Well, for those of us that are sports fans this is a really fun time of the year. Being from Minnesota of course my favorite team is the Vikings and I really like our chances to get to the Super Bowl this year. Now we face the Dallas Cowboys after they ran The Philadelphia Eagles out of town yesterday. I'm a little worried about the Cowboys I must admite this game makes me somewhat nervous. Now the other incredibly good news I got yesterday as a Viking fan is that the Green Bay Packers were beaten!!:blob2::blob1: What an amazing game it was though. And then in the AFC you had the Jets upsetting the Bengals and in much more of a surprise to me, not so much the result as the way in which it was carried out is the Ravens destroying the Patriots at home no less! So now we have the divisional round and the pairings look like this:
Saturday: NFC, Cardinals at Saints.
AFC, Ravens at Colts
Sunday: NFC, Cowboys at Vikings
AFC, Jets at Chargers
I think the Cardinals Saints game is a tossup, I think based on the way they played yesterday the Ravens will at least cover if not outright win the game against the Colts
and on Sunday I think the Vikings will win but it will be very close and I think the Chargers should be able to handle the Jets.

Don't count my beloved Colts out just yet. Baltimore might still hold a grudge on the team packing up and leaving in 1984, but we have some pissed off players because we weren't allowed to try for our perfect season. I think the Colts will go all the way!

Minnesota aint gonna win I'm afraid:). I saw them get blasted by Chicago the other week and they really weren't too good. I can't see the Cowboys winning either but their cheerleaders are worth the admission.
The Colts are my tip to win. The best team by far!

Quite honestly, I think the favorite to win would have to be the Chargers. They are the team playing the best and with the most confidence going in, having won I think 10 in a row to end the season.

Forgotten? How could I forget. I was at that game. Capped off the week from hell. One of the starters on that Cowboys team lived directly across the street from me... lots of traffic during the day, parties every night.. just insufferable. And then they had to go and WIN THE GAME too.
Oh, and to add insult to injury, Diana Ross did the halftime show

Good enough reason for me! :)
Tony Romo is overrated, I hate their nickname ("America's team" -- gag).
I get a lot of crap for it because it seems that everyone in Texas (with the exception of maybe two-thirds of Houston) likes the Cowboys.
Obviously the Texans aren't as "famous" as the Cowboys...

Anyway, I'm going with the Ravens now because I'm "Wacko for Flacco". I saw him play at the University of Delaware, & he's really quite good. If it wasn't for him, the Ravens wouldn't have gotten as far as they have. I'd love to see them beat the Colts.

What a great moment it was to see Favre come through and throw away the game for the Vikings. What sweet vindication it must have been for all the Green Bay fans whom he pretty much pissed on by going over to the Vikings. It's a no-lose Super Bowl for me as a fan. I'm just so pissed off right now. The Vikings totally dominated that game in Time of possesion and yards, and yes they did turn the ball over but the league obviously wanted the Saints in the superbowl and they got what they wanted... Nobody can sit here and tell me the better team won because the Vikings handed the Saints the game and the Ref's had it in for us too. It will be incredibly dull because the Colts will dominate the game hands down. Take out stupid mistakes like turn overs, which the Saints can certainly not count on Indy giving up, and you see just how clearly the Vikings were the better team last night-- they controlled the game in yards and downs. If the Saints can't come out on top in stats over Minnesota, not to mention if they have to go into overtime after five turnovers at home, they don't have a chance against Indy. I don't want to watch a superbowl I already know the outcome of, though I might enjoy betting on those -5 points.

They may have been lucky, but they're the ones going to the Super Bowl and Favre and the Vikings aren't. Speaking of luck, the Vikings had their share of good fortune with a lame late hit out of bounds call and two fumbles that they were fortunate enough to recover. It all comes down to the two things I knew would happen going in; coaching and Favre. The 12 men in the huddle infraction was a disaster that falls directly on Brad Childress. The subsequent interception falls directly on Favre, although I would also place blame on Childress for making that call as well. When it came to overtime, the Vikings defense did not do enough to prevent the Saints from making it to field goal range. In a year where kickers around the league have missed game tying/winning kicks, the Saints kicker showed some nerve and came through with a career best kick.
In the end, it doesn't matter how they won. The Saints are going to the Super Bowl.

