal by FM is far superior to BN as well... you just can't beat the rhythm section of FM and Christine's solo at the end..
