View Full Version : Stevie sneezing in Destiny Rules DVD – “Thrown Down” Discussion

Heya

I’ve wondered since first watching the Destiny Rules DVD, you know the bit where Stevie and Lindsey are discussing Thrown Down, and Lindsey brings up the point that it might sound better if the lyrics said “and now he’s going home” as opposed to “and now you’re going home”? And Stevie didn’t like this and said “You wouldn’t say that to Bob Dylan” and such? Heheh. I love that scene.

And just before Stevie says “I’m talking to you!” in response to Lindsey asking who she’s talking to, it sounds like she sneezes. It obviously sounds like a sneeze, but is it actually Stevie sneezing or someone else off to the side? I think it’s Stevie. I have a bet ($5. lol) that it is with a friend of mine, who thinks it’s not Stevie but a camera person or something. Does anyone have any experience with Stevie sneezing and in your educated opinion, is it her or someone else? lol

I’m at work so can’t go to Youtube and find the exact moment in the footage for you, but if anyone can, please post it here to assist!

If it was Stevie sneezing, it was probably because she was wearing that perfume you guys have been talking about.

She may be allergic to Lindsey.

It's Stevie sneezing - the film is obviously edited at that point, and her nose and eyes in the next shot look like she's sneezed. It seems to me she had a bit of a cold there, or some allergies working anyway...

Yay, $5 for me! lol

Yeah, I thought so. It sounds like her voice (not that you can hear a VOICE in the sneeze, but it just sounds like her, you know?)

And yes, she did look slightly...post-sneeze when the camera went back to her afterwards.

HEHEH, allergic to Lindsay!! LMAO So true.

first, if that IS stevie sneezing then that's the first time i've ever heard her sneeze. then again, how many opportunities would we ever get to see her sneeze. have never seen it in concert! then again, has anyone ever seen anyone sneeze whilst performing live? or singing? If not, why is that?

have never seen her yawn either. so, let's get some footage of that too!

second, lindsey gets a halo over his head for dealing with that bitchy attitude. holy crap! and she wonders why she's only been to his house once lol!? from what i recall of that doc, she comes off as pretty nasty. not very nice, stephanie.

That's a good question. Something mechanical in the brain, I guess. It's like people who stutter can sing without stuttering. Maybe your sneeze mechanism doesn't trigger when you're performing. Unless the audience pelts you with ground pepper.

I saw her sneeze on stage. It was at the end of Gold Dust Woman in Tampa on the RAL tour. She chuckled after the song was over and announced to the audience that that was the first time she ever sneezed on stage. Given the time and space, who knows if that was true or not, but still a little bit of Stevie trivia from the back of my mind...

Well, Lindsey was talking to Stevie. If she sneezed while talking to Lindsey, I think he would of said "bless you" to her, instead of just going on with what he was talking about.

But I think CADreaming made a good point when she said it appeared it had been edited. Whatever Lindsey might have said was probably edited out. Of course, maybe he didn't say "bless you" at all. Maybe he said, "Get a mask!"

I had a professor in college who would say "May the evil spirits leave your body!" whenever someone sneezed.

so it would be like

"AHHHCHHHOOOO"

"May the evil spirits leave your body!"

"AHHHCHOOOOOO!"

"May the evil spirits leave your body!"

"WAHA HA CHOOOOO!"

etc etc

Dear Fleetwood Mac,

This thread is the reason you need to release some new material! Give us something to talk about beyond your bodily functions, pulease!

ROFLOL!! That reminds me of the scene at the end when Marty asks where Lindsey is....

I don’t know if Lindsey would have said anything to Stevie if she sneezed while they were talking. I think...I mean, not everyone says “bless you” or anything in the first place, and even if he does that as a general rule, maybe if he wasn’t in the most chatty or open or patient mood with her at that moment, he wouldn’t feel the urge to say it…and also, they’ve known each other forever, and were together for many years way back, and maybe he’s just over it. Lol. He has no more “bless yous” to give.

Priestofnothing, you saw her sneeze on stage, eh? Lol. How cool and cute that would’ve been. Was it the same sounding sneeze as in the DVD footage I mentioned in the original post? Could you actually hear it, or not really (if she didn’t actually sneeze into the microphone, you probably wouldn’t have been able to hear it unless you were right near the stage, eh?)

LMAO, and yes, new material please. Bodily functions, while vaguely interesting at first and to an extent, really do expose us for being the truly sad and desperate fans we are (especially me, who started this thread. LOL)

Anyone who’s ever seen Stevie sneeze, cough, burp, fart, LMAO, and so on…post here! We need something! What other bodily functions are there? Heheh.

Well, I think we've already discussed why Stevie doesn't sweat anymore. So, that may be a wrap for the bodily functions -- at least the ones we have witnessed.

But if you're a Stevie fan, you think it's fun to talk about her sneezing etc...that's the way it is and we have to accept that, lol :]

Well, I belive you because when she held my hand at the concert, you know, she had been singing for like 2 hours but her hands was sooo cold and soft....

I always wondered why Lindsey was chewing gum so much through all of this doc. Maybe to get out some of the tenseness? ...On another subject, I know this will sound frivolous, but I wish Lindsey still had his hair as dark it was in Destiny Rules. I know he's older...but it just suits him better than the current color.

Stevie does do those bodily functions. LOL. You can’t ignore it forever! That video of her and the band being interviewed by the Japanese (I think?) woman, with the weird questions, when Stevie was laughin’ it up? She coughed in that one. BODILY FUNCTION ALERT! Lol.

Why doesn’t she sweat?? At all? From anywhere on her body? (botox injections? That’s the only way I’ve heard of to stop sweating)

Well, I'm sure she does. I just don't see any. Even before Monday Morning is over, Lindsey is sweating buckets and Stevie is as cool as a cucumber. Even though he is dressed in 30 pounds of clothes -- and sometimes gloves. Face powder blots, but there's not that much face powder in the world.

There's a really funny clip of Christine blowing her nose in that same Japanese tour footage. I wish I could find a clip and post it. She's squatting down digging in her purse for a tissue and says something like "Don't film me blowing my nose!" or something like that.

LMAO! How funny! Ah, Christine's a laugh.

I think Stevie had a cold in that interview, maybe Christine did too. Or maybe just a bit too much nose powder fun goin on there, eh? Heheh.

With the lack of sweating, I've noticed that too with Stevie. I assumed it was cause Lindsey gets so worked up and it's quite a physical workout what he does on the guitar, whereas Stevie doesn't do that...but still, those stage lights. OH MY GOD. HOT HOT HOT!!!!!! Yet not so much as a glow from Stevie. Hmm. Maybe she's just lucky?

i really want to know the answer to this
coz if i wore 1/2 the clothes she wore
i'd be sweating buckets too

in that interview with Sandra Bernhard at the beginning under the lights
she's saying she's sweating  im like WAAAAAAHT
Stevie Nicks does not perspire

u can get botox to stop ur armpits sweating
but she never has a sweaty looking face
and i doubt she does botox still...

Here's a little cute stutter from Stevie from just before Rhiannon (Rosebud footage)...

LMAO, Lindsey's sweat...before the show, I had it stuck in my head that we'd be RIGHT up close to them and in the middle (not to be, but still great seats), and I expected we might get a bit of a sweat and/or spit shower from Mr Buckingham. We could see from our seats slightly further back and off to the side that whenever he'd sort of bend/lean forward quickly during his more enthusiastic guitar-playings, sweat would splash off him and into the people standing below. Heheh.
