What's your fave sandwich? I think I started a thread like this way back when...but hell here it is again.
Mine is definitely a Reuben. That sandie is orgasmic. Period.

I like a good turkey club melt on some sourdough bread with bacon, cheese, and mayonnaise. And some fries with a side of homemade ranch. Perkins has a good melt and fries w/ ranch.

I have never heard anyone say "sandie"...
Anyways... When I was Stateside, the prime rib peppercorn sandwich from Quiznos was to die for. I don't think they make it anymore. :distress:

Yeah prime rib sandwiches are good too. There's Quizno's all over here but I have yet to ever eat at one. They look to have awesome subs.

Being a native Central Texan, I will always have a soft spot for most anything from Schlotzsky's Deli. Their sourdough bread is outta this world!!

I first saw Simon Baker in the 2004 film Book Of Love and thought he was so cute. He's another example of how over 40 can still look so good.

I have many favorite sanniches on account of I'm lazy and they're portable.
I like peanut butter & honey.
Peanut butter, grape jelly & potato chips (has to be the ruffly kind or they get too soggy too quick, though)
The local sub shop's masterpiece of a ham & cheese sub with thick sliced ham, melted provolone, shredded lettuce, thinly sliced onions and piles of mayo goodness. Drool. I will miss those when I move.
And cheese steaks, when done correctly.

Agreed. Those are among my favorites too... but for such a simple sandwich, so few can nail them! Kinda like chicken salad sandwiches for that matter...

I'm actually a very down to earth and simple person really and I'm pretty simple as far as what I look for in someone else.

I know, right? Step one, never clean the grill. It's easy, people. You can do it.
I like a good chicken salad. I lived on Tim Horton's chicken salad wraps for like a year. I ate them every day for breakfast before work. They were mighty tasty.
With no tomatoes, though, because I can't abide the feel of tomatoes.

I LOVE Culvers' cheeseburgers and their Pot Roast melt sandwiches! I'm not a BBQ beef person, just give me plain shredded beef in gravy on a bun and I'm in heaven and their shredded beef sandwiches are delicious. This threads gonna make us fat!

Oreos
Carnation Ice Cream Sandwiches
Tuna & mayo (sprinkled generously with dill) and Alfalfa Sprouts on either white or sourdough.
Paul's Place bacon-cheeseburger (lettuce & 1000 isl dressing only)
Arby's "Big Montana" (or the "large roast beef sandwich" as they're called now, doused heavily with their Three Pepper Sauce)
Arby's Pecan Chicken Salad Sandwich (only sold in California Arby's, I believe)
Tom's Place Patty Melt (w/bacon, 1000 Isl dressing & grilled onions) on rye or sourdough
Anyone old enough to remember Taco Bell's "Bellburger"....or Del Taco's "Bun Taco"?
David

I love a well-made tuna salad sandwich, on toast. I just love tuna salad.
I also love the typical Italian, like the one at Togo's or Panera.
I don't ever need lettuce on my sandwiches. I always leave it off. When I order a BLT (another favorite), I ask for a "BLT without the L," & then explain. The waitress laughs & then whomps me upside the head.
French dips are great -- but please NO GRISTLE in any sliced beef or pork or chicken sandwich (like the Vietnamese pork & cilantro sandwich on French bread, another favorite). Nothing ruins the sandwich-consuming experience faster than a mouthful of gristle.
Leave the gristle on the kitchen counter, please!

i do this too, i thought i was the only one, because i get the strangest looks when i ask for my blt this way~ when i make them at home, i never use lettuce either, just the b & t~

OK to settle the orgin of calling it a 'sandie':
My sister and I just started calling them sandies one day I would say when we were 15 and 17 laying out at the beach on Cape Cod one summer... :) Like I would say "let's get a sandie and some of those onion rings" or something...
I'm originally from New Jersey and didn't move to the Chi area until 5th grade.... we called big sandwiches grinders and hoagies and a coke was a 'soda', not 'pop'.

I don't have a favorite type of sandwich. I know how sad for me.

In Ohio we call soda "pop". And sandwiches are called sandwiches. When I think of Sandies, I think of the Keebler pecan cookies.

Good grief... you make it sound like people are supposed to fall off of a cliff when they hit 40.
As for Simon Baker... meh. I just don't understand the appeal at all.
By the way... for me it's a hummus, onion and alfalfa sprouts wrap.

No I was never implying that at all and I don't think people stop being sexy once they hit 40. I can think of a lot of people who still look damn good over 40, and they're people I know and not necessarily celebrities. I was simply complimenting how good I thought Simon Baker looked and apparently a lot of other people think the same. We all like and see different qualities and attributes in someone. You might think someone's drop dead gorgeous when I don't think they're attractive at all. So it's ok and people like different things.
