Hi y’all. Newbie here. :wavey:

I’ve been a huge Stevie/FM fan for years. I got into Stevie’s music after hearing ‘Leather and Lace’ on the radio – which I thought was such an AMAZING song. Since then, I was hooked and started buying and collecting.

I’ve have seen Stevie more than a dozen times over the years. Most recently, the FM ‘Unleashed’ show in Montreal, the ‘Crystal Vision’ show at ‘Casino-Rama’ in Ontario (where Stevie tripped on stage - yikes), and the Tom Petty concert in Bristow, VA where Stevie was his guest.

Anyways, I’ll let the rest of this questionnaire speak for me. Feel free to copy, paste, fill in your own answers. Thanks!

Roland

-----------------------------------------------------

1. Name or username: Roland

2. Where you live: ‘I’m a nomad, I can’t bad about the way I am’ (in the past 4 years: Montreal, plus in Point Reyes, CA and Manassas, VA as a student intern for the National Park Service).

3. Ok, so what draws you to Stevie’s music? For me, there’s just no one like her. I like other types of music too (very different from Stevie; am a big Green Day fan), but no performer comes close in terms that I would want to travel far to see, get everything she’s ever recorded, plus spend more than I should on ebay. I find her music moving and inspiring. Also, her visual image is so unique and compatible with the fairytale, mystical quality of her music and lyrics. I love that quote from Danny Goldberg in ‘Enchanted’ where he says Stevie is truly what you imagine her to be. :)

4. Five favorite Stevie solos songs (not in any particular order):

Nightbird
If Anyone Falls
Candlebright
Planets of the Universe
Leather and Lace

5. Five favorite Stevie songs with Fleetwood Mac (not in any particular order):

Sara
Sisters of the Moon
Beautiful Child
Illume
Silver Springs

6. Favorite Stevie video: If Anyone Falls (very romantic)

7. Favorite FM video: Gypsy

8. Five least Favorite Stevie solo or Stevie with FM songs (not in any particular order):

Running Through the Garden (bad lyrics and super cheesy 80’s sounding music. Hearing it, I’m reminded to mow my lawn)

Street Angel (dreary, zombie sleep walking music expresses Stevie’s hazy klonopin state of mind at the time. Also, the profound statement she was intending to make about the plight of homeless people just doesn’t come across.

Cry Wolf (she submitted some 50 sings for consideration for OSOTM. This yawner, not even written by her, is one of the best?! Gawd!)

When I See You Again (how may different ways can you sing ‘baby’?!)

9. Favorite Stevie solo album: TISL (great songs and album art)

10. Favorite FM album: Tusk (Stevie’s best songs with FM)

11. Have you ever met Stevie? No, the closest I ever got was to shake her hand during the ‘Edge’ walk at her 2001 TISL show in Toronto. I was REALLY considering going to the ‘Barnes and Noble’ booking in NYC last year, but I found out about it at the last minute. If I had a week or 2 at least to plan…ugh!. I still kinda kick myself over this one: I mean how many times do chances like this come along. Hmm, I need to go to a Night of a 1000 Stevie’s; the real Stevie has often promised to show up in disguise.

12. Do you have any interesting collectibles? Yep, I got a bunch of stuff, but my most interesting are: a Wild Heart tour ring; one of those 3D Wild Heart cards; a OSOTM hologram; some signed CD’s off ebay (yep, real – I know her signature really well, I always feel sorry when I see people bid for obviously fake crap); an inscribed pic I got through Stevie’s old mail lady Ginny Kamano; the rare paperback bio; and believe it or not, a copy of ‘Sweet Poison’ (for those who don’t know, the autobio written by Cheryl Cusella, the infamous Stevie impersonator – mine is signed too! LOL).

13. Favorite Stevie album cover: TISL (beautiful colors, Stevie in full ‘regalia’, and gorgeous ocean background).

14. Least favorite Stevie album cover: Timespace (yawn). Ditto for Street Angel. I think it took the art directors like 10 seconds to come up with the concept for these. Completely forgettable.

15. Favorite FM album cover: Rumours (pretty iconic image by now)

16. Least favorite FM album cover: Behind the Mask (who the %#@$% are these people?!)

17. Five songs Stevie has never done on stage but should:

Touched By An Angel
Candlebright
Love Is
Trouble In Shangri-la
Kind of Woman

18. Five songs in demo form that should be released officially:

Mistaken Love
Space Needle
All the Beautiful Worlds
My Heart (or whatever it’s really called. One that goes, ‘Shadows at the first sign of life…’)
If You Were My Love

19. Five songs that need to come back to the setlist:

Nightbird
Leather and Lace
Sisters of the Moon
Frozen Love
Garbo

20. Favorite and least favorite Stevie look: Love her Tusk look. Hate the OSOTM look (big white hair, quarterback shoulder pads, ugly hats, and not wearing her trademark platform boots made her look like she lost her mojo. Her crimped hair and weight gain weren’t flattering for the SA tour, but at least she had some nice outfits, not the boring basic black she’s almost always wearing now. Bring back the blue tablecloth cape!

