was curious cause they said over a 100 artists have performed on this remake would be cool to see if stevie got in on this since the original got Lindsey back in 1985. Does anyone know?

unfortunately, i don't think so......it's all crap: Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas, etc....but i do believe Barbara Streisand is in it and Celine Dion!

No Stevie was not a part of it, the full list can be found on the We Are The World wikipedia page under the 2010 recording.

Frankly I'm surprised she didn't participate. Someone with her longevity and legendary status (and vocal ability!) certaintly would have improved the roster; plus, it would have been a reinforcing dose of exposure after the Grammy appearance (a 1, 2 punch if you will). I'm not saying she needed to do any damage control, quite the contrary. But singing on this would have another oversized, ostritch feather in her fabulous, felt top hat!

Lindsey Buckingham would probably call her a copy cat at their next band meeting. Speaking of Lindsey, in the original video, he looks like he is mocking the whole thing anyway.

Besides, the song is ridiculous and must we endure it all over again? Yikes.

OK, I never knew LB was in the original! Duh. Anyway, I'm with you. With all the current "talent" out there, could someone come up with a new song?? I'm curious to see how the new version goes over...

Exactly. Something new...or as new as the current music industry can be.

This reminds me of the film, Addams Family Values, and Puglsey and Wednesday are at summer camp, and the counselors put them in the "harmony hut" to punish them with happiness and joy...and they show the poster of "We Are The World" among other horrible things in the room. LOL.

The first time my Fleetwood friend and I watched that video we were completely giddy and squealing every time it showed Lindsey -- "Oooh look, there's his chin! It's his chin!" :o good times

Didn't they ask her for the original but she would only do it if they could guarantee her a solo, but they couldn't, so she said "no"?
