So, literally the ENTIRE day, I have been listening to Regina Spektor, who really is a stellar Russian American songwriter. Her interesting style has really gotten me to want to write deeper, and less shallow lyrics. So, I just NOW finished a new lyric that I wrote in about 15 minutes. I'll share, and feel free to comment!!!

The Waiting
Written: Nov. 21, 2009

We think everyone that lives in the house has it all,
and so we wait, knowing they'll fall.
To dance with someone, who's unrecognizing.
The faces of all, you can't remember.

Silence leaves- as he won't hold the card.
Awaiting on the top of some barren sand hill.
It's been awhile, since he's remembered to speak.
Locked in mindscapes, he plays the bard.

(Chorus) So now he continues the waiting,
as most can't remember their own face.
But the stellar show, where they think they've found gold.
But the next day, they won't see the name,
who was all over them lately...
So he'll continue the waiting.

Seeing the world as an outside mind's slideshow.
With the past players playing hard to get.
Yet do they get what they really need?
They hardly know, as they barely speak.

Now the competition game continues-
They fly high, tossing their pride to the world.
In some ways, they get what he craves,
but they won't remember the next day.

Chorus

Bridge: He'll lock his thoughts up, and keep building.
For the down day will dawn- she all will see.
Some kind of lasting legacy.

Chorus

So, there it is- again, please feel free to comment and make suggestions, it is by no means necessarily set in stone. Hope you all enjoyed!!!

Much Love,
Ethan

Put it to music for us and then we'll tell you...

I've never been able to determine whether lyrics are good or bad just by reading them (oh unless I'm reading Dylan)

Totally understandable! When we record a demo of it, I'll have to post it!