13. Favorite Stevie album cover: TISL... none can match the beautiful packaging and Stevie-ness of this album.

14. Least favorite Stevie album cover: Timespace... it's gross looking. Has nothing to do with her.

15. Favorite FM album cover: Rumours... it defines everything FM is to me. Mirage is an extremely close second.

16. Least favorite FM album cover: Behind the Mask. Agreed: who the %#@$% are these people?!

17. Five songs Stevie has never done on stage but should: I'm drawing a blank on this one since she's recently done Storms and Beautiful Child. Perhaps Straight Back. I know it was rehearsed, but never done live.

18. Five songs in demo form that should be released officially:

Space Needle
My Heart
If You Were My Love (that's my current #1)

Destiny Rules

Thanks to everybody for the ‘welcome to the choir’!

Lexi: Yep, Stevie walked in front of her back-up singers, and suddenly fell. There was a gasp from the audience, but Jana Anderson helped her up quickly. She wasn’t hurt and even made a little joke about it later.

Oops, I repeated # 20 in # 3. I’ll change it.

3. Ok, so what draws you to Stevie’s music? My mom has been a fan for forever, so Stevie was just always in my life. And she seemed to pop up when I needed her most. This is good :).

1. Name or username: Matt

2. Where you live: Czech Republic

3. Ok, so what draws you to Stevie’s music? Cassette of Fleetwood Mac - Greatest Hits ´88. I really didnt know that Stevie Nicks even exists. I just know some Fleetwood Mac and I just loved most of songs on this album. Then I found out what Timespace is, and that was it :).

4. Five favorite Stevie solos songs (not in any particular order):

I´m glad that I don´t have to make any order :). But still difficult. And I think that I change sometimes my top favourite songs. So this time:
Stand Back
Edge Of Seventeen
Trouble In Shangri-la
Fall From Grace
I Can´t Wait

5. Five favorite Stevie songs with Fleetwood Mac (not in any particular order):

Rhiannon
Gold Dust Woman
No Question Asked
Running Through the Garden
Silver Springs

6. Favorite Stevie video: Rooms on Fire... i just like all stuff from late 80s :).

7. Favorite FM video: Skies the limit (awesome shots from live BTM concert)

8. Five least Favorite Stevie solo of Stevie with FM songs (not in any particular order):

When I See You Again
Unconditional Love
I Still Miss Someone
The Highwayman
I Will Run To You

9. Favorite Stevie solo album:

Trouble In Shangri-la ... as an album of songs and style, i think this is my most favourite

10. Favorite FM album:

that´s very hard to say... well probably Tango in the night, but that´s mostly because of Christine McVie. Stevie make songs much better mostly only on stage.

11. Have you ever met Stevie?

No :). How could I? Even that I was in Berlin concert last year was like something unbeliavable, that I can´t believe that´s happening.

12. Do you have any interesting collectibles?

No... I didn´t take note that I could buy some Fleetwood Mac stuff in czech except CD´s.

13. Favorite Stevie album cover:

Well... actually I really didn´t care about this very much :). I don´t know. Maybe the Rock a Little one.

14. Least favorite Stevie album cover:

Hmmmm... maybe Timespace, but it realy isn´t important for me.

15. Favorite FM album cover:

maybe Mirage.

16. Least favorite FM album cover:

Tusk... it´s weird :).

17. Five songs Stevie has never done on stage but should:

that´s hard to say, because I dont know how good these songs would be on stage. There are some songs I love, but I really prefer their album version than the live one. But there are also songs the other way. So I´ll pick songs I just like from those which were never done live.

Trouble in Shangri-la
Sometimes It´s a Bitch
Desert Angel
Freedom
No Question Asked

18. Five songs in demo form that should be released officially:

I love demos of Dial the number and Lily Girl from OSOTM, but probably it wouldn be so good recorded now. I like it because of ´89s stevie.

And I also love TISL demos of Space Needle, Have No Heart and Anabell Lee.

It really depends on what time she recorded that. Now, many years after that, it would be mostly really completely different song. You know, for me as not-english man, words of songs aren´t really important. I choose music and songs because of sound. If I want I can translate that, but I don´t do that everytime. So my favourite songs aren´t because of lyrics... maybe that´s one big difference between english-spoken fans and the others.

19. Five songs that need to come back to the setlist:

I Can´t Wait
Talk To Me
Blue Denim
Every Day
Sisters of the Moon

20. Favorite and least favorite Stevie look:

I think all of you know that my favourite is her late 80s look, big hair and make-up, shoulder pads, etc. I know it´s funny today, but I just like it...
and least favourite? she doesn´t look good in some photos of RAL tour, but also I have to admitt that in the second part of the year 1990 her face was like "Oh I really don´t care about anything." But I finally find out what was the worst look. It was when she had a wig, I think she used it sometimes in 1991 and also on that horrible video for Unconditional love in 1993. And I hate Stevie with black hair - also used in 1991. So I can´t say that she look in this period of few years good and in this bad... it really changed often. For example I really like the promo photos for Sometimes it´s a bitch.