Exactly, the saints are going to the superbowl. I never said they weren't. I just believe the better team did not win, and the saints will lose to the colts. They barely beat a teams that had 5 turnovers whether the vikings recovered them are not. I just don't think the saints have a chance, which is just fine with me because I LOVE the Colts and I'm going to marry Peyton ;)

I don't know if I'd call them the better team considering all those f*ck ups. 5 turnovers? Wow. "Better" teams don't make that many mistakes in 1 game, and certainly not a playoff game.

I guess I'll be rooting for the Saints, if only cuz they've never gone to the big show before. Sorry Maria.

Well the vikings did not play good enough to win, but to have only lost by 3 points with all of those mistakes makes me believe they are the better of the two teams.

You know, I'll get over it. Like I said, in a way its good, because if the Vikings would've won a super bowl with Brett Favre, a former Packer, that would've really upset me. Viking fans are taught at a very early age that the Green Bay Packers are the mortal enemy, period. In the end I'd rather win a super bowl legitimately rather than with one of the enemy being a key role.

As a Bears fan I also have been raised to hate the Packers and the Vikings, but even I thought it was pretty sh*tty for Favre to go to the Vikings. What a way to treat your loyal fans in Green Bay. Going to the Jets was one thing, as they aren't even in the NFC, but to the Vikings? I don't think we would have accepted him in Chicago, although we need all the help we can get.
But in the end it worked out since the Vikings lost. I hope the Saints win just because they've never been to the Big Game. As it is I'll mostly be enjoying the SuperBowl for the commercials again this year as I'm not invested in either team.

FAVRE BEANS CRIED!!!
The guy didn't make a show when he got hit so hard in the first quarter that he went to the sidelines to make sure he still had all of his teeth. For him to hobble like that for the world to see, he had to have been HURT, but he went back into that game knowing he'd be hit again and again on a forty year old badly sprained ankle. I just don't understand why people on here are laughing over his injuries and his tears. He was going after the dream of a lifetime, he didn't get it, and he was beaten in every sense of the word in the process. There's absolutely nothing funny about it.

****. I can't throw in dramatic Fleetwood Mac references when I'm on my soap box at the ledge, can I?
Everything was alright, and now it's gone :distress: :distress: :distress: Damn it, Alexa, now I need the kleenex again.

As a football fan, I'm happy the Saints made it to the bowl, because they've never been there.
As a Colts fan, you're rooting for a losing team. Sorry Paula. :D

The Saints Vikings game was awesome.
During the game I found myself pulling
for the Vikings but I was happy for the
Saints...........it's been a long time coming.
Though my team is the Miami Dolphins, my
favorite quarterback since Marino retired would
have to be Peyton Manning. With all that said,
again I found myself pulling for the Jets. It's
been so long since they've been to the Super
Bowl. Maybe it was just the under dog thing.
Saint's vs. Colts, it should be a good game. I
hope it rains in Miami, that way both teams
will have to play "real" football in the elements
and then we will see who's the better team.

we've already won a super bowl in Miami in the rain.
I'm hoping for blue skies and sunshine!
I'm still so damn excited, even if we don't win! It's just knowing we got there.

We need to get some bets going. Ledgie vs. Ledgie.
Just the true fans of each team. Not money, maybe
something like a Colts or Saints jersey.
So post what you're willing to bet, and some fan of
the other team has put up or shut up. And the Ledge
is the witness. We will see who the real fans are.

I wish I had the money to bet a jersey. I wish I had the money to buy my own! haha! I'd be willing to go in on a bet.... not sure what though. Something less expensive than a jersey, and NO, I WON'T sport a Saints flag on my car for a week if the Colts lose.
I'm not really betting on them to lose though.... hmmm...

Paula, if there's ever another year that the Bills are in the Super Bowl and the Colts aren't, I'll root loud and proud for the Bills. Just because they deserve it.
