Happy New Year! But it's not happy for me. I got a pop-up that has overtaken my computer. It's Internet Security 2010 & I can't get rid of it. I'm scanning my computer using McAfee for the second time. It won't go away!

Please help!

Lee :distress:

Sounds more like spyware not a virus, so I'm not sure if McAfee would even pick it up. Try these out: http://www.safer-networking.org/
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php

McAfee sucks imo, so if you want better ~protection~ (sorry, I'm sounding a lot like a commercial here.. ), I'd go with either avast or eset.

Hope this works :D

The malwarebytes scan is really good. I agree that McAfee sucks...I use Kaspersky Anti-virus and it works really well. I haven't had a single problem since I installed it. I don't know about the other kinds...because I had McAfee before also...but Kaspersky updates every hour so it always has up to date protection. Anyway, thats another option for you :)

We use Norton, Lee. Haven't had any complaints. ;)

Thank you, Lisa. I used that malwarebytes.org. I guess it took it off. I had 34 infections & I removed them & it's gone! The only thing is now the Internet Explorer around the top & bottom is blue. I don't remember what color it used to be. Maybe that the malwarebytes thing causing this; I don't know. But that Internet Security 2010 is gone. Thanks again & Happy New Year!

Lee :)

Well, since you asked on a Fleetwood MAC board, let me say I had that problem on several computers. HAD that problem.
