Jayson Williams fractured his neck in a car accident this morning ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

We're told Williams is in the prison ward in the emergency room at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City.

A source connected with Williams tells TMZ prosecutors in his manslaughter retrial have been in touch with Williams' lawyers and they will move to revoke his bail.

Williams hit a tree while driving his SUV early this morning. He was arrested on suspicion of DWI.

I've never heard of him but I have heard of Sylvestor Stallone. Today it was reported that he broke his neck while filming a movie. I didn't know you could break your neck and live. Maybe it was his collarbone?

you can... a friend of mine was recently in a car accident and broke her neck but she's very much alive and walking. She was very lucky...she came very close to being paralyzed.