9. Favorite Stevie solo album:

For years I would always answer this question by saying it is a tie between “The Wild Heart” and “The Other Side Of The Mirror”, however, as of right now I’m leaning towards “Rock A Little.” For me it has always been Stevie’s most fun album.

10. Favorite FM album: Mirage

11. Have you ever met Stevie?: Kind of - I was fortunate enough to obtain a backstage pass during the TISL tour at the Columbia, MD show (thanks to a special friend). There was a decent amount of peeps back there and Stevie finally did come out about 20 min later - I really didn’t know what to say to her. I remember somebody said, “Thank you for your music Stevie’s, it is very healing during these times.” I think I said something like “I love Twisted Stevie, thank you.” And as she was walking she did say, “well we did do it in the set.” LOL … she was polite to answer but I felt like such a goof.

12. Do you have any interesting collectibles? I’m sure I do but I’m drawing a blank right now. I have not been into collecting music memorabilia for years now so …

13. Favorite Stevie album cover: TISL

Hey, I'm in Austin! It was nice to finally see the sun again today, huh?

I didn't know you are from Austin! It was very nice. I go to UT so I have spent the past few days walking in the cold rain from class to class and it's been miserable. I am so ready for summer.

Thank you!

Just a trivial thing...that photo you have of Lindsey next to his BMW 2002 brought back a memory.

I was the first person waiting in line at what was eventually a rained out Fleetwood Mac concert at UC Santa Barbara on Mother's Day 1977, when Lindsey & Richard Dashut came driving by in that very BMW, pulled up to the security people on the other side of the barricade, showed ID, then drove into the stadium grounds & parked directly behind the stage (this was during a severe downpour...had the awning over the stage not blown down and all the equipment gotten soaked, the concert would've gone on, since it was a "rain or shine" disclaimed event).

Oh, and where was the photo taken of Fleetwood Mac onstage? Looks familiar...like I might've been there, too.

I don't have the answer but Sanne might know.

My favorite story of yours is that time in, I think 1976, when you were attending an Eric Clapton concert and FM arrived and sat a few rows in front of you.

Hey Guys. I'm new here, so I figured that this might be a good place to introduce myself :)

1. Name or username: Max

2. Where you live: Just outside London, Uk.

3. Ok, so what draws you to Stevie’s music? I've always been attracted to mystical imagery and the occult, so I found that Stevie's music and image really spoke to me. Buxom blonde ladies in capes are always a good thing in my book

4. Five favorite Stevie solos songs (not in any particular order):

At the moment (they change all the time) it would be something like:
Edge of Seventeen
Outside the Rain
Wild Heart
No Spoken Word
Beauty and the Beast

5. Five favorite Stevie songs with Fleetwood Mac (not in any particular order):

Gold Dust Woman
Sara
Storms
Gypsy
Fireflies

6. Favorite Stevie video: I Can't Wait

7. Favorite FM video: Gypsy or Big Love

8. Five least Favorite Stevie solo of Stevie with FM songs (not in any particular order)

If Anyone Falls
When I see you Again
After the Glitter Fades
Silver Girl
Too far from Texas

9. Favorite Stevie solo album: Wild Heart

10. Favorite FM album: Tusk

11. Have you ever met Stevie? God, I just want to raid that woman's wardrobe.

12. Do you have any interesting collectibles? No, I don't think so. Just all the CDs, DVDs and Vinyls.

13. Favorite Stevie album cover: The Other Side of the Mirror or Trouble in Shangri-La

14. Least favorite Stevie album cover: Street Angel

15. Favorite FM album cover: Rumours

16. Least favorite FM album cover: Behind the Mask

17. Five songs Stevie has never done on stage but should:

The Highwayman
If I were you
Sable on Blond
Nothing Ever Changes (Has she ever done this live?)
Doing the best that I can (Escape from Berlin)

18. Five songs in demo form that should be released officially:

Christian (Spinning Wheels)
Smile At You (the angry version)
Forest of the Black Roses
Blue Water
Mirror Mirror (the 1984 version)

19. Five songs that need to come back to the setlist:

Sisters of the Moon
No Spoken Word
I Can't Wait
Straight Back (Was this ever performed live?)
Talk to me

20. Favorite and least favorite Stevie look: My favourites have to be 1981-1984 (in performances such as Solid Gold or the HBO special, I think she looks absolutely beautiful.) As for least favourite, I'd have to say 1989-1998 - I know that sounds harsh, and I know they were bad years for Stevie; but I think the image suffered in that period of her career (IMO).
