I finally bought it. And itīs great, awesome. I love it. The performance of Edge of Seventeen is brilliant.

But I have a question, thatīs why I create this thread. At the end I recognized her clothes for Beauty and the Beast. She did it live there probably, but why isnīt that song on that DVD? I bet it was great too.

Do you know someone something about that?

There are always songs from the actual set that get cut for a video release.

I believe she couldn't get the rights to use clips from the Beauty and the Beast film she showed on the screen during her performance.

there was some discussion about this in another thread. I believe she sung it twice, with and without the film footage. I think someone who was there said this. For whatever reason, neither version made the DVD. I find it heartbreaking that this song wasn't included in the DVD. The show just doesn't seem "finished" without it. I don't think any other song from the set was cut except for this one. I could be wrong about this, though. I'm sure Stevie wouldn't have left it off unless it was absolutely necessary but it's still very disappointing.

Well... perhaps having it on the CD and not the DVD is part of what makes the CD essential.

That's how she gets you to buy both! lol

You know, I did wonder why she left the stage wearing the white skirt outfit, then come back onstage about 10 seconds later in a completely different outfit!

... I'm sure even Stevie can't get changed THAT quickly.

I wish that Outside The Rain would have been on there, or at least something different besides a revamped greatest hits compilation. For me there were too many cover songs, I personally cannot stand Circle Dance. She needs to bring back Talk To Me and Rooms On Fire :D

I think all her performances are stellar on this DVD. I wish we could see some "cut" footage pop up somewhere.

I think the Soundstage DVD is an example of why Stevie & Co. doesn't do songs like Talk to Me and Rooms on Fire anymore. And I do mean Stevie & Co. -- obviously Carlos and Waddy and the girls have say in it too. And Chris Nicks. And whomever else. Anyway, when you look at those songs, and a couple others too, it seems tough to fit them into the context of the show. Seems like they might be perceived by the band as sticking out, in way that unfairly highlights their age.

I love the songs and have actually been on a Rooms on Fire kick lately. Which is to say I listened to it in the shower the other morning.

Outside the Rain WOULD have been great on it. Circle Dance kills me and I have a love/hate relationship with Crash. If there had to be a cover on it, should've been Face the Promise.

There were some bits and pieces of the DVD I'd get rid of if it were mine, but overall, it is a really great piece of work.
