Hi. I don't know if this has been discussed before, so if it has, sorry about that. I was just wondering if there has every been any talk of remastering Bella Donna and rereleasing it like FM did with FM, Rumours, and Tusk.

There hasn't been (at least not by the record label) but they REALLY should re-issue at the very least Stevie's first three albums. Each as a two disc set. Include the complete album, the single mixes, the 12" mixes, some demos and ALL of the original artwork. Could be a really nice set.

Back in 2006, an interviewer asked Stevie this very question, and she said it was definitely in the works.

Well, it never happened, so who knows if it ever will.

Include The Other Side of the Mirror too! That 1980s era was capped off by TimeSpace.

I'd love to see a re-release too. I'm bidding on BellaDonna and Wild Heart right now on eBay but I worry about the condition of the Vinyl. New CD's would be perfect :blob1:

I remember this interview and I have added it to the list of reasons why, as much as I love Stevie, she frustrates me so much! She KNOWS it's something the fans want, it has been suggested many, many times. I'm sure she loves her fans, but does she listen to them?! At times I very much doubt it.

She owns the material so there are no issues there, which gets her out of her (and FM's) favourite excuse. This should have been done by now. There really has been no reason not for it to have happened.

I only hope it at least gets done next year in time for 30th anniversary?!

Ok, (semi) rant over. Haha!

I seriously doubt that Stevie owns her masters, very few artists do. The only masters that I know of that Stevie owns is the "Buckingham Nicks" masters. Most likely Atlantic records owns the original recordings. Again, this is very different from holding the copyrights to the songs, Stevie owns those, but the recordings are owned by the record label.
So Stevie can suggest to the label that she wants the stuff re-issued, but if the label doesn't see a market for it, it won't happen.

I remember reading somewhere that Bella Donna was the only album sheowned the Masters to though. Am I right? Either she bought them (doubtful) or they reverted back to her after a certain period had elapsed. Or perhaps they were used as a negotiating tool when she re-signed with them over the years? Who knows...

Hmmmm, as I said I would be very surprised if she owned any of them. The "Bella Donna" album being her most successful album doesn't make sense that the label would let it go. They stand to make lots of money licensing the tracks out.
I just pulled out the School Of Rock soundtrack and for Edge Of Seventeen it says "Produced under license from Atlantic Recording Corp. By arrangment with Warner Strategic Marketing and EMI Records Ltd." So Atlantic and EMI still hold the rights. If Stevie owned the masters it wouldn't say that. It's very tough for an artist to get ahold of their masters. It only happens when there is a major law suit or if the recordings aren't making the label any money. I'm sure Polydor (long defunct, but whoever took over their catalog) is kicking themselves for letting go of the Buckingham Nicks masters years ago.
