Aww :(:( I loved her movies

Brittany Murphy died early this morning after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived, multiple sources tell TMZ.

She was 32.

A 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles City Fire Department tells TMZ.

We're told Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Murphy starred in such films as "Clueless," "8 Mile," and "Don't Say a Word."

Woah. That's just shockingly sad. I'm not familiar with her but have heard of her and, quite frankly it's just sad any way you put it. She was only 32.:(

Sucks. I wasn't a huge fan, but she was cute. She always seemed a little too fragile for Hollywood.

I thought she was great in Clueless -- one of my favorite girly movies.
Hadn't seen her in anything else besides that babysitter movie when Dakota Fanning was little.

I'm pretty sure she had an eating disorder and was doing drugs (those are what's been rumoured for years) -- she really should have gotten help.

She was fantastic in Girl, Interrupted.

But I'll always remember her for her role in my all time favorite campy cult classic, Drop Dead Gorgeous.

It seems 2009 really is the year of the dead celebrity .

She was "Lisa"... I think at one point she gives Amber (Kirsten Dunst) her costume because she can't compete.

She was Lisa Swenson... the ditzy girl who is into show tunes because of her gay brother.

"Besides... you know they only had me because Peter needed that kidney"

Seriously, the funniest damn movie of all time. I remember my friend Leah and I went to see it in the theater, and were laughed so hard we cried and probably lost bladder control. We were the only ones in the whole theater who thought it was funny too... and EVERYBODY turned around and stared at us when the lights came on and the movie was over. I think I can quote about every line in the whole damn thing! My friend Kim and I used to watch the silly thing almost daily our first 2 years in college.

I'm so glad you told him! DDG is my favorite movie of all time I think. Seemed to set Adam West up for his self depreciating recurring role in Family Guy. :D

"Last year, my roommate did Adam West... she said he was SO horny!

Oh wow. That was her? She looked totally different then. Probably made her change up for the movie because she basically looks like a twig n comparison from all these recent shots.

I adore that movie and own it. So going to watch it sometime this week now. Thanks for mentioning it, though under such sad circumstances.

It really is sad. I loved her role in Clueless and of course her work as a voice-over in King of the Hill (she did Luanne's voice). I wish she hadn't felt that she had to be so thin because she was already a beautiful person to begin with.

Although I very much enjoy Clueless (and Murphy in it), her best film and best performance BY FAR is Alan Rudolph's Trixie.

This just made me think of Stevie -- and how strong she was to have recognized her problem and done something about it. I'm not saying Stevie is better than artists/celebrities who weren't able to live long enough to regain control of their lives, but I have to admit that these stories do make me impressed with her. Showbiz is a tough business. Really, also, it shows how vulnerable Stevie really was during her wilderness years. Stevie fans are lucky to have her.

Stevie's first trip to Betty Ford in 1986 was an intervention .She did however check herself in for the Klonopin addiction in 1993.

Something she casually skims over these days... or even flatly refuses to acknowledge. Stevie is just damned lucky to have survived. But I think she got the message... and that's why she's taken all these other younger singers under her wings. It's too bad her friendship with Courtney Love didn't sink in with Courtney.

TMZ reports :( According to the notes, written by Investigator Blacklock, LA county coroner's office, "A check of the nightstands revealed large amounts of prescription medication in the decedent's name. Also noted were numerous empty prescription medication bottles in the decedent's husband's name, the decedent's mother's name and unidentified third party names." The medications included Topamax (anti-seizure meds also to prevent migraines), Methylprednisolone (anti-inflammatory), Fluoxetine (depression med), Klonopin (anxiety med), Carbamazepine (treats Diabetic symptoms and is also a bipolar med), Ativan (anxiety med), Vicoprofen (pain reliever), Propranolol (hypertension, used to prevent heart attacks), Biaxin (antibiotic), Hydrocodone (pain med) and miscellaneous vitamins.

^^It was reading the Klonopin reference, and realizing how Hollywood doctors exploit their patients, that made me think of Stevie.

I wasn't too familiar with her work, but it's very sad when anyone young dies.

Her husband has commented that drugs were not a factor. He & her mother are devastated. I hear she was very close to her mother. Very tragic; we'll just have to wait for the toxicology tests to come back. I just hope that it wasn't another Anna Nicole Smith deal.

Of course they're gonna say that. Tragic, regardless... but i'm sure the autopsy will show drug involvement. I have a feeling she pulled a Heath Ledger. :distress:
